Stranger Danger-Chapter 1682: My Dad Is The Pingshun King
The next moment, his eyes widened. The man lightly tapped the table once, and their accumulating true qi, strength, and momentum all disappeared into nothing. The tigers had turned into lambs in an instant.
Half Sage?
Crouching Tiger immediately felt cold sweat pouring down his forehead. He knew then they had hit the wrong target. Anyone who could disintegrate his strength and force with such ease must be unfathomably powerful. They must be a Half-Sage at the very least.
There was no way he could handle a Half-Sage, so he immediately summoned his backer. He was just the employee anyway. It was his boss’ responsibility to bear the consequences, not him.
“This junior apologizes for failing to recognize Mount Tai, senior. This junior humbly begs for your forgiveness. This young man here is the heir apparent of the Pingshun King. Please understand that he is young and ignorant and show him some mercy.”
“King Pingshun? Never heard of em.”
Ye Qing set down his chopsticks and cast Crouching Tiger a look. The only one who hadn’t figured out the situation was the so-called heir apparent of Pingshun King. He somehow broke through his restrictions using some sort of method and shouted, “You useless pieces of garbage! I told you to kill him!”
“But not the woman! The woman must be captured alive!”
“Calm down, my lord.” Crouching Tiger’s back was drenched in sweat. “We are in the presence of a Half-Sage. You mustn’t be impolite.”
“So what if he’s a Half-Sage?” The heir apparent scoffed. “My dad is the Pingshun King. Like I’m scared of a mere Half-Sage!”
“Surrender now and apologize to me while you still can, you two. Otherwise, I promise you won’t step out of Xijing alive.”
“How boastful!”
It was at this moment someone taunted, “If I didn’t know better, I would think that the Pingshun King is the current Son of Heaven!”
The heir apparent erupted when he heard this, “Who said that? Show yourself now!”
“As you wish.” A tall, muscular man stepped out into the open. “I am here. What are you going to do to me?”
“You—” The heir apparent turned toward the man with his mouth already open to throw up a litany of curses, but the words died when it reached his lips. As if someone was choking him, he suddenly could not say a single word.
“You may not be afraid of a Half-Sage, but what about a Sage? Are you afraid?” The tall, muscular man said disdainfully, “Maybe a Sage means nothing to you either. What about the master of the Martial Garrison then? Are you afraid?”
“I... you...” The heir apparent was slackjawed and stupefied. He could not even say a full sentence.
“Tsk tsk... I thought you’re afraid of nothing because you’re the Pingshun King’s son?”
The tall, muscular man sneered while tapping the heir apparent on his head. “I guess you haven’t completely lost your instinct after all!”
Maybe it was because he was afraid, or maybe it was because the tall, muscular man had done something to him. In any case, the heir apparent abruptly collapsed to his knees, and he just happened to be facing toward Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou.
“Greetings, Martial Sovereign.”
“Greetings, Martial Sovereign.”
It was at this moment Crouching Tiger and the guards and fell to their knees and saluted the tall, muscular man.
There was only one man in the entire Chu who could earn such respect and be addressed as the Martial Sovereign. He was the master of the Martial Garrison, the Martial Sovereign Xiahou Zun.
“Oh? You’re saluting me? And here I thought you all only have eyes for the Pingshun King!”
Xiahou Zun let out a cold chuckle. “If you recognize me, then who gave you the gall to cause trouble in my domain?”
“And who gave you the gall to offend my honored guests?”
We apologize, Martial Sovereign. We do not know that they were your guests. Please forgive us!”
Crouching Tiger hurriedly tried to explain himself. With the Pingshun King as their backer, it was true that there were only a handful of people in Xijing and even the entire Wei that they couldn’t afford to offend. Unfortunately for them, the Martial Sovereign was one of those people.
“Forgive you?”
Xiahou Zun scoffed, “If you make a mistake, then you must pay for it. In my view, there is no such thing as a mistake that should go unpunished.”
Snap!
Once he finished, Xiahou Zun took a step forward.
The noise sounded like nothing to the others, but Crouching Tiger and the guards abruptly shuddered like they had been struck by lightning. The next moment, their pupils dilated, and they all stopped breathing at the same time.
They were dead.
“Ahhhh!”
The heir apparent was so frightened that he fell on his bum. When he saw that Xiahou Zun was looking at him, he immediately started shaking like a leaf. He stammered, “Y-you can’t kill me! My... My dad is the Pingshun King! He will never forget it if you kill me!”
“Trying to intimidate me with the Pingshun King?”
Xiahou Zun stepped on the heir apparent and broke a few of his ribs instantly. “Do you really think I would be scared?”
“Would you believe me if I say he wouldn’t do shit if I kill you right now?”
“Argh!”
Gripped by terrible pain, the heir apparent opened his mouth and let out a bloodcurdling scream. However, he was just starting when Xiahou Zun ordered in a cold voice, “No screaming. Do that again, and I will kill you immediately.”
The heir apparent immediately shut his mouth and clenched his teeth tightly. He did not dare to make a peep despite how much pain he was in right now.
If someone else had made the threat, it might have entered one ear and exited the other. But since Xiahou Zun was the one speaking, he did not dare to disbelieve it.
After all, Xiahou Zun had once killed a prince of Wei. Killing an heir apparent like him was nothing at all.
Sure, his dad was the Pingshun King, one of the few Kings of Wei with military merits under his belt and true authority in his fists. He commanded an army of hundreds of thousands as well. Even his mother was the previous Saintess of the Demonic Mountain. In a sense, he was even more noble than some princes.
However, such nobility meant nothing in the eyes of Xiahou Zun.
“Remove this eyesore and tell the Pingshun King to come and get his son.”
Unwilling to afford the heir apparent even a side eye any longer, Xiahou Zun ordered, “Do not treat him unless the Pingshun King shows up in person. If he dies, he dies.”
“As you command!”
Lingyu replied and hurriedly dragged the heir apparent and the corpses away. It wasn’t long before the entire room had regained its cleanliness and tidiness. It was as if nothing had ever happened.
“That was impressive, senior!”
After Lingyu and everyone else were gone, Ye Qing got up to his feet and clasped his hands in front of him.
“Heh! If you’re willing to join me, then you will become the vice master of the Martial Garrison. You’ll become just as impressive as me then!” Xiahou Zun guffawed.
Ye Qing smiled slightly. “If I am still alive after I took out the Four Evils, then I’ll consider it.”
Xiahou Zun smiled. “You are as strong as you are fortunate. I am sure you’ll be able to slay the Four Evils and fulfill the Earthly Sovereign’s last will.”
Ye Qing poured Xiahou Zun a cup of wine and saluted him. “I shall borrow your lucky words, senior.”
“Bah, stop calling me senior. Call me brother.”
Xiahou Zun drained the cup in one gulp before greeting Feng Qingyou. Then, he said, “First things first, I apologize for showing up late. I was busy with certain matters and did not think that a worm would find the opening to slip through the cracks.”
Ye Qing raised his wine cup in toast. “You flatter us, senior—excuse me, I mean brother. Why would we blame you for the incredible hospitality you have shown us?”
“Hahaha... I know you’re an understanding guy, brother.” Xiahou Zun poured himself another cup. “A toast to you two!”
The trio began making chit-chat after that. None of them even thought about the heir apparent of the Pingshun King during this time.
