Chapter 1351: Void Stomach City Is No More

“From this point onward, there is no longer a Void Stomach Ghost King or a Void Stomach City!”

Ye Qing looked up with a smile and declared matter-of-factly. It sounded like he was stating an ordinary fact, but it landed in the Yin Coachman and everyone in the Yin Horse Carriage’s ears like a thunderclap. For a long time, no one could even think a thought, much less say a word.

They were only jolted out of their reverie when Ye Qing leaped into the air and landed on top of the carriage.

The Yin Coachman subconsciously took two steps away from Ye Qing. His gaze was both afraid and wary.

It was both because Ye Qing’s aura was too strong, and because his killing intent was still rolling off his person like tidal waves. He knew with absolute certainty that Ye Qing could kill him if he wanted to.

That was why he was scared, stunned, wary.

“Relax. You’re not my enemy, are you? Why would I kill you?”

Ye Qing smiled as he shrank back to his normal size. Blue Demon had also pulled back into his body. In just the blink of an eye, he looked like a cultured and refined gentleman once more.

“Let’s go. This place isn’t safe anymore. Something is coming.”

The Yin Coachman dared not dilly-dally. He waved his sleeve to summon a gust of black fog that recreated the four horses once more.

They looked much smaller and weaker than before though.

The next moment, the Yin Coachman swung his whip lightly. The four horses neighed and pulled the Yin Horse Carriage into the sky.

Not long after the Yin Horse Carriage left, a blue tidal wave washed over the area and enveloped the ground ravaged by the inferno of yin fire.

However, a closer inspection would reveal that the blue tide was, in fact, no water. It was insects; countless dark blue-colored insects that were as tiny as a bull’s hair. There were just so many of them that at a glance, they looked like water.

The insect tide ebbed and flowed at the area repeatedly as if devouring the remnant energies of the Void Stomach Ghost King. Just a dozen breaths later, the entire patch of land had sunk ten meters into the ground.

That wasn’t all. The blue insects began growing translucent wings with bits of yin fire on them. Then, they took to the sky and flew toward a certain point in the horizon like a storm, consuming anything and everything in its path. Mountains fell, bodies of water dried up, plants withered, and living creatures perished.

Ye Qing had no idea about this happenings, though he wouldn’t care even if he did. After all, the insect tide could not catch up to the Yin Horse Carriage.

Ye Qing did not reenter the carriage. Instead, he sat next to the Yin Coachman on the shaft and admired the wonderful scenery around him.

The Yin Coachman did not object to his presence. He wouldn’t dare even if he had a problem with it.

Speaking of which, the Yin Coachman had withdrawn his deadly, terrifying aura completely. His face was still blurry, but he seemed no different from an ordinary coachman right now.

It wasn’t because he wanted to. He simply did not want to provoke the monster sitting next to him if at all possible. He did not want to follow in the Void Stomach Ghost King’s footsteps.

Wait a little, and the wind will calm, and the waves will become silent. He could celebrate after he delivered this monster to his destination.

Ye Qing was unconcerned with the Yin Coachman’s petty scheming. His attention was drawn by the magnificent sights all around him.

Although he had already seen them once, it was through the narrow, limited perspective of the carriage window. Now though, he could admire it all to his heart’s content.

Besides, the places the Yin Coachman passed through were full of mysteries and anomalies. The sights during the return trip were not the same as the departure. So, it was novel and interesting in its own right.

The Yin Coachman wanted to get rid of Ye Qing as soon as possible, so he chose the shortest path back to the human world. Because of this, it took them only an hour to reach their destination. The Yin Horse Carriage even chose to land at White Horse county to avoid Ye Qing nitpicking its services.

As soon as the Yin Horse Carriage delivered them to their destination, it turned around and left without a second thought. It only wished it could grow a couple more wheels so that it could leave Ye Qing behind even a few seconds sooner.

“Heavens, look at it. Am I that scary?”

Ye Qing rubbed his nose as he stared at the Yin Horse Carriage’s rapidly vanishing back.

“What do you think?” Gu Suitang and his friends rolled their eyes. If they were the Yin Horse Carriage, they would only run faster.

“I was going to thank it, but well, whatever.” Ye Qing shrugged. “There is always next time.”

“Next time?” Fang Xiaoman accurately grasped the hidden meaning behind Ye Qing’s words. “What do you mean? What did you do?”

“Hehe... the Yin Horse Carriage is such a useful tool. It would be a waste to use it once and never again, don’t you think?”

Ye Qing let out an enigmatic chuckle but did not explain himself. Instead, he looked at the people he saved—right now, they were howling to the sky, weeping with joy, or not reacting at all due to how overwhelmed they were feeling—and let out a soft cough.

That was enough to cause the agitated crowd to fall silent. They were all looking at Ye Qing with reverence and gratitude.

After all, Ye Qing had rescued them from the sea of bitterness. How could they not be grateful?

“What are your plans now that you’ve left Void Stomach City?”

The crowd exchanged glances with each other but did not give him an answer.

Ye Qing asked, “What’s wrong? Speak!”

Mountain Water Old Man stepped forward and saluted him. “Do you have any instructions for us, warrior?”

Ye Qing smiled. “Oh? You’ll do whatever I say, is that it?”

Taoist Tiger spoke up. “scion, you saved us from that eternal purgatory, Void Stomach City. This is a debt that can never be repaid. Whatever instructions you have for us, we swear to carry it out even if we must die a million times to see it done.”

“Your will be done, scion!” Everyone else cried out in unison.

“It was a joke. Please, don’t be like this.”

Ye Qing began smilingly, “I promised you I would save you if you help me locate my friends. You fulfilled your end of the deal, and so did I. So, we no longer owe each other anything. What you do from here on out is your choice; freedom. I won’t interfere with any of it.”

“That said, I do have one request. I ask that you do not commit villainy. I know that all of you have suffered greatly in Void Stomach City, and that your personality has been warped to an extent. However, that is fine by me. I don’t care if you are bloodthirsty or cruel. I don’t care if you kill a villain or a former foe. But if I ever find out that you turn your blade against the innocent, if I ever hear that you belittle your fellow human lives and massacre them as you please, then I will find you and end you.”

“Stay in line, or pray that I never find out. Otherwise, I will make sure you wish that you are dead even if you run to the ends of the earth!”

“Trust me, I am not kidding you.”

Ye Qing was wearing a small smile the entire time he was speaking. His voice was warm and gentle as well. And yet, everyone felt afraid and reverent from the bottom of their hearts like they were facing a true god.

Moreover—they wondered if it was their imagination—the taint, resentment, bloodthirst and more negative emotions that had been accumulating in their bodies for heavens-know-how-long were rapidly disappearing. Even their minds felt much clearer and purer than before.

“We would not dare!”

“We would not dare!”

Everyone bowed their heads and responded obediently.

“Good. Remember your promise.”

Ye Qing withdrew his aura and waved. “That’s all I have to say. You may leave now.”

“Thank you, senior!”

“Goodbye, senior...”

No one suspected a thing. If Ye Qing really wanted to kill them, or if he was plotting something, well, he could just take from them directly. There was literally no one here who could go against him, not even if they charged him together. With that said, how could they resist? Why would they even think to resist?

That was why they could take Ye Qing’s words at face value. The young man really was planning to set them free.

After thank Ye Qing for the millionth time, the crowd finally took their leave.
