Chapter 167: Passionate First Kiss

Ainsworth and Elyndra stood close enough to feel each other’s breath. Their hands stayed intertwined, neither of them willing to let go.

Even from afar, anyone would notice the change. The atmosphere around them grew heavy and intimate, as if the world was holding its breath for the two of them.

Mira, Aria, Nyx, and Isolde leaned forward, clearly expecting the next moment to turn into a full-blown kiss scene.

But before the four could witness anything else, Ainsworth and Elyndra suddenly vanished from sight.

Nyx immediately pouted. "Seriously? Already? I wanted to see their first kiss."

Isolde clicked her tongue. "My ship finally sails, and they teleport out right before the good part. Figures."

Despite their complaints, the four of them wore satisfied smiles.

As Elyndra’s closest friends, they had always been aware of her feelings for Ainsworth. The only reason nothing happened sooner was because of their backgrounds and the weight of Elyndra’s position as Crown Princess.

It had been frustrating to watch for so long.

But now, the relief on their faces was obvious.

"At last," Mira said under her breath.

"A match made in heaven," Aria agreed.

The four exchanged glances and laughed. Their sister in all but blood had finally gotten the happiness she deserved, and the man she chose was someone they trusted without hesitation.

...

A vast ocean stretched out endlessly in all directions. Sea monsters roared beneath the waves, but the small desert island at the center of the waters remained silent and untouched.

Two figures appeared on its shore.

Elyndra blinked at the surroundings. "Where are we? This doesn’t look like any place on Earth. Unless it’s some hidden region no one has ever mapped."

Ainsworth still held her hand as he answered. "This is the Monster World. We won’t be disturbed here. If you want to talk, I’ll answer whatever I can."

He paused, then gently lifted her chin.

"Or," he said quietly, "we can do something else."

He leaned in and kissed her forehead.

The touch was soft, warm, and tender. Elyndra felt her heart tighten in her chest.

A forehead kiss was sweet, but far too light for what she wanted.

She had already decided to be with him. She wanted something more passionate!

"Ains, you missed," she whispered.

Before he could speak, she tightened her hold on his hand and pulled him toward her. Ainsworth lost his balance slightly, just enough for her to guide him.

He stumbled.

Elyndra caught him with a kiss.

Their lips met in a direct and decisive way, devoid of hesitation and awkwardness.

Elyndra had waited far too long for this moment. She had spent a decade in the Otherworld while Ainsworth had only spent a year.

Naturally, her longing for him was even greater, as, in terms of experienced years, Ainsworth was only 17, while Elyndra had already become 26.

If she didn’t take the initiative, who knew how long they’d have such an opportunity to be together. Since she had already decided to be with him, Elyndra wasn’t indecisive, as she had even established an empire built after their surnames.

After several minutes, their lips parted. Their breaths heaved, the warmth caressing both of their faces.

Their foreheads rested on each other’s. Looking at each other eye to eye, Ainsworth saw Elyndra’s gorgeous and breathtaking appearance up close.

Elyndra’s golden eyes looked at him with affection and longing.

Ainsworth felt something stir inside him the moment he met her gaze.

She had taken the initiative, she had kissed him without hesitation, and she hadn’t resisted even for a second. That alone was enough to make his heart beat harder than any battle ever had.

He cupped her cheek gently, his thumb brushing the corner of her lips. Elyndra leaned into his touch, her breathing soft and unsteady.

Seeing her like this broke the last restraint he had.

He lowered his head and kissed her again.

This time, it was Ainsworth who took the lead. Their lips pressed together, slow at first, but the heat rising between them made it impossible to stay gentle for long.

Elyndra responded to every movement of his mouth, her breath growing hotter against his skin. When he pressed a little harder, she tilted her head and moved closer, as if asking for more.

Ainsworth obliged.

He parted her lips with his tongue.

The moment he slipped inside, Elyndra trembled lightly in his arms. It wasn’t rejection nor fear, but merely sheer inexperience mixed with excitement and novelty.

Her fingers tightened around his clothes, pulling him closer.

Elyndra opened her mouth for him, accepting him completely.

Their tongues brushed.

The faint contact was enough to send a jolt through both of them.

Elyndra let out a small, involuntary sound, barely audible, but Ainsworth heard it. It made something in him harden.

He deepened the kiss. Their tongues intertwined, cautious for a heartbeat, then gradually more eager as Elyndra grew bolder and responded to him.

She tasted warm and sweet, like she was pouring all her affection into every movement.

Ainsworth wrapped an arm around her waist, drawing her close until their bodies met.

Elyndra didn’t resist. If anything, she pressed even closer, her hands sliding up his back as if she was afraid he might disappear if she didn’t hold on.

The kiss went on longer than either of them expected.

Time lost meaning.

The only thing that existed was her warmth against him and the mingling of their breath.

Eventually, they had to part for air.

Their lips separated, wet and slightly swollen from the intensity.

As they pulled back just a fraction, their tongues grazed one last time, and a thin strand of saliva stretched between them before finally breaking.

Elyndra’s cheeks were flushed. Her golden eyes were hazy and unfocused, filled with tenderness and desire.

Ainsworth’s chest rose and fell as he tried to steady his breathing, but his eyes never left her lips.

Both of them knew the relationship they had just confirmed was no longer something fragile.

With the atmosphere already built up and wanting to seal the deal, Ainsworth thought, ’I’ve already obtained her first kiss and given my first. I want to obtain her every first, so...’

As that thought popped up in his mind, Ainsworth asked, "Elyndra, do you want to continue this in bed?"
