SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 209: Is that All?
After the number changed to nine, there was a low rumble inside the room, and then a monster formed there. Standing at a massive three meters and more than twenty meters long was a salamander.
Aren looked at it with a lack of interest. "It’s a Peak Awakened monster, and they want five people to take it on? Are we really that weak in their eyes?" he muttered to himself. He turned his head to look at the fifth person, and it was another girl. She looked timid, with brown hair, purple mage robes, and a staff. Aren didn’t pay much attention to her. He turned away and then stood up.
The others in the room were getting ready to fight and take it down, but then Aren walked forward calmly and without preparation. The others were stunned. Did he have a death wish?
It was a known fact that every monster from the dragon family had very powerful abilities, and even if it was only an Awakened monster, it was still very terrifying and could probably rival early Evolved monsters.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" the burly chosen barked at Aren in anger. Aren turned around and looked at him with a confused expression. He pointed at the monster. "Are we not meant to kill that thing?" he asked.
"Huh? And you think you’ll just take it on alone?" the chosen asked.
Aren didn’t reply to that. He simply faced the monster and then spoke. "Come at me with your best." Instantly, the salamander rushed ahead, lunging at Aren with the intent to kill. It slashed at Aren, but he didn’t even move to dodge.
"I haven’t used this skill. I should try it out. Shadows form." As the words left his mouth, he instantly became a black ethereal figure, and the claws instantly passed through him without touching him at all.
A smile formed on his lips as he then lunged forward and threw a punch that slammed into the head of the salamander so hard it sounded like a gunshot.
BANG
The head was knocked back. It landed on the ground hard and then scurried a small distance away to gather itself before lunging forward again, only to attack and the same thing happened. Its claws passed through.
Seeing this, it retreated very quickly and then attacked with a powerful flame breath. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Oh, it’s not a lava salamander," Aren thought before summoning his gauntlet and then unleashing a claw strike that cut through the flames and hit the salamander right on the side, leaving a very deep gash. Blood gushed out, and the pain flooded its body.
It let out a cry and tried to retreat, but Aren didn’t have time for that. He stretched out his hands. Lightning crackled around his hands and then concentrated right on his palms. He unleashed a blast that tore through the air and slammed into the head of the salamander and instantly killed it.
"That took longer than I wanted," he muttered. The others were shocked when they saw what happened, how he had easily taken it down, but before they could react in any type of way, more salamanders were suddenly summoned, a total of four.
"Oh, it makes sense now. It was never going to be that easy," Aren spoke with realization. "Sadly, I don’t have the time for any of this at all," he stated as he summoned multiple shadow wolves and salamanders.
Instantly, his summons all lunged at the salamanders and attacked ferociously, killing them in less than a minute.
Instantly, the set was refreshed and now six salamanders came, and this time they didn’t wait, instantly rushing toward Aren.
"It doesn’t matter what you send or how many you send. It’s not going to work," Aren said as his summons fought against them and won again.
Somehow, the sight of Aren being the one taking them out repeatedly pissed off the guy. He walked forward and grabbed Aren by the shoulder.
"Hey, what the hell do you think you are doing?" he barked.
"Uhm, handling the situation," Aren replied casually.
"And who said you can take all the kills, huh?" he barked again.
Aren looked at him like he was some sort of retard. "There is no benefit to the kills. We don’t even get soul fragments for leveling up. They are just projections or whatever," Aren stated. Then he pulled the guy’s hands off him and turned to look, seeing that seven salamanders had come.
"Don’t attack them. We want to also partake," the guy said.
"I don’t," the mysterious guy said.
"Same, if he can handle it, let him," the female chosen stated as well.
The shy girl looked away like she didn’t want to be a part of this.
The guy frowned deeply. He grabbed his sword and pulled it out.
"I’ll be handling it now," he said.
"Get out of my way." Aren didn’t even take him seriously as tendrils wrapped around him and threw him to the wall. He hit the wall hard and left a crack there.
Aren then looked at him. "Do not delude yourself that we are on the same level because we are both chosen," he spoke, a small amount of pride coming from his voice.
"Arghhhhhhhhhhh!" The guy let out a thunderous roar. His entire body suddenly burst with energy, his veins bulged and glowed red. He broke out of the tendrils and landed on the ground.
Aren smiled as he faced him. He allowed his shadows to take care of the salamanders while he faced the guy.
"I am Roy Warblade. I’ll show you what happens when you disrespect the Warblade Family." He roared and then charged forward. His body moved faster than the speed of sound in an instant, covering their distance while slashing down with all his strength.
Only for his attack to pass right through Aren and hit the ground, slashing deep and causing debris to explode in every direction, but Aren was totally unharmed.
"Is that all?" Aren asked.
