Chapter 1475: Rest and Recuperation

Not long after Sein returned to Radbow World, new instructions arrived from the Magus Civilization.

He was given two choices: return to Magus World for rest and recuperation, or prepare to join the upcoming campaign against the Sapphire Scorpionfly Plane.

After a moment of thought, Sein chose the former.

He had always been more of a pacifist, and most mages in Magus World shared that same aversion to battle.

His decision to join the Grand Eye Demon World’s border conflict had been driven purely by his intention to avenge his wife, Natalya.

Nearly thirty years of conquests in that star domain had been enough to bring peace to her. It was time for him to return and continue his research.

He could feel himself approaching a bottleneck. Perhaps it was time for him to work toward the peak of Rank Four and prepare for his advancement to Rank Five.

Many of his top-tier potions and equipment had been damaged or worn out over the years.

While he could craft and repair his equipment and magic robe, potions were another matter. He wondered if Master Lorianne had brewed anything new lately.

Since the Radbow World crisis ended, he had not yet reached out to her.

Once Sein confirmed his plan to return to Magus World, he instructed Marie to begin preparations early.

The difference in treatment between the Magus Alliance’s members and Magus World’s native powerhouses was obvious.

Though they had all endured the same brutal battles, people like Sein and Tychus could return home to rest.

Foreign deities such as the Frost Crystal Silkworm and the Huusians, however, were required to remain stationed at the front. Their usefulness to the Magus Civilization was far from over.

Regarding the Huusians, Sein could only use his status as a Rank Four mage to suggest to the Magus Alliance that they be granted more rest and resources.

Suggestions from Rank Four and above mages like him often carried weight, since the high command of the Magus Civilization could not possibly keep track of every detail on the frontlines.

Determining which allied foreign gods deserved discipline and which merited leniency often came down to the judgment of Rank Four powerhouses on frontlines like him.

Before leaving Radbow World, Sein met with Fleik, the Rank Four knight stationed there from now on.

First, he asked the knight to keep an eye on the Huusians. Then, he brought up another matter.

“I heard that our Magus Civilization’s logistics bases in the Grand Eye Demon World Star Domain have been under frequent attack these past two years,” Sein said.

“I have heard the same,” Fleik replied grimly. “Several low-level and microplane garrisons were quickly wiped out, along with all the supplies stored on those planes. Reinforcements never made it in time, and even after the battles ended, hardly any traces of the attackers were found.”

Sein nodded. “Radbow World has been shifting toward becoming a major resource transit hub in recent years. Especially with the upcoming assault on the Sapphire Scorpionfly World, Radbow’s strategic value will only grow. After all, medium-sized planes like that usually take decades, even close to a century, to conquer”

“Although new Rank Four mages should be arriving after I leave, I still advise caution. The federation may be planning ambushes,” Sein warned.

Fleik nodded in agreement. “Brother Martini told me before leaving that Master Sein is a wise man and that I should take your words seriously. I’ve also heard of your accomplishments defending Radbow World during the last war. I’ll keep your advice in mind.”

Another Rank Four knight from the Knights’ Edict, Sein noted silently.

It seemed like this mid-tier power within Magus World had now fully committed its strength to the Grand Eye Demon World Star Domain battlefield.

What about the Elemental Gate founded by Grandmaster Feylis?

Sein figured their focus must lie in the Netherworld Star Domain.

After all, Grandmaster Feylis was stationed there right now, along with Gregory and Bernice, both of whom had already joined the fighting.

Once they finished discussing official matters, Sein shifted the conversation to a more casual tone.

“About the Huusian legions stationed around Radbow World, I hope you can keep an eye on them from time to time.”

“No problem,” Fleik replied without hesitation.

The return journey to Magus World went smoothly.

Thanks to the Magus Civilization’s vast network of large interstellar teleportation arrays, Sein and the Divine Tower of Ashes Army made it back even faster than when they had departed.

The Ashen Fortress, still heavily damaged during the defense of Radbow World, did not dock directly at Magus World’s starport.

Instead, it traveled to a designated demiplane, home to massive Magus World magitech factories specialized in repairing fortresses, prism forts, and airships.

Maya and the other centaurs were sent back to Centaurworld to rest and recuperate.

Meanwhile, on Pyreling World, Sein assigned a group of divine tower mages to recruit a new batch of cannon fodder.

The Radbow campaign had severely depleted his Pyreling legions.

Two million elite Pyrelings were nowhere near enough to sustain such heavy attrition!

One grueling defensive battle alone had already wiped out most of them, and no one knew how many more lives the war would eventually consume.

After assigning these tasks, Sein and the Divine Tower of Ashes mages finally returned to Magus World.

Magus World...

The sky stretched in a deep azure hue, the land was vibrant with greenery, the seas shimmered crystal clear, and the air felt cool and refreshing.

Only those who had endured the harsh, suffocating environment of Radbow World could truly appreciate the beauty of Magus World.

This was especially true for mages who had rarely taken part in interplanar wars.

Sein, however, was no longer a low-ranking mage. With his vast experience and knowledge, he no longer felt the same awe as his subordinates from the Divine Tower of Ashes.

After returning, he took a short rest, visited Master Lorianne, and soon resumed his daily routine of experiments and research.

As expected, Lorianne had not yet departed for the war front.

The Magus Alliance had tasked her with producing several batches of high-grade potions that were also effective for those of Rank Four and above.

For a master of Apothecary like her, contributing to the war effort in this way made perfect sense.

From Lorianne, Sein also learned that Aelid, the Blazing Sword of the Verdant Flame Faction, had recently led his divine tower legions into battle.

Gregory had returned briefly to Magus World, met with Lorianne, and then immediately returned to the frontlines.

The colossal war machine that was the Magus Civilization was now running at full capacity.

Once back at his own tower, Sein tried to contact Leena of Blackhaven, but there was no response.

Instead, an unexpected visitor appeared—the Spider Queen, who had been missing for many years.
