Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1468: Retreat and Pursuit
Reinforcements had finally arrived. Not only did Sein let out a long breath of relief, but the morale of the remaining Magus Civilization Army in Radbow World also soared!
Five space fortresses led the incoming forces, carrying at least ten million Magus Civilization troops!
And even then, this was only a portion of the reinforcements the Magus Civilization had committed to this warfront.
Beyond Radbow World, more forces were already sweeping through nearby star domains and even the Grand Eye Demon World.
Sein downed the last of his Amethyst Potion, spread the demonic wings on his back, and took to the skies toward the nearest federal warship.
With the arrival of the Magus Civilization Army, the Gallant Federation fleets and the Grand Eye Demon World’s mixed legions had already begun their retreat.
Though not yet in full collapse, they clearly had no chance against the Magus Civilization’s fresh reinforcements.
The federal legions surrounding Radbow World had probably detected the incoming reinforcements long ago.
No wonder their assaults had grown so desperate over the past two months. This had been their last push, a final gamble to crush Radbow World’s defenders in one decisive strike.
Thankfully, Sein and his allies had held the line!

The Gallant Federation’s retreat was swift, but the creatures of the Grand Eye Demon World was even quicker.
In less than half a year, the war on Radbow World had largely ended.
What remained was a scarred landscape of metal scaps, a grim reminder of the devastation that had taken place here.
Now, Radbow World finally found a semblance of “peace”.
Of course, that peace only applied to Sein and the Magus Civilization legions. For the plane’s native lifeforms, who had been nearly wiped out after years of brutal warfare.
Had Sein and his forces not fought to the last breath to defend the planar nodes and the plane’s navel, even this battered world would have been erased from existence.
Sein was not in Radbow World at the moment.
As one of the few Rank Four powerhouses still capable of fight on this low-level planar battlefield, he led a small legion to support the Magus Civilization’s reinforcements, relentlessly pursuing the retreating federal fleets and Grand Eye Demon World creatures.
Their chase carried them deep into the starry void!
Just as Sein had expected, the Grand Eye Demon World’s position in this star domain meant the federation could not commit too many forces here. They relied on long-range spacetime jumps, using the Grand Eye Demon World as their main battlefield.
But no matter how strong the Grand Eye Demon World was, it was still just a single large-sized plane. How could it possibly compare to the power accumulated by the Magus Civilization?
Over the last two decades, though Sein and his forces had endured a grueling defense, both the federal fleets and the Grand Eye Demon World creatures had also burned through much of their strength.
Now, with fresh reinforcements from the Magus Civilization, the pressure of their combined forces drove the enemy into a full retreat, a desperate withdrawal that saw them lose far more territory than they had ever gained!
Sein finally stopped advancing when he reached a radiant star cluster saturated with lumen elemental energy.
Further fighting no longer required his direct hand, at least not for now.
His priority now was to return to Radbow World, recover, and wait for the next orders from the Magus Civilization’s command.
He squinted slightly at the brilliant glow around him, feeling a faint sense of satisfaction in his chest.
The Grand Eye Demon World still held many treasures. This star cluster alone produced an immense amount of lumen element energy crystals and other rare resources each year.
And now, all of it belonged to the Magus Civilization.
The Grand Eye Demon World’s true punishment had only just begun!
Sein had barely arrived when a Rank Five knight from Magus World approached him.
The Rank Five knight named Barack was among the first Magus Civilization powerhouses to arrive as reinforcements at Radbow World.
When Sein led a portion of his elite forces out of the plane to chase the retreating enemy, Barack had stayed close, coordinating with him throughout the pursuit.
Until now, though, they had barely spoken.
“Master Sein, your steadfast defense of Radbow World over the years against the combined might of the Gallant Federation and the Grand Eye Demon World is truly commendable,” Barack said.
Hearing that, Sein opened his eyes and gave a small, friendly nod to the knight who had approached him.
After breaking the blockade around Radbow World, Sein quickly gathered reports about the nearby battlefronts.
The battlefield on Radbow World had never been isolated.
There were still Magus Civilization legions stationed on the low-level and microplanes, as well as in the nearby asteroid belts.
But over the past twenty years, under the relentless assaults of the federal fleets and the Eye Demons, most of those garrisons had either fallen or lost their defensive lines.
Only Sein’s forces on Radbow World had stood firm, nailed in place through sheer will.
Radbow World might not have held much strategic value in the Magus Civilization’s overall campaign across the Grand Eye Demon World, but Sein’s defense had become a powerful symbol of the army’s resilience and morale.
Even Clair, the soul overmage from the Alveroth Empire who oversaw the Grand Eye Demon World front, had heard of his deeds and praised both the Divine Tower of Ashes and the Magus Civilization’s forces stationed there.
It was only a matter of time before Sein and his comrades received official commendations from the Magus Civilization.
“We were just doing our duty. Holding Radbow World was never something one person could’ve done alone,” Sein replied.
Barack nodded, glancing around the starry void before adding, “I must also pass along Sir Martini’s gratitude to you once more. If you ever need anything, Master Sein, the Knights’ Edict will answer your call!” he said, pounding a fist to his chest.
Obviously, Barack was also a member of the Knights’ Edict.
Sein only nodded without further comment.
