SpiderGwen: I have a system?!-Chapter 195: Days of Future Past

[3rd POV]

The Days of Future past was a...complicated universe. A world where everything went to shit thanks to the actions of a few. With the designation of "Earth 811" Gwen was very interested in the universe.

It started back when the Jean Grey of that universe was possessed by the Dark Phoenix, but unlike in the mainline 616 universe, her father did not cast her out, which meant that she did not die in a Shi'ar Honor duel that would occur in the future, which meant that she and Scott Summers married, and even had a child.

Rachel Summers.

One of the most powerful mutants in this reality, the host of the phoenix, or at least a portion of it. The woman would be incredibly important to the city, alongside another mutant, one of the most powerful out there, the son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm...

Franklin Richards.

Franklin was a mutant, an incredibly powerful, impossibly strong one. One that could contend against the likes of Galactus, and should he ever reach his full, true potential, he would be able to defeat Galactus. The power that he had was immense, and would be a huge boon to her city, should she manage to get him and Rachel to move there.

He'd be able to provide another form of defense to the city, alongside Nate, Jean, and Rachel should she join, and that is not even including the orbital cannons and Gwen herself. A combination of all those people would make the city practically impossible to invade, unless of your Galactus or something.

The universe housed a few things she was interested in. The mutants were an obvious one, with there only being a small amount in North America due to the camps being created to kill, capture, and experiment on them, similar to the Age of Apocalypse but probably a bit better, not that that was saying much.

The entirety of the United States of America had been conquered by the Sentinels, created to hunt and kill mutants after the assassination of Senator Kelly, a man that was very fiercely racist against mutantkind.

With his killing, as well as some riots and other events going down, the United States began to put out reforms regarding mutants, especially once a mutant-hating president took over. Eventually this culminated in them reactivating the sentinels, and thus began the beginning of the end of sorts.

It had led to their current situation. The sentinels controlling the entirety of the country, the mutants that weren't in camps or dead were on the run in other countries. The sentinels now were looking into conquering the other countries of the world, and the world as a whole was scared shitless of them, far more than they ever were of Mutants.

Gwen was interested in the universe for Franklin and Rachel, but she was also interested in the universe for the technology they had, like the Sentinels, most notably Nimrod. She was mostly interested in absorbing him rather than using his technology, as her own droids already had the adaption capabilities that a sentinel had.

She wanted to absorb him mostly in order to boost her adaption, which so far was a bit underwhelming with how strong she needed it to be in order to handle Project Rebirth, which involved countless forms of new power, power that involved science and magic, body and soul. The new power would be straining on her, even with all the regenerative powers she had, all thanks to the nature of the powers, and how much it actually was.

Gwen already had a few hundred clones traveling through space in Earth 811, their targets being the same as before, mostly so she could get them sooner than last time. As she didn't really want to stay in this universe for too long, as she really wasn't sure what the cosmic superpowers would think of her recent interference. With her changing things beyond what should have happened with the X-Men of Earth 616.

Her other clones were around the planet already finding and tracking down all the camps on Earth, as well as the factories that were producing more Sentinels, and the various other labs that they were using for other things. Such as the birth of Nimrod which she had found rather quickly.

The labs were all highly guarded, to normal mutants at least, but to her, it would be laughably easy to break in and take care of them. It was through this that she had caught wind of the camps that held Wolverine, Storm, Rachel, Magneto, Kate Pryde, and Franklin Richards.

The only reason they were in the camps was due to the collars that were placed around every mutant's neck, that blocked them from being able to use their powers. They were strong enough that not even Rachel could break through the block, and it would have likely even affected Jean and Nate back home.

With them were a number of other mutants all held, locked away with collars around their necks until they are either killed, or die naturally from starvation or whatever else. As within these camps they are considered less than human, and will thus be punished for it.

There were dozens of these camps around the country, each holding thousands of mutants within, and each being patrolled and run by dozens of powerful sentinels. None of them were a threat to Gwen of course, who was currently floating above the camp that held the primary reason she was there.

