The room was filled with terror for Sophia and the opposite for Kai. Kai’s heart softly thudded for happiness of victory. He faintly grinned while his face was left stained by the demon’s blood.

As for Sophia, she panicked; she gasped while glaring at the demon’s body that landed where she was.

Flashback

When the head dropped on the ground, her heart raced faster and also hardly pounded. She panicked, and her face sharply dimmed with fear and astonishment.

She then saw the demon falling towards her.

Silently, she thought, ’Huh, the what?’ She said while her eyes raced from one place to another, searching for a place to go.

She jumped to the right and let the headless demon land freely. The dust eloped from the ground and loomed up in the air, barely covering the demon. Its green-looking blood continued to spray out where the neck was.

Her eyes trembled, followed by her body that faintly trembled in fear. Her trembling mouth remained sealed after she saw and heard the big thud of the demon. "What just happened here? Her mind raced, searching for a reason.

End of flashback

She glared at the neck that sprayed the green goo; instantly, her left hand was on her mouth as if she was about to vomit. She then thought, ’Kai, was it Kai? Where’s Kai? Her eyes raced around the place while she also called out, "Kai, hey, Kai?" Suddenly, she noticed Kai’s back since he was looking forward.

"Kai, are you okay?" She said after running 10 steps towards him and stopping before reaching him.

Softly and slowly, Kai turned around with a sharp grin on his face and his gaze on Sophia.

"Huh," she widened her eyes after she noticed Kai’s stained face. She asked again, "Are you... okay?"

With a happy face, she responded, "Ahh yeah... never better." His lips were smoothly curled up, leaving his face easy to approach, even though he had the demon’s green blood.

Happily, Sophia said, "That’s good!"

She looked down at Kai’s right hand and saw it dripping wet, covered with green-looking liquid, while it also dropped on the ground, creating its own lake.

She glared at the demon’s body and looked at Kai with the corner of her eye and asked, "Did you do that?"

"Ahh, what?" he asked while glaring at Sophia. He realized that she was glaring at the beast. He continued saying, "Ohh, this? Yeah, I just thought of working hard, so this is what I can do."

"Woah, you, you are a monster!" she said while her face filled with mischief.

Kai got astonished by the word "monster." He responded, saying, "Wait, what? Not me, that thing. I can’t be..." he said as he pointed at the demon.

"I didn’t mean it that way; I meant that you are strong and good at fighting!"

He smoothly sneered and said, "Ohh, okay, thanks? For the compliment!"

"You are welcome!"

He looked around and said, "We are done here; the time is ticking, not waiting for us, so let’s go!" he said as he turned around and started moving.

Sophia suddenly said, "Wait, an achievement stone!" she said as she pointed at the demon.

"What?" Kai said, his left eyebrow quirked. He continued asking, "What’s that?"

"Ahhh, it’s a treasure you get from any beast you defeat ...," she continued talking while Kai concentrated on something else.

’Wait, notification?’ he silently asked himself as he saw the screen.

"...a stone you get from a defeated beast, that’s easy, but I don’t see it." she said, while she glared at the demon, searching for the stone.

Sophia was left astonished by his words. She then asked, "How did you know that?"

"What? I’m sure you were singing it a second ago!"

She then said, "I, I thought...’

Fastly, she continued her sentence by saying, "I thought you weren’t listening!" She lied.

"Really, not good enough of an excuse. But it’s the truth, but you’ll have to remember that I’m another worlder, so..." he said as he smiled while he moved towards the demon.

"Okay, I get it. So, are you going to get it or what?" she asked after she noticed that he wasn’t thinking of taking the stone.

"Wait, me?" he asked as he pointed at himself.

"Yes, it’s yours; you defeated the demon!"

"Ahh, but..."

"Nah, I don’t want it!" Simply, she denied.

"Sure. But how do I obtain it?"

Sophia furrowed her brows in confusion and said, "Ahh, you are another worlder. Why don’t you get such info?"

He got a bit embarrassed, and he looked aside and said, "I want to hear it personally," while he had a convincing smile on his face. ’Agh, what a pain, I can’t start scrolling that message, and I should check out the chest fast,’ he thought while he glared at Sophia.

Sophia simply and nicely replied, "Ahh, okay. It’s easy; just come here and I’ll show you, but you’ll have to use your magic!"
