Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Serena Tells Ethan Yardley to Get Lost

Julian Thorne steered the speedboat to the shore, hopping off the vessel with a bouquet of white roses in his arms.

He was tall and slender, dressed impeccably, and walked toward Serena Yardley with a smile as warm as a spring breeze.

Serena Yardley had been feeling sullen.

But now, seeing Julian Thorne approaching her with flowers, her frustration instantly melted away.

Julian completely ignored the other three people. He stood tall and elegant before Serena Yardley and presented the flowers with both hands.

"I’m sorry, Serena. I’m late."

Serena Yardley had always been easy to placate.

As long as the person she liked treated her well and didn’t do anything too outrageous, she would always forgive them.

She took the flowers, pouting as she said sullenly, "I thought you weren’t coming."

Julian Thorne reached out and pinched the girl’s chubby little cheek, a smile gracing his lips. "How could I not come? I promised I’d be here with you, Serena."

His touch made Serena blush, and she shyly threw herself into his arms.

"Julian, thank you for making time to hang out with me. Once school starts, I won’t get in the way of your work."

Julian wrapped his arms around her and said softly,

"This is what I should be doing. Don’t thank me; it makes us sound like strangers."

The two of them hugged as if no one else was there, completely oblivious to the feelings of others.

In Nina Thorne’s eyes, her younger brother and Serena were actually a good match.

Her brother was only two years older than Serena. Both were gorgeous and had good tempers.

’They really are a golden couple,’ she thought.

’What a shame...’

Her thoughts turned to Ethan Yardley, and she glanced over at him.

Ethan, who stood beside Quinn Gardner, was emanating a frigid aura. Though it was a sweltering summer day, the air around him was so cold it felt like it could freeze someone solid for miles.

Quinn Gardner shivered and quickly moved a little farther away from him, inching closer to his wife.

Ethan’s face was as dark as iron, his gaze as sharp as daggers.

His hands, holding the DSLR camera, were clenched so tightly it looked as if he might crush it.

But damn it all, he couldn’t go over and stop them.

In the end, all he could do was stand there, suppressing the raging tide of jealousy in his chest and desperately trying to talk himself down.

Ever self-aware, Julian Thorne finally let go of Serena.

He took her small hand and only then turned to greet the other three with a smile.

"Hey, looks like you’re all having fun."

Nina Thorne moved closer to her brother and whispered a warning,

"Julian, you’d better tone it down. Be careful or Ethan might just kill you."

Julian glanced at Ethan in the distance, a smug smile on his face.

He paid no mind to his sister’s words and looked at Serena beside him. "Come on, Serena. Let’s go over there. I’ll take lots of beautiful pictures of you."

"Okay!"

Serena followed Julian, still holding the bouquet.

The two walked hand-in-hand past Ethan, completely ignoring the man’s cold expression and the murderous aura radiating from him.

Ethan felt he was about to lose it.

He dropped the DSLR camera and strode directly toward the ocean.

He had to cool his head in the water, or he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from attacking Julian.

Julian Thorne knew he shouldn’t fall for the person beside him.

But he just couldn’t resist her allure.

When Serena, dressed in a sexy and alluring bikini, stood by the sea holding the flowers and striking various poses for his camera,

he could feel his heart begin to beat erratically.

’Look at her. Her smile is so sweet.’

’She’s so petite, yet every inch of her exudes her own unique charm.’

Gazing at her through the lens, he momentarily lost himself in the sight.

After striking several more poses, Serena smiled and ran toward Julian, her voice soft and sweet.

"Julian, let me see how the pictures came out."

Julian finally snapped out of it and lied, "I haven’t adjusted the settings yet. Go back, I’ll take them again."

"You’re so slow."

Muttering a complaint, Serena walked back toward the sea.

Only then did Julian get serious and take some photos of her.

Once they had enough pictures, the two walked hand-in-hand along the sandy beach.

They grew tired from walking and started to feel the heat. Spotting a coconut grove in the distance, Serena said,

"Julian, let’s go rest over there. The sun is so strong right now."

"Okay."

Julian led her by her small hand into the coconut grove.

They sat down in a shady spot, facing the sea. The ocean breeze was a welcome relief, cooling them down considerably.

Serena leaned against Julian’s arm and innocently gestured toward the glaring sun with her hand.

"It’s so beautiful here. The sand is pink, the sky and the sea are blue, and most importantly, the person I like is here with me." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Julian, I love this kind of romance."

She tilted her head to look at the man beside her.

Julian looked back at her.

’Serena’s face is truly exquisite,’ he thought. ’Her skin is fair and flawless.’

’Especially those big eyes that seem to capture your very soul, and those full, pink lips, naturally red without a hint of makeup.’

Staring at her, his mouth went dry, and he found himself losing control.

Serena watched the man before her. Seeing him slowly lean closer, she complied by not pulling away.

Instead, she closed her eyes in anticipation, waiting for his kiss.

Seeing her reaction, Julian grew even bolder.

He lifted her chin, closed his own eyes, and lowered his head to kiss her.

"Ju! Lian! Thorne!"

Suddenly!

A man’s furious, low roar echoed in his ears.

Before Julian’s lips could touch the girl’s, he was violently yanked away.

An iron-hard fist slammed viciously into his face.

Without another word, Ethan Yardley grabbed him and began to beat him relentlessly.

Beside them, Serena’s eyes flew open. She was stunned by the scene before her.

She scrambled to her feet and tried to pull Ethan away.

"Hey, what are you doing? Did he do something to you? What gives you the right to hit him?"

Finally managing to pull Ethan off, Serena shielded Julian. Seeing blood at the corner of his lip, she asked with a pained expression, "Julian, does it hurt?"

Julian didn’t say a word. He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, feeling as if he’d lost a tooth.

Serena was furious. She spun around, shoved Ethan, and snarled,

"What is wrong with you? Did we do anything to you? What gives you the right to hit people?"

Shoved backward, Ethan staggered a few steps. His eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Serena, his heart feeling as if it were being lashed by a whip.

The pain left him speechless.

He could only gaze at her, his eyes filled with heartbreak.

Serena glared back at him and shouted angrily, "Get out of my sight! I don’t want to see you again!"

Julian spat out a mouthful of blood and pulled Serena back.

"Serena, don’t blame him. It’s my fault."

"How is it your fault? This guy’s a psycho! What right does he have to run over and hit you? Who does he think he is?"

Her heart ached for Julian. With her eyes turning red, she yelled at Ethan again,

"I told you to get out, didn’t you hear me? You think you’re so great just because you have money? That you can just hit whoever you want?"

Ethan clenched his jaw, enduring the heart-wrenching pain in his chest, and looked at Serena, his voice low and hoarse.

"To you, can just any man touch you and have you?"
