Chapter 1329: I’ll Kill You If You’re Naughty

So, the Yin Horse Carriage can get attacked as well?

Along the way, the Yin Horse Carriage had passed through all sorts of anomalous and dangerous places like it owned it. That was why Ye Qing thought that the Yin Horse Carriage possessed some sort of ability that made it immune to the Strangers’ attack.

Now though, he thought differently. Yes, the Yin Horse Carriage was special to be able to pass through most of these locations freely, but it also had another out when things got dicey: the good old brute force!

The Yin Horse Carriage returned to normal after it left the bronze coffin.

When it was passing through a vast wasteland that was really a giant mass of wriggling flesh and blood, Ye Qing suddenly felt a strange power involving time and space wrapping around him. It seemed to be trying to teleport him out of the carriage.

Ye Qing’s eyes glinted as dark yellow light shone around him. He became as heavy as the earth and seemingly as vast as the endless realms themselves, immovable even by time and space.

Because of this, the power could not unseat him at all.

Seemingly sensing Ye Qing’s resistance, all of the black fog within the Yin Horse Carriage surged toward him. At the same time, Ye Qing felt an even greater power trying to dislodge him and throw him off the Yin Horse Carriage.

“Young master!”

Papersmith also noticed that something was amiss and tried to help him.

“I’m fine.”

Ye Qing calmed Papersmith and grew a few inches taller instantly. His profound light and his aura grew stronger, and the incoming black fog was dispelled via brute force.

For a time, Ye Qing shone like the sun and purified everything within fifty meters of him. The zone he had marked for himself was inviolable.

“Neigh!!!”

Ye Qing’s resistance utterly angered the Yin Horse Carriage and caused it to stop in its tracks. As the horses whinnied, an innumerable amount of restrictions lit up on the carriage. Then, the black fog surrounding the Yin Horse Carriage abruptly burst into flames.

In just the blink of an eye, the Yin Horse Carriage was wreathed in terrifying black flames.

The black flames did not seem to have a temperature, but it was overflowing with seemingly infinite intent of destruction and desolation.

As soon as the black flames appeared, the wasteland of flesh and blood actually began withering at a visible rate.

Seemingly sensing an existential crisis, the wasteland kicked up tidal waves of flesh and blood in an attempt to destroy the Yin Horse Carriage. It was easily tens of kilometers tall.

However, the black flame ignited the tidal wave as soon as it got close to it. Then, the flesh crumbled into pieces and lost all vitality in no time.

The wasteland of flesh and blood fought tooth and nail to survive, but it was futile. It wasn’t long before the whole place was burned down into a scorched wasteland.

It wasn’t just outside the carriage either. Inside the carriage, the black flames were spreading as well.

In fact, the black fog was thicker inside the carriage, so the black flame was stronger as well.

The terrifying black flame burned even Papersmith’s paper puppets into ash. Papersmith himself looked terrified as if he knew he could not block the black flames.

It was at this moment the silhouette of a bronze bell descended from above and covered Papersmith completely.

The encroaching black flames were unable to find purchase as soon as they made contact with the silhouette, much less destroy it.

“The Earthly Sovereign Bell!”

Papersmith realized what was happening and looked in Ye Qing’s direction. He immediately saw a dark yellow bell floating above Ye Qing’s head and unleashing thick waves of profound light.

“You can’t hurt me with these black flames, so stop wasting your energy.”

Ye Qing began, “Yin Horse Carriage, I know that you have a mind of your own. Why don’t we speak—”

He was interrupted before he could finish. The black flames grew even stronger and condensed into many flaming horses with a pair of wings on their ribs. They looked handsome, savage, and terrifying.

The next moment, the horses whinnied soundlessly and charged toward Ye Qing.

Thang thang thang!

For a time, the bell rang again and again, and the profound light flashed on and off. Like moths to flames, the flaming horses were crushed back into black flame as soon as they made contact with the silhouette of the bronze bell.

More flaming horses were still charging though. They would not stop until the bronze bell was broken.

“Hmph! If you won’t accept my toast, then you shall drink a forfeit instead!”

Ye Qing grunted and tapped a finger against the Earthly Sovereign Bell.

Thang!

A grand chime rang, and a profound light illuminated the cosmos.

Every flaming horse crumbled into nothing in an instant.

Not only that, every wisp of black flame that was touched by the profound light was frozen in place and disintegrated into nothing.

“Neigh!!!”

Outside the Yin Horse Carriage, the four old horses let out terrified whinnies. The Yin Horse Carriage itself was making noises like it was angry or afraid. Its malice only thickened over time though.

After the black flame extinguished, it transformed back into black fog and surrounded the Yin Horse Carriage.

This time though, the black fog purposely avoided Ye Qing and Papersmith’s location. It no longer tried to attack them.

“Now we’re talking.”

Ye Qing smiled while holding the Earthly Sovereign Bell on his palm. “Drinking forfeit when you can have toast benefits no one, am I right?”

The black fog churned, and malice rippled. It was clear that the Yin Horse Carriage was furious with Ye Qing’s words, but still, it did not act on its emotions.

Seemingly satisfied with the Yin Horse Carriage’s reaction, Ye Qing continued, “First things first, I came today not to attack you, but to ask you to lend me your aid.”

“Three days ago, you delivered some of my friends into Void Stomach City. I would like you to bring them out.”

The black fog stirred a little as if shaking its head.

“What, you don’t want to?”

A dangerous glint flickered in Ye Qing’s eyes, and the Earthly Sovereign Bell shone brightly and chimed softly in response. “Do you want to test my willingness to kill you then?”

For an instant, the Yin Horse Carriage sensed a threat that could end it where it stood. The old horses neighed, and the black fog shuddered.

“You can’t bring them out?”

Ye Qing harrumphed. “You can send them in but not bring them out? Who are you trying to fool?”

The black fog wobbled and shook as if explaining something.

“So, you’re saying that you have your rules, and those places have their own rules, and you can’t interfere with their rules. However, you are the one who dumped my friends in those places and subjected them to mortal danger. You should take responsibility for this, don’t you think?”

Ye Qing said coldly, “You have three breaths to give me a satisfactory solution. Otherwise, I will destroy you.”

Three breaths later, the black fog wobbled as if giving a tearful answer.

“You can send me to the Void Stomach City? You want me to save my friends myself?”

Ye Qing’s voice grew even icier. “If I have to do all the work, then what do I need you for?”

“Oh, you’re saying that you can help us escape?”

Ye Qing rubbed his nose and fell silent for a moment. Heavy darkness seemed to be lurking within his pupils, and the Earthly Sovereign Bell was flashing erratically because of it. He looked incredibly intimidating as a result.

The Yin Horse Carriage was certainly intimidated. The old horses stopped whinnying, and the black fog stopped moving. They were afraid that the wrong reaction would trigger Ye Qing into saying screw it and murdering them.

“I guess it’s my only option.”

A long time later, Ye Qing finally let out a sigh. However, he asked another question, “But how can I trust your words? How do I know that you won’t trick me and send us elsewhere? How can I be sure that you wouldn’t run away and abandon us as soon as you deliver us to Void Stomach City?”

The black fog wobbled.