'Damn machines, monsters in metallic form' Gwen thought with a frown, as she felt her clones around the world beginning their assault on the labs, and beginning their mass recruitment once more.

With this in mind, Gwen stretched as she held her hand out, her figure no longer hidden by magic as she revealed herself. And almost immediately she was noticed, as sirens were sounding out amongst the camp, and the Sentinels began to fly up to stop her.

Only she wasn't about to let that happen, as the hand that she stretched out slowly clenched into a fist, as she flexed the force, crushing each and every sentinel in the area into fine scraps of metal, as around the country her clones began to do the same, while the Nimrod lab was being raided, and its form being taken back to be absorbed by her.

'So much potential, wasted for mass genocide' Gwen thought with a shake of her head as she flicked her wrist, the collars on every mutant snapping cleanly in half like they were nothing. The cells stretched and broke apart as the walls that previously held them were destroyed like they were nothing, and soon, every mutant in the camp was looking at her with wide eyes of awe.

"Who-Who are you?" A voice asked, as she turned to find it was the Storm of this universe, her eyes were wide in shock as Gwen softly smiled.

"My name is Gwen. I am a...traveler of sorts, one that could not sit idly by while other mutants were treated like...this. I've come to give all of you an offer!" Gwen stated, as behind her, images of Malzif began to appear.

"This is the city of Malzif! A mutant city built by me, and ran by a council of fellow mutants! Placed in a location that none can access, that none can attack, a place where all mutants will be safe, and will be treated well" Gwen said, as the images flashed rapidly, showing all sorts of great buildings of the city, as well as various other wonders that the people had come to love.

"All mutants are welcome! If you agree to move to my city, you will be taken there promptly, where you will then be healed, fed, and properly explained the full extent of what the city has to offer, and what being a civilian of the Mutant Utopia is like" Gwen said, as many of the mutants began to look to one another.

"How can we trust you?" One of the mutants asked, as she smiled softly.

"Just as yourself this: Is taking a chance on a potential new home, safe from these...sentinels, worse than staying in this camp?" Gwen asked, causing many to go silent, before she smiled, as a portal appeared behind her.

"These portals will take you to the city, where you'll be greeted and treated. This invitation is going out to every mutant on this Earth, and I hope to have all mutants move there, mostly for your own safety, but also because my city is still lacking citizens" Gwen said, as she noticed them all pause for a few moments, before they flooded through the portal rapidly.

"Y-You said you're saving all mutants on Earth?" Rachel Summers asked, as Gwen turned to her and softly smiled.

"I am. I can't save those that are already lost, but I've already got my agents saving mutants around the world, and should have all mutants off Earth within a day. At the same time my agents are also dealing with the sentinel threat for the humans" Gwen replied, as Rachel looked to her husband, Franklin Richards, and then the others.

"You don't need to worry about saving everyone, I've got it covered" Gwen added with a knowing smile, as they all looked at her in surprise.

"I've traveled a lot, so I know who you all are, and what you were planning. Now, are you going to get through the damn portal or am I going to need to drag you through?" Gwen asked, as they all looked at one another, before slowly walking through the portal, giving her a thankful nod.

Smiling as they left, the entire camp leaving for Malzif, she shut the portals, as she decided to continue her recruitment.

Looking around, Gwen smiled as she teleported off, one thought on her mind as she did so.

'...Time to absorb some Sentinels!'

That's the end of the Chapter!

The rest of the mutant recruitment arc will likely be a lot of lesser known worlds, so it'll be done through a single Chapter, as this arc wasn't meant to be long or anything.

There will likely be a sizable timeskip coming up soon, as things will now start to ramp up. Much bigger threats will begin to appear, ones that Gwen could actually struggle against.

This fic probably has another 50-100 Chapters before it's end, as it's beginning to get dragged on, and I've noticed that.
