Chapter 527: Lighthouse

"Hahaha!" The man laughed manically as he loosened his belt. "Since you are late on repayment we will take some of the cost out with your lovely wife." The man declared as he was about to pull off his pants. His subordinates were holding down both the husband and the wife.

"No! I just need a few more weeks!" The man declared while the wife sobbed as her dress was forcefully torn off. The men on either side of her pulled apart her thighs. "Please leave her-"

"Force him to watch and-"

BOOM!

An explosion shattered the wooden door and windows near the entrance throwing all of them around causing shock. The leader of these men groaned as he pulled himself up and looked toward the source of the explosion. Where a figure was standing. Its form was terror itself, the man felt like he was looking at a ghost that had risen from the sea.

At least until it spoke. "Umm... sorry about the door." A haunting voice apologized in a high pitched mechanical voice in the broken common tongue.

—------------------

A minute earlier.

Jace had climbed up onto the road that would lead him to the lighthouse. The rocks were too jagged for him to climb directly up to the lighthouse. At least without worrying about the wind that was pushing and pulling at him. With nothing to hold on to he might just be blown away if he was up there.

It was a strange experience. Almost like he was a normal human again. He walked up the gravel road to the lighthouse as he could still faintly hear voices in the distance. But the language they were using was unfamiliar. He would set up the auto translation feature of his armor once he got close enough.

As he walked he felt sluggish still with the heavy amount of gravity. It was not like he was straining his body. But he knew he could not display the full range of battle prowess he was used to with such a heavy gravity.

As he got to the front door of the lighthouse he found the yelling inside had grown louder. While outside there were a few... horses? Were they really horses? He knew that in his galaxy they had adapted horses to planets with genetic engineering. But not to the point where it could stand in torrential winds and rain like it was not even bothered. What were they feeding these things?

All of the horses had saddles on them. It seemed that the keeper of the lighthouse had a guest or few. He began moving forward toward the door when he noticed the horses, which were not tied up, moved away from him but seemed to be watching him out of the corner of their eyes. He could swear he could feel them smirking as he stepped up to the oddly thick wooden door and prepared to knock when he suddenly felt electricity pulsing on his back.

He looked over his shoulder and noticed that his vibro-lazor sword was giving off visible cues of static electricity. He reached back and pulled it off his back. As he did the sword part became visible and it was shining so brightly it was blinding. Then Jace figured out what the horses had realized by instinct, what clever creatures.

BOOM!

A bolt of lightning came down and hit his sword like it was a lighting rod and pieces of the sword exploded in all directions sending pieces of shrapnel everywhere. His visor dimmed so he was not blinded and he was able to see the pieces of shrapnel bounce off the horses and people inside like it was nothing.

Although the door he was standing in front of literally exploded. But that did give him a view of the inside of the house and he could now see what all the screaming and arguing he could hear from outside was about. It appears several of the men were going to assault the woman and force the man, probably her husband to watch.

His program finished, showing that he could attempt communication now. "Umm... sorry about the door." He was still on the fence on what he should do. It might be because of the crash or maybe it was the lighting that just hit him, but he was feeling a bit out of it.

One of the hoodlums whose pants were at his ankles shakily stood up. "The hell!?! Gave me a damn near heart attack. Grab your weapons boys! Seems like another space man. We will have our fun with the lighthouse keeper’s wife once we are done with the space scum."

"Space scum?" Jace frowned as he thought for a moment that his translation might have been wrong. But then he had to switch gears as one of the men that was holding down the husband stood up with a wooden club, actually that looked a lot like a baseball bat.

"Aaaahhh!" He screamed before running forward and swinging his bat at Jace. Hitting Jace in the chest.

Jace slid backwards and groaned in pain as the hit reverberated throughout his body. He readied himself just in case and he was glad he had. He would have flown back through some trees. Instead he was skidding across the ground. While at the same the bat he was just hit with exploded into pieces of wood.

The man with his pants around his ankles hurriedly pulled them up. "Grab your weapons! This one will put up a decent fight! Perhaps we can take him to the Island’s pits for a good fight!"

Jace chuckled as he rotated his arms. He was ready for a fight. But it seems they had not noticed. Or at least the others had not noticed as the man with the broken bat dropped the stump and reached to his midsection as he spewed up blood. Barely grabbing hold of the broken sword that Jace jammed into his chest before he fell to the ground dead. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"What?" One of the others asked in shock.

"I will admit, if that blade had not been superheated it might have not cut through his chest. Should I consider that bolt of lighting fortunate or not?" Jace asked as he raised a hand and made a motion to almost silently say ’come at me.’

"Aaarrghhh!" One of the others pulled out a knife and ran forward the boss and other two following quickly behind him out of the door. Leaving the lighthouse couple alone.

Jace slapped the hand with the knife to the side before elbowing the man in the chest and pushing him away as he coughed and fell off balance onto the ground. The next enemy was already upon him. Trying to punch him in the head.

Jace slammed his head forward and there was a sickening crack while Jace’s head rang in pain. The man screamed before losing his breath as Jace kneed him in the midsection and then they fell backwards as Jace moved around them crouched to duck the metal object that was swung at him and hit the next person in the midsection before stepping up and forward with an upper cut that had his head snapping back.

As that one fell unconscious the last two. One of which was the leader of this group, moved forward more cautiously as their friends laid unconscious or injured on the ground. Actually, the first one he stabbed was dead. He had stopped moving and a quick check with his electrical vision showed a lack of energy in that body.

The leader had a knife drawn while his last standing compatriot had pulled out a knuckle duster. Jace watched both of them waiting for the first one to react. Then the one with the knuckle duster jumped forward and Jace side stepped the attack he threw towards his chest. Swinging his leg around and hitting the side of the enemy’s leg.

There was a loud snap as the man screamed and crumbled to the ground. Reaching for his leg that was probably broken. While Jace just looked to the side where the leader of this group had tried to stab him with his knife. Only for the knife to bend and break upon impact.

"Now what did you think would happen?" Jace asked with a chuckle as the leader of the hooligans slowly looked up to meet eyes with Jace’s visor. Jace swung a hand and back handed the man, sending him flying to the side and skidding across the dirt. Out like a light.

Jace walked toward the open doorway just as the rain started to disperse above and Jace could pick out a beam of light breaking through the sky in the distance making the sky red. He stepped through the door to see the shocked light house couple. "Hello there, I hope you do not mind answering a few of my questions."

The man cowered and looked like he wanted to disappear but the woman smirked in a way that Jace was familiar with. It was concealed anger. "I will in a moment." She answered before turning to the man. "Get the hell out of my lighthouse you cowardly piece of shit. Go settle your debts on your own. If I see you again, I will kill you."

"But-" The man did not get a chance to speak as the woman grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to the door. Jace quickly moved inside and stepped out of the way as the woman threw him out of the lighthouse. He swore he could hear laughter from those horses outside.
