Stranger Danger-Chapter 1750: Entering the Land of Endless Day

“Is big sis Feng entering the second level of the Sage-stage?”

Lingyu might be lacking in cultivation, but her horizon was pretty broad.

“She already has,” Ye Qing answered.

As if on cue, Feng Qingyou began walking toward them.

Each step spawned a small auspicious cloud underneath her feet. Her world was also following behind her.

For a short duration, Lingyu felt an indescribable pressure pressing down on her. It felt like a world was collapsing on top of her, or a god or a demon was charging toward her. And she? She was just an ant, no, a speck of dust, utterly incapable of defending herself. A single breath or a casual wave of the sleeve could probably end her existence thoroughly.

In fact, Lingyu wasn’t the only one who was sensing mortal danger. Old Man Turtle’s senses were screaming for him to defend himself as well. His face was as solemn as it was astonished.

When Feng Qingyou reached them though, the pressure and energies abruptly disappeared into nothing. It was almost as if everything that happened was just an illusion.

“Congratulations on entering the second level of the Sage-stage, Qingyou. The Great Way has many mountains, and you have just scaled another one!”

Ye Qing immediately clasped his fists and congratulated her upon her return.

“Thank you.” Feng Qingyou returned the salute. “Let us continue supporting each other in our Ways.”

She was thanking both Ye Qing and the Earthly Sovereign.

Without Ye Qing, she could not have met the Earthly Sovereign and received his gift. Without the Earthly Sovereign’s gift, she could not have entered the second level of the Sage-stage so quickly.

“Congratulations!” Old Man Turtle also congratulated her.

“Thank you, Old Man Turtle!”

When Lingyu regained her senses, she grabbed Feng Qingyou’s arm and said enviously, “You’re incredible, big sis Feng!”

“You will reach this level eventually.” Feng Qingyou patted her head with a smile on her face.

“Hehe, I’ll definitely be like you in the future, big sis Feng.”

The girl was delighted by Feng Qingyou’s remark. She then clenched her fist and declared, “Actually, no, I’ll surpass you in the future, big sis Feng.”

“Ambitious!” Old Man Turtle smiled. “You must work hard then.”

Ye Qing smiled. “Do your best. I believe in you.”

While the group made chit chat, the sun had already risen halfway to the sky. The Divine Sun General had also flown his chariot into the sky and disappeared together with the luans and phoenixes.

After the Divine Sun General disappeared, the Soup valley and the Fusangs slowly grew transparent as well.

Of course, the temperature of the Land of Endless Day was rapidly declining as well. It was still hot, but not nearly as terrible as it was before.

“The sun had risen. It’s time we depart.”

After the Divine Sun General disappeared, Old Man Turtle declared that it was time. Without hesitation, the group immediately rushed toward the Land of Endless Day.

The closer they got to the Land of Endless Day, the hotter the heat became. It was like approaching a furnace or a volcano.

When they set foot on the soil, it felt like they were standing on red hot iron. They could literally hear sizzling.

If they were an ordinary mortal, they would be thoroughly cooked the instant they set foot on the Land of Endless Day.

Luckily, everyone here was an exceptional warrior. This bit of temperature was nothing to them. They continued to travel forward at high speed.

It turned out that the scenery of the Land of Endless Day was pretty dull and monotonous. There were no plants to be found anywhere. There were only crystalline soil and meandering mountain ranges.

“Is that where the Soup Valley is?”

Not long after they flew, a tall and meandering mountain range entered their view.

The mountain range looked like a gigantic dragon or serpent lying on the ground. It formed what looked like a gigantic and bottomless valley.

Inside the valley, golden flames were burning strong.

“Correct. That is the Soup Valley.”

Despite being dozens of kilometers away from the Soup Valley, they could all sense its horrifying temperature as clear as day.

“Follow me.”

Old Man Turtle took the lead and guided the way forward.

They weren’t progressing in a straight line though. They weren’t even moving in a linear direction. Sometimes, they would move in a straight line. Sometimes, they would move in a jagged line. Sometimes, they would turn east. And sometimes, they would move north. It was confusing and puzzling.

“Why are we moving like a headless snake, Grandpa Turtle?” Lingyu asked in confusion.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you, but the Land of Endless Day is also affected by a bizarre phenomenon. Due to the light and some sort of mysterious power, our vision and even our spiritual sense are warped in some ways.”

Old Man Turtle explained, “If you do not know the truth and keep progressing in a straight line, not only would you fail to leave the Land of Endless Day, you would move closer and closer to the Soup Valley.”

“How strange!” Lingyu was both astonished and curious. “So, how did you avoid this effect and find the correct path?”

Old Man Turtle answered, “It’s simple. Just feel it!”

Lingyu was confused by this answer. “Feel it? How? I don’t feel anything.”

“I’m talking about the temperature.” Old Man Turtle chuckled. “There are no usable references in the Land of Endless Day. One’s vision and spiritual sense are unreliable as well. However, the one constant of this place is temperature.”

“The temperature of the entire Land of Endless Day is based on the Soup Valley. It gets colder the farther away you get from the center. In other words, the Soup Valley resides where you feel is hottest.”

“By sensing the temperature, we can easily determine the location of the Soup Valley and subsequently the direction we should be heading. This prevents us from being confused by our vision and spiritual sense.”

Lingyu blinked once and paid him a compliment. “I see! You’re incredible, Grandpa Turtle!”

“Hahaha... this is nothing!” Old Man Turtle was obviously delighted by her praise. “There are probably only a handful of people in the world with a better grasp of the Land of Endless Day better than me.”

Old Man Turtle was telling the truth. His grasp of the land of Endless Day far surpassed your average person. With him acting as their guide, they did not encounter any danger or stray off the right path at all.

Without him, this would have been a much more harrowing and lengthy journey.

“Elder, the sun is about to set. We should find a place to hide soon.”

Traveling for over twenty hours straight did not strain Ye Qing, Feng Qingyou or Old Man Turtle much. However, Lingyu was panting hard. Her complexion was red, her lips were dry and cracked, and she was both tired and thirsty.

Of course, this wasn’t the important point. The important point was that the sun was about to set.

Their first trial in the Land of Endless Day was going to arrive very soon!

“Alright... there!”

Old Man Turtle observed their surroundings for a bit before leading them to a low-lying ground.

Obviously, the ground was safer than the sky.

After they landed on the ground, Old Man Turtle’s turtle shell flew into the air and turned into a house. It landed squarely on the earth.

“This is the Spirit Turtle Hall. It is heat resistant to an extent. We can rest here,” Old Man Turtle told them.

“Thank you, elder.”

Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou thanked the old man, but Lingyu didn’t wait. She crawled into the house as if she couldn’t wait to get away from the heat.

“Wah! It’s so cool!”

She meant it literally. The girl let out a cheer as soon as she entered the Spirit Turtle Hall.

There were watery ripples inside the Spirit Turtle Hall, but they felt like nothing when touched. The air felt cool and wet, and being inside the Spirit Turtle Hall was like being in the middle of a mountain or a field. It was cool and refreshing.

Not only that, the Spirit Turtle Hall was bigger and more extraordinary on the inside than it looked from the outside.

The interior of the Spirit Turtle hall was decorated by coral reefs and strange rocks. Spirit flowers were blooming, strange grass was swaying. There were even a few rare and precious fishes swimming here and there. It was less of a hall and more of an underwater world. It was beautiful.
