Chapter 175: Boarding the Warship

There was a loud metal screeching and Jace watched the large open part of the roof had begun opening up. At the same time he could hear the communication channel lighting up with activity as the others realized Hoodwink’s plan.

Jace walked forward to the retracting roof. He walked to the edge where the roof was retracting and glanced down at the open area underneath. Underneath the massive warship he could see the others. They were spreading out fighting the biomechanical mutated creatures that Hoodwink had around.

The metal walkways, pipes, and wires on the second floor and third floor that were connecting to the warship had started retracting. He could see that some of the shock troopers on the second floor walkway were running up it. There was also a Spectre Nina and a unique type of soldier.

The armor in question belonged to Agent Vana. She came with the Anvil’s Infantry unit. Agent Vana was wearing armor that Director Fenrir had sent to her. The armor was similar to infantry armor except the helmet was shaped like a wolf’s snout and it had retractable claws, arm mounted guns, an arm mounted grappling hook. Then to top it all off the armor had a very old version of a personal shield he had never seen before.

He watched as Nina jumped forward to the side of the ship. She hung off the side as Vana jumped forward as well using the grappling hook and claws to grab onto the side of the ship. Then she did something and what looked like an airlock tore off the side of the ship. Then they both disappeared inside of the warship.

Jace chuckled before he stepped back for a moment before dashing forward. He landed on the roof of the warship with a metal thump and used his ability to read and copy the schematics of the warship. He quickly found the entrance he could use.

As he walked towards it he glanced behind himself, found the blue blood trail he left behind. The warship was almost past the opening roof as it retracted. He walked to the entrance making sure it was unguarded.

He pulled his knife and pulled up the panel next to the door. Detaching it he took a moment of studying the schematic before he cut a few wires and switched them.

Once they were switched the door slid open. Jace glanced down and waited for a moment before entering the warship.

"Is that hallway clear?" Nina asked as Vana peaked around the corner. The corner had a pair of those square mutated soldiers. But Vana could see further than that. The helmet enhancements allowed her to identify multiple similar marks down around the corners.

"Negative. Multiple contacts. Do we have a location or destination?" Vana responded in turn as she moved back around the corner as bullets hit the corner she was standing at.

"Yeah, the bridge. No one else managed to get on the ship. We can only assume that Jace was just as unlucky." Nina peaked around the corner and fired her assault rifle. Vana could hear the bullets whiz through the air before hearing the ugly ’splat’ noise as the bullets found their mark. She was still getting used to the sensitive audio on helmet.

Vana took a shot with her arm mounted gun down the hall by Nina. It went through the body of one of those fast moving ones. It fell limp and collapsed to the ground. Sliding across the ground because of the inertia. "Okay, now we just need to figure out how to get there."

"Yeah... Jace is useful for this kind of thing." Nina confirmed with a chuckle. "Which is why we are going to move until resistance gets annoying. Let’s start by heading to the center of the ship." Nina ran across the hall.

Vana sighed before following her across the hall. Ever since they arrived at this central base of Lord Hoodwink, she had been in rapid motion like she was trying to outrun Jace who was already here.

She had recklessly jumped the line and engaged in hand-to-hand combat with mutated soldiers when they arrived in the train yard. Vana had to follow and assist her. They were even the first ones to the stairs. Although they did have to cut through the line while the Shock Trooper called Parrot covered them with an experimental weapon.

Then after they arrived at the stairs they had to fight their way up the stairs to the third floor. By then they realized that something was wrong. This fact was reinforced by the call over the communication channel telling them about the giant warship that was being built inside of the structure.

Then they ran towards the center of the facility just as it began shaking. While at the same time they were fighting several different types of mutated soldiers. It was a miracle they were not covered in the stange blue blood that these mutants had in them.

Now they were running and fighting again. Mostly it was through halls and towards additional enemies. Looking for a bridge on this giant unfinished space ship.

Vana skidded to a stop as she had a thought. Nina stopped a moment later when she realized that Vana had stopped. "What’s wrong?" Nina asked.

"We should not head to the bridge." Vana answered in a rush as she processed her own racing thoughts.

"Why not? That would be where all of the ship’s systems and controls would be located." Nina reminded her as she made a few hand motions.

"Because this ship has not been completed. It was only for a bit. But this spaceship is not complete. There are giant chunks of the ship missing. Who is to say the bridge has even been completed." Vana explained as she leaned back as a laser sped past her head. She raised a hand and fired one of her arm mounted guns.

"You think they are located somewhere else." Nina nodded, "I am following, where should we be going?"

"The most completed section of the ship." Vana answered before going to the local communication channel. "Can someone tell me where the most complete section of the ship is located?"

"The ship? It... looks like the back where engineering is located typically. The rest of the sections are not as armored." Someone responded.

Vana switched off the channel. Nina nodded, "Engineering. Let’s move!" Nina began moving but stopped before spinning around. They had taken so many turns and run so much, she must have realized they had to reorient themselves first.

After a moment Vana began moving toward her right down a hallway. "How many levels are there on this ship?" She asked as one of her sharpened claws cut through one of the mutated soldiers. Three separate chunks splashed onto the floor with a fountain of its blood spilling over the metal floor.

"No clue. Let’s head back there and search up and down to find some targets." Nina decided as she fired down a hall, shooting out the legs of two moderately armored mutants.

They moved through corridors which had wires showing and even some missing panels. But they knew they were on the right track when those little details and unfinished bits of the hallways disappeared.

Well that and the amount of enemies drastically increased. Eventually they were about to round a corner when Nina grabbed Vana and pulled her back. Just in time for something to move rapidly just in front of her and leave a burning cut in the floor.

They backed up a moment to see a womanly figure in what would be considered some type of black leather. For her head the eyes had been replaced by something that made her look like she had giant bug eyes. But they were probably a dozen cameras laid together in sequence.

Peeking from her butt is a yellow and white colored cat tail. While her head had two twitching cat ears above these giant electronic eyes. One of the ears seemed to have the tip cut off of it. In one of her hands is a coil of metal wire that had the handle on one end and a glowing red tip on the other. On her other hand was some type of gauntlet.

"Hello, girls. I apologize but my master does not want you freely running through the Necros. So yield now before I have to make you yield." She let go of the coiled part of the whip and it unraveled and the red tip began burning the metal floor.

"Well damn. I thought they would not be prepared." Nina raised her assault rifle to shoot at the woman. But as she raised it there was a loud popping noise as the whip broke the sound barrier. The assault rifle flew out of her hands in parts, each part smacked glowing with heat as it flew through the air. Nina looked at her now empty hands in surprise.

"Now now, none of that." The woman waved a gloved finger in disapproval.

"Oh this bitch." Nina cursed in annoyance.
