Chapter 123: Chapter 123

Becoming the center of attention is not exactly a pleasant experience, and Shuichi had already guessed this would be the case. And indeed, it turned out to be true.

During class, many girls drifted off, glancing in his direction. Even the teacher paid more attention to him.

It made it so that he couldn’t even space out and play with his phone.

The only one who remained unchanged was An, who, as usual, paid attention to the class and answered questions seriously, making the teacher proud.

But this left the trio puzzled.

"Is the class president face-blind? How can she resist looking?" Rina exclaimed, pulling at her hair in confusion.

"Maybe she’s just seen him too much in private. You know, even the most beautiful things, if you see them too often, they start to lose their appeal," Ako, who was sitting behind her, sighed, feeling a bit frustrated.

When she wasn’t thinking about romance, everything was fine, happy even.

But now that she understood what being in love felt like, it was clear she could never compete with the class president, and it certainly wouldn’t be her turn. That made things difficult.

"How could she possibly be tired of looking at such a handsome guy? That’s way too luxurious!" Risa, who sat next to her, bit her nails, her eyes almost turning red with envy.

The third period in the morning was Literature class. When Sumire walked in, she seemed a little uneasy, but she couldn’t help but glance at Shuichi.

She wanted to see if that brat was once again glaring at her with inappropriate eyes.

But as soon as she looked at him, she froze.

This damn guy... Why does he look... so much more handsome today?

Crap, I can’t take my eyes off him...

Why is he winking at me?

No, this is bad. My heart is speeding up. Why is this happening? There’s no way I could be attracted to this jerk!

Sumire, pull yourself together!

"Ahem, so, what were we supposed to... talk about in today’s lesson?"

An immediately raised her hand, her little face stiff, and in a cold tone, she reminded, "We were supposed to talk about..."

Shuichi watched Sumire’s amusing reaction with a playful glint in his eyes. He thought to himself, It’s true that good looks can be deadly... so effective with little effort.

But, honestly, it felt a bit boring. There was no real challenge in it.

It was far more interesting to tease a cute teacher with smooth lines on top of just looking good.

His gaze shifted again to An’s slender back, and he silently wondered, aside from someone like Kitagawa-san, who was also extraordinarily beautiful, would the silly girl really remain unaffected?

As expected, she’s a fool. Her dullness is impressive. Besides food, there’s probably nothing that could really move her.

The whole class was a struggle for Sumire, and Shuichi wasn’t comfortable either. Having everyone watch his every move—it’s a feeling only those who’ve experienced it can understand.

It was extremely awkward.

After finally making it to the end of class, Sumire quickly covered her racing heart and fled the scene in a hurry. She felt like her reaction today was completely abnormal.

This felt bad.

Getting attracted to a student... isn’t that too strange?!

"Chiba, wanna go to the bathroom together?" Uchida was even more excited than Shuichi himself. He intentionally spoke loudly, hoping everyone would notice that their relationship was something special.

"Sure," Shuichi replied, since he actually did need to go. After three classes, he hadn’t been to the bathroom.

The two left the classroom under the gaze of everyone, and once again, they were surrounded by intense stares and a barrage of gossip.

"I say, Uchida, don’t you feel awkward? You’re obviously a total introvert, and you must hate being the center of attention like this." Shuichi remarked, puzzled.

"Yeah, that’s true, but don’t you find it infuriating, this whole first, second, third-tier, rotten school hierarchy?"

"So what if I’m an introvert? So what if I’m into anime? Just because I’m not a ’normie,’ does that mean I’m inferior? I haven’t eaten their rice, so why should they look down on me!"

Uchida grumbled angrily, then smirked with a hint of sarcasm. "Now, look at how these ’normies’ are reacting. Don’t you think it’s kind of amusing?"

Shuichi couldn’t help but glance at him, patting his shoulder. "Don’t waste your time thinking about that stuff. Just live your own life. Don’t worry about what others think."

"I’m just saying," Uchida shrugged.

The two entered the bathroom, and the other boys unconsciously stepped aside to let them pass, but soon, the entrance was blocked by a group of girls.

If it weren’t for being in such a public place, some of them might have just barged right in.

"Seriously, I can’t keep looking this good anymore. I don’t have any privacy left." Shuichi sighed helplessly.

Uchida gave him a speechless look. "Your problems are really something else, you know that?"

As the two casually chatted and finished up, just as Shuichi was pulling up his pants, someone suddenly approached.

"Shuichi? That’s you, right?"

Shuichi turned to look in the direction of the voice and saw a sporty guy with a handsome face, accompanied by another boy who seemed cheerful and upbeat.

Immediately, his senses went on high alert. He remained calm and asked, "What’s up?"

Japan, school, bathroom, and being cornered...

Put those keywords together, and it didn’t sound good.

Shuichi narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking about how to handle the situation. He had only been working out for a few days, and even with some improvements, he was unlikely to be a match for someone who had been training for years.

Looks like he’d have to win through surprise.

Should he grab his belt and strike first?

Go for an eye poke?

