Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1557: The Sisters
Without lingering in the Houllier Star Domain, Sein and his group continued forward along their predetermined stellar route.
Lately, the Huusian sisters had been frequent visitors to Sein’s laboratory.
They were clearly being encouraged by their father to visit so diligently.
The two women were bound to Sein through contractual marriage agreements.
Aside from their different skin tones, both sisters possessed features that aligned extremely well with Magus World’s standards of beauty.
Because of this, Sein never showed even the slightest hint of rejection or displeasure toward them.
In fact, because Gwyneira had once saved his life, Sein treated her with a degree of preference.
For example, she was one of the very few allowed unrestricted access to his laboratory—a privilege Gwyndira also enjoyed simply because she was her younger sister.
The two sisters were remarkably considerate. Even though they had free access to Sein’s laboratory, they never disturbed him while he worked.
Most days, Azelia kept them company, and the sisters would occasionally lend a hand with the lab equipment.
When Sein summoned them today, he immediately noticed that their life force felt unusually strong.
His gaze drifted to Gwyneira’s ears, where a pair of vivid green earrings caught his attention. The emeralds shone with crystalline clarity, radiating a vibrant aura of plant and life energy.
They seemed to be rather precious plant life stones.
Noticing Sein’s gaze, Gwyneira’s cheeks reddened slightly as she explained, “My father bought these for me in the Hundred Flowers Worlds. They cost nearly a hundred thousand magicoins.”
Since the Hundred Flowers Worlds had joined the Magus Alliance, magicoins naturally began circulating throughout that star domain.
The Huusians had been part of the Magus Alliance for some time. Years of war and strong performance on the battlefield had earned them a considerable amount of magicoins.
Spending a small fortune on jewelry for his daughter was perfectly reasonable for the Huusian King.
However, Sein knew that the true value of those life stones should far exceed one hundred thousand magicoins.
The Huusian King had likely acquired it at that price by making use of Sein’s name and the Magus Civilization’s influence when negotiating in the Hundred Flowers Worlds.
The Huusians’ connection to the Tower Master of Ashes through marriage had never been intentionally concealed.
If anything, they treated it as something to boast about.
Thanks to this connection, the Huusians had enjoyed more favorable assignments in the Magus Alliance over the years.
On the Grand Eye Demon World Star Domain’s battlefield, Sein had personally requested the other law-wielding knights and mages to keep an eye on the Huusians.
The Magus Civilization always extended a degree of leniency and even generous treatment to alliance members who demonstrated exceptional performance and unwavering loyalty.
The Huusian clan was one such case.
Aside from Gwyneira, Gwyndira also had a new accessory.
It was a rather unique pink crystal set on her navel.
When Gwyndira slipped off her coat, revealing her slender waist and the gemstone, Sein could not help but look.
Compared to her older sister, Gwyndira was clearly more forward and far quicker on her feet.
“I picked this out myself—unlike my sister, who still needs Father to choose hers,” Gwyndira said.
“What do you think of it?” she asked, twirling in front of Sein with one hand resting boldly on her hip.
A faint fragrance drifted toward Sein. Along with its hint of dendro energy, it sparked a faint, primal response in him.
“It looks pretty nice,” Sein replied honestly.
Gwyneira flushed and glanced aside, shy and flustered.
Gwyndira, on the other hand, stared at him with bright, expectant eyes.
After a brief moment of thought, Sein said, “You two have been my wives for some time now, yet we have never truly been... intimate.”
Gwyneira’s cheeks immediately reddened further.
Although a hint of color rose on Gwyndira’s face as well, she met Sein’s gaze boldly as she revealed her elegant figure.
Her chest was not as full as her sister’s, but her waist and hips held a natural, healthy allure of their own.
And earlier, it had been Gwyndira who first stirred that instinctive reaction in him.
“There’s still some time before my next experiment. How about we...?” Sein asked.
Even with the power and status to take whatever he wanted, Sein still chose to ask for their consent.
He had never forced anything on a woman. Every intrusive or risky experiment he had ever conducted was done with clear, willing approval.
Gwyneira kept her head lowered, her cheeks burning with embarrassment, and remained silent for a long moment.
It was her younger sister, Gwyndira, who recovered first. She flicked her short hair and grinned. “I don’t mind at all, and I’m sure my sister doesn’t either.”
“She’s probably been waiting for this day for ages,” she added teasingly.
Gwyndira’s bluntness instantly earned a glare from her older sister.
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Gwyneira scolded.
“Nonsense? Says the one who keeps whispering a certain someone’s name while training,” Gwyndira shot back with an indifferent shrug.
Watching the two sisters bicker, Sein exhaled softly.
“I have truly neglected both of you,” he admitted. “I should have spent more time with you two after we broke out of the Gallant Federation’s star domain all those years ago.”
“Don’t listen to her, Sein. Your experiments are more important. As for me, I... I can wait,” Gwyneira said softly.
“Hmph. You might be able to wait, but I can’t, sister. Are you absolutely sure you can advance to Rank Four? I refuse to grow old and regret missing my chance,” Gwyndira said boldly.
In truth, she was speaking on Gwyneira’s behalf.
Gwyneira opened her mouth to rebuke her, but Sein raised a hand to quiet them. “Let’s go to the lounge beside Lab Four.”
The room fell silent.
Even the usually bold and fearless Gwyndira flushed scarlet, her steps suddenly faltering.
Talking was one thing; following through was quite another.
Sein watched them with interest before leading the way.

After an intense session, Sein sat with the sisters resting quietly on either side of him, suddenly feeling how wonderful life was.
Fulfilling experiments, exciting battles, a small family that cared for him, and rare moments of leisure in between it all...
If only Natalya were not in a coma... and if only Leena’s situation, deep within the Gallant Federation, were not still unknown... then perhaps he could truly relax.
“It seems the Hundred Flowers Worlds truly hold many treasures. Who would have thought they possessed life stones that could work on even Rank Five beings?” he murmured, brushing his finger lightly over the pink ruby in Gwyndira’s navel.
The gap between their life levels and Sein’s made it easy for him to handle both sisters without difficulty.
Their Huusian physiques were naturally stronger than those of mages like Selina and Eileen, and the life stones’ restorative power helped their stamina return quickly.
Though both sisters were exhausted, they were recovering well.
“Of course,” Gwyndira said, catching his wandering hand. “Otherwise, we wouldn’t have spent so many magicoins on them. Do you know how little our clan has earned through the wars these past few years?”
As expected, Gwyndira was the more composed of the two sisters. Even now, she remembered to speak on behalf of her clan.
Sein only smiled, choosing not to poke holes in her words. “I see. So, that’s the true purpose of these dendro life stones.”
He glanced at the two sisters and continued, “It looks like the two of you have almost recovered. Shall we go for a few more rounds?”
“Huh? Again?!” Gwyndira’s eyes went wide—though her protest lasted only a moment before Sein pinned her down once more.
“Let’s try other positions next.”
