Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 178: Take Her Away and Throw Her Back Home
There’s a feeling like some insect crawling inside my heart, even drinking can’t help me focus; finally unable to resist his inner turmoil, Caden turned on his phone again and sent a message to Julian: "Where is she now?"
After a moment, he deleted those words and re-edited a text: "Take her away from there, throw her back home."
The phone’s light illuminated his dark eyes; that trace of obscurity was hard to hide. Once the light was off, only a very faint sigh could be heard.
Looking at the message from Caden, Julian raised an eyebrow.
It seems Caden knows Evelyn is with Logan now!
Did that man really not lose his mind?
Or has he been completely heartbroken?
Julian found it amusing; for the first time Caden fell for a woman, and that woman was fiercely hurting him.
Was she sent by the heavens to break his heart?
Bringing his thoughts back, Julian was in no mood to worry about Caden’s feelings now.
Seeing Cecilia still standing at the kitchen door without moving, Julian called out, "Cecilia, come over here."
With resignation, Cecilia steeled herself and walked toward Julian.
"What do you really want? Why did you come to my house?" she asked quietly.
"Why can’t I come if other men can?" Julian retorted.
"You!" Cecilia clenched her fist, her gaze full of resentment, tears welling in her eyes.
"Go back, this is not a place you should be." Cecilia said coldly, "And... I don’t welcome you either."
"Did I ever need your welcome?" Julian’s tone was harsh, "As long as I want, I can buy this place. I’m just checking out my future home in advance; do you have a problem with that?"
"Mr. Keaton." Cecilia lowered her gaze, "You have the money, you can go somewhere else..."
"Mr. Keaton?" Julian stared at Cecilia, "That’s not what you used to call me in bed." His tone was quite playful.
At his words, Cecilia’s eyes froze, followed by a buzzing explosion in her mind.
Past memories surfaced, like an invisible hand choking her throat.
She hadn’t told anyone, not even Evelyn.
In fact, at the age of eighteen, her mother fell seriously ill, and the money she earned working was nowhere near enough to cover her mother’s medical bills.
Back then, her only option was to trade her body for money.
That day, she met Julian.
Julian bought her and made her his covert lover for five years.
He gave her money, she gave him her body, and they lived like this for two years.
Yet, not long ago, Eleanor discovered her identity while investigating Evelyn’s friend, and the quiet was shattered.
Eleanor threatened that if she didn’t leave Julian, she’d tell her mother everything.
She didn’t want to disappoint her mother or make her feel ashamed, so she chose to leave Julian.
But she had only fulfilled two years of the five-year agreement; how could Julian let her go so easily?
"This is not the place Mr. Keaton should come to," Cecilia choked, "Leave! I’ll repay the money I owe you."
"How will you repay?" Julian’s voice squeezed through his teeth, "Find another man?"
At those words, Cecilia shuddered violently, glaring at Julian, tears streaming down immediately.
Looking at Cecilia’s stubborn, pretty face, already covered in tear stains, Julian felt inexplicably irritated.
During these years with Cecilia, she never asked for anything more, refusing even small gestures like a meal, accepting only the money originally agreed upon.
And she was so sensible about it, sensible enough to make him hate it — as long as he didn’t reach out to her, she would never contact him, and her phone didn’t even save his number.
She fulfilled their agreement so well, but when she announced she was leaving, he felt disappointed, resentful, unwilling, and agitated in his heart.
