Sir, Please Sign Here to Get a Divorce-Chapter 120: Gabriel Galloway Seeks Out Ethan Yardley
Gabriel... Galloway?
’Didn’t I have him killed?’
’Why is he still alive?’
’Forget the fact that he’s still alive—he’s in contact with Serena?’
Ethan Yardley gripped his phone, his eyes turning cold and bloodthirsty as he looked at the woman on the bed with her back to him.
He didn’t confront her immediately. Instead, he struggled to suppress his rage and called Yannick Young right then and there.
When the call connected, he roared savagely into the phone:
"Yannick Young, what the hell kind of job did you do? Do you even want to work for me anymore? Tell me why Gabriel Galloway is still alive. If you don’t chop off both his hands and bring them to me within three days, you can disappear for good."
The sound of his roar made Serena Yardley jump.
She shot up into a sitting position, staring in a daze at the man on the phone by the bed.
She didn’t understand why he had suddenly flown into a rage.
’And he wanted to chop off Gabriel Galloway’s hands.’
When Ethan Yardley saw she was finally looking at him, his expression turned sinister as he stared at her coldly.
"Serena Yardley, still entangled with Gabriel Galloway?"
Serena Yardley suddenly had a bad feeling.
Seeing him holding her phone, she started to explain,
"Gabriel Galloway and I were just classmates. There’s nothing going on between us."
"If there’s nothing going on, then why are you always in contact with him?"
Ethan Yardley glared at her, his handsome face contorted with rage.
"The first time, you lied and said you didn’t know him. The second time, you ran off with him. The third time, you had a miscarriage because of him. I even heard him say with my own ears that the baby in your belly was his. And you’re telling me it’s ’nothing’?"
He hurled the phone at her.
Utterly bewildered, Serena Yardley scrambled to pick up the phone.
When she saw the message from Gabriel Galloway, she had no idea how to explain.
Looking back at Ethan Yardley, she was even more baffled. "I don’t know what you’re talking about. There’s never been anything between Gabriel Galloway and me."
"Don’t you dare try to argue with me. I’ve tolerated you time and time again, I’ve given in to you, and this is how you repay me?"
He snatched the phone back and made another call. "Find Gabriel Galloway," he ordered, "and I want him drawn and quartered." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
After shooting the woman before him one last, cold glare, his fury was too much to contain. Ethan Yardley spun around and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
SLAM! The sound made Serena Yardley’s heart ache with a sharp pang.
"..."
As far as she could remember, this was the first time she had ever seen Ethan Yardley so furious with her.
And all those things he said.
Why couldn’t she understand any of it?
’She knew who Gabriel Galloway was, but when had she ever run off with him? Or been pregnant with his child?’
Serena Yardley quickly picked up her phone and sent a voice call to Gabriel Galloway.
He answered, and she spoke urgently, "Is this Gabriel Galloway?"
"Yes, it’s me, Serena..."
"Gabriel Galloway, tell me, what’s the relationship between us? Why is my husband saying I ran off with you and was even pregnant with your child?"
She couldn’t remember any of the painful memories from her past.
Naturally, she had no idea what Ethan Yardley was talking about.
Gabriel Galloway was a little puzzled by Serena’s questions.
His voice was somber. "Ethan Yardley misunderstood. Serena, have you really forgotten what happened?"
"What happened? Can you please tell me? What’s this all about, with the pregnancy and running away?"
Gabriel Galloway explained honestly,
"We didn’t run away together. You had a fight with Ethan Yardley and ran away from home. I ran into you on the road and just followed you to another city.
But absolutely nothing happened between us.
Later, because of me, you were kidnapped by Quentin Montgomery, which caused your miscarriage. Have you really forgotten all of that?"
"..."
’My baby... I lost my baby because I was kidnapped?’
A thought struck her, and she quickly asked, "Then whose baby was it?"
"It was Ethan Yardley’s, of course."
"But Ethan said he heard you claim the baby was yours with his own ears. Why would he say that?"
"Because he misunderstood. I only said that to get back at Quentin Montgomery. I tried to explain to Ethan Yardley, but he beat me up before I could even speak. After that, he nearly had me killed.
I barely made it out alive, and I wanted to rush back to apologize to you. I’m so sorry, Serena. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have lost your baby."
Serena Yardley still couldn’t remember a single thing about the baby.
But she knew what Gabriel Galloway said had to be the truth.
She quickly said to Gabriel Galloway,
"Ethan Yardley knows you’re alive. He’s sent people to find you. If they find you, can you please explain everything to him?"
Gabriel Galloway agreed. "Okay, I will."
"Thank you, Gabriel Galloway."
"Does this mean you don’t blame me, Serena? If I hadn’t been so persistent with you back then, Quentin Montgomery would never have kidnapped you to threaten me. Your baby is gone all because of me."
Serena Yardley fell silent.
’If what Gabriel Galloway said was true, then she really should blame him.’
After a moment of thought, she said, "Since the tragedy has already happened, blame and apologies are useless now. Just go and explain everything clearly to Ethan Yardley.
And from now on, let’s not contact each other again. For the rest of our lives, let’s just pretend we never knew each other."
"Serena..."
Knowing she hadn’t forgiven him, a sharp, tearing pain shot through Gabriel Galloway’s heart.
’If I go home, my family will just force me to marry someone I don’t want to. It’s better to stay here and do something meaningful for the woman I love.’
After she ended the call, Gabriel Galloway took the initiative and contacted Ethan Yardley.
Ethan Yardley was absolutely livid. He sat in the living room, drinking by himself in a sulk.
The phone on the coffee table rang. He picked it up, glanced at it, and answered.
Gabriel Galloway’s voice came through the phone:
"Ethan Yardley, come outside. I’m at the gate of your community. I need to explain everything about Serena’s miscarriage to you. Stop misunderstanding her."
’Ethan Yardley couldn’t believe Gabriel Galloway actually had the nerve to contact him.’
’How many lives does this guy think he has?’
He shot to his feet, grabbed his jacket, and headed out the door.
At the gate of The Sovereign Villa community, Gabriel Galloway sat in a black sedan, his expression grim. Scars were clearly visible on his forehead, jaw, and neck.
They were left by Ethan Yardley’s men from before.
His body was covered in them, too.
It was a true miracle that he had escaped with his life.
Seething with rage, Ethan Yardley arrived at the community gate. When he saw Gabriel Galloway was actually there, he lunged forward, grabbed him, and began to beat him savagely.
Fueled by alcohol, he had lost all reason, beating Gabriel Galloway with the intent to kill.
Gabriel Galloway, believing he was guilty of causing the death of Ethan Yardley’s child, didn’t fight back.
Only when he felt he was on the verge of death did he struggle up from the ground, look at Ethan Yardley unsteadily, and say,
"Before you kill me, you at least have to let me finish talking, don’t you? Otherwise, you’ll keep misunderstanding Serena, and that’s not fair to her."
"Do I need you to teach me how to treat my own woman?"
Ethan Yardley grabbed his collar again, ready to finish him off.
But when he thought about the baby, he finally restrained himself.
He shoved Gabriel Galloway away and said coldly, "Explain it to me clearly. Whose baby was it, and how did she lose it?"
