Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 94: Hello, I am here
"Commander?!" The officer asked in a hurry as he saw the commander walking out of the room, her blazer no longer on her back and her aura instantly gaining the attention of the other officers.
Veronica gave out the command, "If you can’t contact the Delta force, then prepare a red notice against them."
The officer was taken aback by those words. A red notice meant a request for inquiry, and the Commander was asking it to be issued against a whole team operating in the main city.
But it was understandable too, since they hadn’t responded to the emergency calls they have been sending for the past ten minutes. The emergency, naturally, concerned the resort.
They have lost all their contacts with the officers who were on the site. All the surveillance around the place wete glitchy and couldn’t report what exactly was happening at that place.
Naturally, in their profession that meant something severe has taken place.
Under such circumstances, they tried asking help of those who were near that region...only to get ignored.
"Are you going there now, Commander?" The vice-commander asked in a heavy voice.
Veronica nodded, "I am. Send forces after me."
The man was taken aback, "You aren’t going to travel with them?"
Veronica didn’t respond. Once she reached the exit of the base, she gave him one last glance before bursting into a sprint; her figure vanishing from the sight instantly.
She had a very bad feeling about this whole situation.
.....
’I couldn’t keep up...’ Layena thought as she remained kneeling on the ground, her surroundings still chaotic.
Monsters kept charging at her like wild beast, the thunder halo she has created out of sheer desperation than anything was not slowing then down.
They kept throwing themselves at her as if their lives mattered something even if they landed a scratch on her.
They kept pouring over and over, and her halo was turning weaker by the second. She doesn’t have a deep well of Genesis like Ethan nor she was in her optimal state to use her skills at the best.
She was injured, bleeding and exhausted. Her shoulder was throbbing and arm trembling. Her old wound was again opened up and a few ribs snapped.
Her face had turned pale and right now, she herself couldn’t believe that she was about to give up. But that was the truth. She was...on the edge.
She knew even if the whole team came over, they wouldn’t be able to take her out of his whirlpool of monsters. The Ghouls were hell bent on hunting her down today.
Her breathing grew shallow, eyes darkening. She couldn’t see hope. She has failed. She couldn’t protect anyone...forget about others...she couldn’t protect herself.
This was...really the end for her.
"I am sorry, Commander...but I am resigning now."
She muttered under her breath, ready to fall and give up.
But then, a flicker of Genesis jolted her awake.
Her eyes snapped open, heart suddenly turning heavy as she glanced around to see if a senior officer had arrived.
This presence....this didn’t belong to Amanda or anyone from the team.
She looked behind, towards the resort, and then her eyes caught it.
The sight of a person she wasn’t expecting here.
The same being who has humiliated her, and the person she was supposed to catch during this trip.
’...but how?’ More than the shock of seeing the rogue one here, what bewildered her was the display of power he was showing right now.
If her nearly fading consciousness could catch his presence then surely the Knull Residents did as well. And they were not going to spare such a profound Genesis holder
However, as if he was surrounded by an invisible barrier, none of the monsters could reach him. Every claw, every bite, they all were striking something against the dense and unflinching.
"That ..isn’t a barrier." Layena muttered under her breath.
It was no force field but raw Genesis. Beautiful, flawless and smooth despite the chaos surrounding the man.
Those beasts kept charging at him. Slowly, their focus shifts from Layena to the unexpected appearance of the hooded being.
However, despite the surging numbers, he remained nonchalant. She has never seen someone retaining their confidence despite being so surrounded.
’Exactly how strong is he?’ She wondered, but that thought didn’t linger for long as a sharp pain caused her to bend over.
Clutching her chest, she barely suppressed the cry daring to escape.
The halo was about to vanish and there were still hundreds of monsters around. Sure, their attention has diverted but some of them still lingered, especially the ghouls.
She gritted her teeth, ready to use all her remaining strength to break into a sprint.
But then, "It’s okay. I have got you."
"Uh-huh?" Layena was taken aback as suddenly her whole body was lifted into strong arms. Her thunder halo finally vanished once it struck a wolf on the side.
Layena found herself once again at the centre of the storm but the difference was, she was no longer fighting or protecting herself.
She was, as well, surrounded by the gen-blanket that utterly disregarded every attack launched at them.
Layena slowly turned her eyes and looked into his green ones.
She remembered those eyes.
Not from the time she saw him in the alley...but, someone she saw on the bus.
"You...are Kyle...aren’t you?" She asked, her throat dry.
He didn’t respond. There was no acceptance but he didn’t deny as well.
She bit her lower lip as she saw him slowly heading back to the resort.
He ...saved her.
.....
[Goddess of Love squeals at the budding romance.]
[Task: Give her a head kiss to comfort her]

[Myuri crosses her arms in denial.]
[Task: Toss her into the horde]

Kyle rolled his eyes ...now who the hell was this? And why was Myuri suggesting something so extreme?
Regardless, Kyle continued to move towards the resort but didn’t quite reach the entrance. If he did, the monster would follow. That’s why,
"I will create an opening. You go back to Amanda." He said in a soft voice, already lowering her to the ground.
Layena barely controlled herself as her feet touched the ground. Her body was quite weak, she realized after receiving a few moments of rest.
Layena glanced at the bunch of monsters constantly charging at him before she asked, "How can you create an opening in this?"
Kyle smirked behind his mask before he whispered, "Come forth."
His golden bow appeared in his hand, nearly making Layena jump away.
Layena marveled at the sight of something so beautiful and well-crafted. Not only that, it withheld a dense amount of Genesis. It wasn’t violent or chaotic, rather gentle and poised.
The appearance of the Aquillia had gathered the focus of every Knull resident. They all were wary and at the same time furious why they felt wary of it.
Even the ghouls were now forcing the majins to tear Kyle down.
Kyle grinned, ’This is exactly what I wanted.’
He glanced at Layena, who stared back at him anxiously, before he gave a nod and burst into a sprint—away from her.
"H-huh?" Layena was flabbergasted by the sudden move. Watching him running away left her bewildered, her lips parted agape.
"What are you doing?! Come with me!" Suddenly, Amanda shook her awake and pulled her back toward the resort.
Layena now realized that every single Knull resident had left her side as if they had forgotten that she was a Nightwalker too. As if...they got bored of her.
.....
Kyle continued to run and run. He knew there was no limit to the Golden Limb. He has used it for more than two days back in Aleda’s realm.
However, he couldn’t continue this. Soon, the authorities would arrive here and they would surely capture him.
He couldn’t have that. So, the first thing he did was,
"Hello!" He waved at the moustache man who instantly straightened up and found his eyes widening.
Kyle, with his eyes smiling, hopped his way towards the man who was already waving his both arms in desperation.
Kyle didn’t listen and continued his charge, and when he reached him, Kyle just wrapped his arms around the man’s barrier—
"No!!"
—causing many monsters to strike their claws and jaws into the barrier.
The moustache man was ignored till now because of his faint presence. The monsters were very much focused on Amanda and Layena until now.
But, now, Kyle is here. And he wouldn’t let the elderly one get ignored by the lot.
With a grin, he watched the guy cursing at him like he was rapping.
Just then, he received a notification,
[God of Mischief looks at you with interest.]
"...." Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
