SSS-Knight in a Hero World-Chapter 106: Transcended bloodlines
Things don't last forever, that is the absolute rule of reality.
It was barely a week since the divorce, but there was an extreme shift in her father's personality as that sudden happiness with her daughter seemingly came to an end in just one night.
As if a different person with a different set of values and thoughts took over his body.
With his personal assets that were kept after the splitting, her father used them to create his own personal works and began pursuing his own agendas under a different identity.
Prin's father was aware of his own daughter's hero activity, so perhaps he was simply mimicking her, that was what she thought at first.
But all of his personal activities were outside the oversight of the Hero Association, an association he himself helped found.
Due to her father's recent behavior, the Hero Association began to remove their ties with him, along with his powers within the association.
And with the destabilizing relationship, came the distancing, then after that the two rarely had the opportunity to talk to each other.
Unfortunately for her, that opportunity became completely impossible at a night where her father wasn't there to open her door.

"I recovered my dad's suit before the Hero Association got to it. Since he only made one of them, I thought he wanted it to not fall under anyone's hands."
Prin frowned and hunched over with a few coughs.
she's been talking for nearly two hours, her speech improved too, Ferris commented before anything else.
Thankfully, Magpie was there to provide a glass of water.
But before drinking it, Prin turned away from him and removed her mask and glasses.
... Ferris watched her with observant eyes.
"Did you know what your father did in that time?"
Prin turned around in a haste and shook her head before clumsily trying to put her mask and glasses back on.
"No, you don't need them," Ferris said, but it felt more like an order to which Prin followed with a terrified expression.
Now that her face was cleaned up, there was an even clearer resemblance.
Ferris rested his head on his palms while he intently stared at her face and sighed.
"Hah... why do you look exactly like your father," he exclaimed with a tone of disbelief and wonder in his voice.
Prin was taken aback. "H-how could you know?"
How could I have known? Ferris also asked himself that question.
It's unfortunate that Prin and her father became distant, so she wasn't able to tell much about him during those tiring times.
Ferris could only guess what Yaromech was doing in this world, why he made that suit, and what kind of missions he was partaking in alone.
I assume that knight I saw in Judas' and Kerios' memories was him.
Since he inhabited a rather powerful man, I guess he already had the necessary information built inside to start answering the questions that even I don't know exist.
...Wait a minute.
Ferris suddenly frowned in a pent up expression.
Prin instinctively backed away in her seat as he did so.
He got inside a rich ceo while I got this body instead. So unfair...
But Ferris shook his head. His state of identity, although he knew that it was separate, was actually unified seamlessly thanks to his first encounter with the Dreamer. So it felt like he was lowering himself and his standing.
I'd say I did more in this body than he could have ever done if we switched places, Ferris assured his ego with a smile.
Other than those filler thoughts inside him, Ferris decided to help Prin with her situation.
She's a victim of this strange phenomena, as a knight and as a friend to Yaromech. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
It's my obligation to help her understand.
"I knew your father."
Prin tilted her head. "How?"
It was a natural response. If this were an ordinary situation, then Ferris would've been a child like her back then, but this wasn't an ordinary situation.
Of course, Prin broadened her assumptions after her fathers death, she had a few ideas regarding people like Ferris.
"You're aware of the concept of transmigration, yes?"
Hearing that word, she knew where Ferris was getting at and that terrified her.
To thought that the version of the father she loved was a completely different person was a terrifying idea.
Prin didn't know what to think as her eyes began to fade into obscurity.
"It isn't like that. As far as I know, your father was still your father. He just had a change in personality, that's all.
I promise you that," he said with a sure tone.
Even a being like the Dreamer confirmed that fact, such as with the example of Miss Evening.
"...Are you... also the same?"
Ferris stared at her gaze, her eyes becoming shallower like the reefs of beaches.
Urgh... don't look at me like that.
Considering the Dreamer's words that Ferris was a unique case, he answered honestly. "Not exactly the case, but yes."
He stood up and remembered the lines Prin spoke when they first met.
Walking over to her, he kneeled in front of her, tapping her shoulder. "Due to certain reasons, I consider you as a friend, and I hope that you could trust me from now on."
Yes, friend... Ferris thought embarrassingly.
He knew the depths and intricacies of the soul.
There must've been a reason why she inherited the traits of his former teacher, and if that fact were indeed true, Prin would technically be like a niece and he an uncle figure.
Mentally, I'm at the last stages of my young adult life... but that doesn't make me old.
As he had those thoughts, he failed to realize that Prin was having a mental crisis due to his abrupt actions.
Stepping back, he turned to the other side of the room and gazed at the distant town at night.
Magpie blinked and constantly shifted her gaze and head. "Will both of you not continue any further?" she said, sounding almost disappointed.
Ferris turned his face to Magpie and shrugged as a response.
After a while of calming down, Prin was able to speak without glitching. "T-thank you..."
He nodded and returned to his seat with tired shoulders.
A long silence appeared between the two of them, and knowing that Prin probably wouldn't say anything for herself, Ferris was the one to fill it up. "Could you tell me more about Magpie?"
Prin looked at the statue-like Magpie before looking back to Ferris.
"I wasn't really involved with her development, but my father was the one who created her."
"When?" Ferris asked.
"...Around the time he began to... change? Why?"
Ferris raised his eyebrows, only slightly, as his mind came up with scenarios and implications.
An android that mysteriously woke up for no apparent reason according to Prin.
He slowly turned his eyes to meet with Magpie's.
Who is she?
