Chapter 26: 26. According to the Plan (2)

Drax smirked, unfaltering in his expression as he stood between the Saurian King and the two lizardmen who had brought him.

His eyes moved to the sides, tracking the movements of the rest of the saurian tribe that surrounded him as he calculated his next move.

Drax didn't need a soothsayer to know that Borun and Akan sold him out.

No. They were never allies to begin with.

As they had planned to use Drax and offer him to their king without any trouble, so also did the elf prince plan to use them to draw closer to his target.

Drax turned his head to the side, staring at the two behind him.

Just then, he noticed more of the guards rushing into the throne room and amid this new squad he recognised Chaka.

Seeing Chaka, Drax made his conclusion — everything Borun and Akan had told him was a lie.

A false story that was cooked to gain his mercy and let them live.

'The rest aren't a problem...' Drax thought to himself as he internally assessed the group of lizardmen that surrounded.

However, with the Saurian King, he was a bit more meticulous.

Drax was confident that he had a high chance of killing him but if he was distracted by the sheer number of the other lizardmen, this would prove to be troublesome.

The elf prince sighed as he lowered his head.

Without another sigh, he tore apart the rope that was used to bind his wrists, shocking Borun, Akan and the rest of the lizardmen tribe.

"Hmmm," the king harrumphed, seeming a tad impressed by the strength of his potential foe.

Drax messaged his wrist, numbing the hot sensation he was feeling as he had used his fire magic to set himself free.

Effectively utilising this period of time where nothing happened, Drax used a basic fire manipulation spell to weaken the threads of his bind and then tear them apart.

"Kill him!" the Saurian King yelled out, pointing at the sole stranger in their midst.

With the king's orders an eruption of battle cries echoed within the throne room as every lizardman present in the throne room charged toward Drax with their crude weapons.

Surely, the elf prince was outnumbered.

But then, the tribe of lizardmen were outclassed by this young elf.

Drax shook his head as he watched them approach him, wondering what level of folly it took to come to a gunfight with a knife.

They just saw him use a fire spell to burn through his rope.

...Or did they think because it was a small flame, that was all he could conjure?

If that was the case, then it was even more laughable how stupid they were.

What could their spears and knives do against his magic?

Drax took a fight stance, striking the coolest pose that he could conjure inside his mind as he always imagined himself doing back on Earth.

It was his time to enjoy this protagonist-esque type of situation and Drax swore in his heart to make it as cool as ever.

With a smug face and both arms stretched out, Drax conjured up two magic circles that suddenly grew larger than their original sizes.

"Ignis..."

The air around the prince started to get hotter by the second and the lizardmen couldn't notice this since they were not in such proximity yet.

A tad orangish light started to manifest from the circles and it was with this that some of the lizardmen halted, almost rethinking their intentions of attacking the elf, but they dared not resist the orders of their king.

"...Engulfium!"

From the magic circles that floated in front of his palms, outbursts of flames travelled forward and in the direction of the lizardmen, burning through whatever it was that stood in the path as long as it held a lower resistance.

Some of the lizardmen were caught in the fire and cries of anguish were loud in the room.

Some others managed to escape and ran helter-skelter around the room.

There were still a few who wanted to kill the elf and searched for him amid the chaotic scene, but Drax was nowhere to be found.

As a 3-star sorcerer, Drax clearly outclassed these creatures, both in magic and physicality.

There was only so much that they could do against his attacks, and that is if they could at all.

Swoosh!

A whiff of air blew past the group so fast that they could not catch the figure that blitzed past them.

All the while, Drax held a smile on his face as he enjoyed every moment of this.

Bullying his foes after he had lost to Madame Coletta was certainly what he needed to boost his confidence.

Several panels from the system popped up from the left, right and centre but Drax paid no heed to them just yet.

He knew whatever information they carried now was going to be about what he gained from killing some of the lizardmen but until then, the panels would wait.

When he was done with the quest, he would settle down to look at everything so far.

Shing!

Drax's short knife shone as he leaped up over the Saurian King, ready to crash down on him with the weapon.

(Queen Freya's Castle)

A figure entered the elf queen's room while she was laying on the bed and sleeping.

This person moved noiselessly in the dead of the night as if intentionally not wanting to wake the queen but this failed.

Freya's eyes shut open and she turned immediately to look at this figure.

Seeing the person she sat up straight on her bed and with a snap of her fingers, tiny sparks flew towards the candles that were next to her bed, illuminating the room.

For some who had a visitor at midnight, Freya showed no signs of worry or fear whatsoever.

"What is it?" she asked curtly, prompting the figure to go down on one knee with head bowed in respect to Freya's position as queen.

"My Queen..." the figure said.

"...there is some trouble."