A low blow?

Wait a minute, this is the bathroom. The mop... hmm, like Tom Cruise.

Although it would definitely be effective, he wasn’t really feeling it. It would ruin his image too much.

Or maybe just shout out toward the door—something like, "Any brave lady warrior wants to deal with these two troublemakers? I’ll take her on a date!"

With his current level of handsomeness, a female knight might actually show up, right?

Being the prince waiting to be saved doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

Ugh... What is this nonsense?

By the way, this stupid system—doesn’t it have any safeguards for administrator safety? If I get hurt, wouldn’t the customers be upset?

That should count as a "customer’s demand," right? The all-powerful butler should be able to handle it?

Wait a second, if this were following the plot of an anime or novel, I’d probably get injured and end up in the hospital, with the customers visiting me one by one—or even together.

Then, some unspeakably wonderful things would happen...

Maybe I’d even encounter a gentle and beautiful female nurse? Or a female doctor?

Shuichi, lost in his thoughts, let his mind wander further and further. Meanwhile, the sporty guy was also distracted. He hadn’t seen Shuichi’s face earlier, only his back, and thought he was nothing special.

But now that they were face to face, he was instantly shocked.

"He’s this handsome?! There’s no more to say, losing doesn’t seem unfair..."

"I say, can you two stop staring at each other and actually talk?!" The cheerful guy, leaning casually against the bathroom stall door, covered his face with a mix of frustration and amusement.

The sporty guy snapped back to reality, feeling embarrassed. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Ahem, well, it’s nothing. I just wanted to see what kind of person could win over Akiyama-san’s heart. Now I get it."

"Heart?" Shuichi’s corner of his mouth twitched. Does that idiot girl even have a heart like that? I’m pretty sure she only has a heart for food.

"Yeah, I used to write love letters to Akiyama-san, but I was ruthlessly rejected. So, I wanted to know where I went wrong. Now, seeing you, Chiba-san, I understand."

The sporty guy shook his head wistfully. He had always thought he was handsome enough, but meeting someone like Shuichi, who seemed unbeatable, left him with no choice but to accept the situation.

"Wait a minute," The cheerful guy shook his head from the side. "Chiba-san only dressed up this handsomely today. He wasn’t like this before, so it’s not just his looks that beat you, Yūsuke."

The sporty guy, named Yūsuke, froze and looked at his friend with a stiff expression. Are you serious? I’ve already given up, and now you bring this up?

But, oddly enough, he became curious again. How did I lose?

"Chiba-san, can you help me understand where I went wrong? I’m not trying to be persistent, I just want to know what I missed."

Shuichi felt a bit disappointed. You corner me in the bathroom, and this is what I get? It wasn’t exciting at all. You’re completely failing as a villain.

Looks like the hospital scenario is out of the picture now.

Shuichi glanced around and noticed that Uchida, that untrustworthy guy, had mysteriously disappeared.

The other students were no longer gathered nearby, likely to avoid being caught in the crossfire. Instead, they were clustered at the door, quietly watching to see how things would unfold.

As for Yūsuke’s question... Shuichi clearly couldn’t tell him the truth, but given the guy’s earnest attitude, ignoring him would be rude.

After thinking for a moment, he lowered his voice and adopted a somewhat mysterious expression. "Well, this is... a bit hard to explain."

"Hmm?" Yūsuke raised an eyebrow, then turned to his friend. "Ren, you go wait for me at the door."

The cheerful guy, Ren, immediately pouted but didn’t argue. He left without further complaint, also keeping an eye on things to make sure no one interrupted.

"Now, no one will hear us," Yūsuke said solemnly.

"Sigh..." Shuichi sighed, as if not wanting to bring it up. "The class president is interested in me mainly because I’m easy to bully."

"Huh?!" Yūsuke froze, his expression puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"You know it yourself. Whether it’s the president or the president’s little sister, they both have this imposing, untouchable air. They’re always cold and strict with everyone."

"I get that," Yūsuke said, admitting it was precisely that type of personality that attracted him.

"You’ve only seen their more restrained side," Shuichi continued seriously. "They’re actually even worse behind the scenes."

"Worse... what do you mean by that?" Yūsuke’s heart skipped a beat as he began to worry about what might be coming next.

"Like the class president," Shuichi said, his tone almost deadpan. "Whatever she says, I have to do. If she points east, I can’t go west. If she says ’ramen,’ I can’t eat rice."

"The president also likes to lecture people, often verbally humiliating me, sometimes even slapping my palm, or giving me physical punishment." Shuichi said earnestly, because it was all true.

When the class president says what to eat, I have to eat it. The president constantly calls me ’perverted young master,’ which is obviously an insult. She really does slap my hand.

It’s just... well, with her butt.

As for the physical punishment... Yeah, it’s been happening every day. I’m exhausted.

Yūsuke was absolutely stunned. He hadn’t realized the president and her sister were so... ruthless behind the scenes?

"...Chiba-san, you’ve been suffering," He said sympathetically, patting Shuichi’s shoulder.
