5th Zone, City A - Wilderness

Jeremy Night gave a glance back before fleeing from the place. He quickly disappeared into the woods. The wild centipede forgot about the enemy.

Now, it was feeling extreme pain. The wild centipede moved and disappeared back into the forest.

Time went by.

Jeremy found a secluded spot half an hour later. It was a huge boulder located behind a natural mound. The boulder rock gave safe cover.

He sat down on a small rock. He then began to observe the surroundings. His gaze swept over the place. There was no sign of corrupted beasts nearby.

So, he began to rest.

Buzz!

The unknown beast egg began to absorb the natural energy. Seeing that, he felt relieved. He wanted to recover his starlight power.

As time went by, the starlight liquid began to refill the space inside his mental zone.

One hour later.

He resumed the journey.

Time went by.

Some of the remaining Red Moon Chamber’s Beast Tamers had successfully escaped back to the city. Yet, there were a few who remained in the wilderness.

They were all being chased by the Skull Gang members. They were looking for an opportunity to leave, yet the Skull Gang members were determined to kill each one of them.

But the Skull Gang had suffered casualties as well. Some of them died during the battle.

Jeremy Night killed a few of them as time went on. This time, he had not come across corrupted beasts, which saved him a lot of time.

Not long after.

"Who are you?" A scar-faced middle-aged man blocked his path.

Jeremy saw that the middle-aged man was wearing a sleeveless shirt. There was a skull tattoo on his left forearm.

Slash!

Without responding, he slashed at the middle-aged man. The blade tore through his chest, leaving behind an open gash.

Pfff!

Blood spurted from the wound. The middle-aged man lost his vitality. He didn’t expect the young man to attack him all of a sudden.

The middle-aged man died with regret.

Jeremy didn’t bother to dispose of the corpse. He knew that the blood would attract the corrupted beasts in the wilderness.

They would take care of it. He continued to move randomly. On the way, he cleared out the obstacles. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

As time went by, he came across Beast Tamers from other forces. Because of his eye ability, he was able to spot them before they could see him.

So, he decisively changed his route to avoid them. But he understood that a lot of time was being wasted. He was randomly looking for the Skull Gang members.

He believed that the survivors would have escaped back to the city. The unlucky ones might have faced fatal ends.

That night, he found a safe spot and began to ponder. He had spent more than one day and night in the wilderness. He was unwilling to continue.

He thought a lot of things would have happened in this time which he wasn’t aware of. There was a possibility for the fighting to come to an end.

"Okay. Let’s go back to the city in the morning," Jeremy thought.

Buzz!

Suddenly, the unknown beast egg inside the mental zone showed movement.

At first, he was not surprised. He thought the beast egg was going to suck the natural energy from the surroundings.

But nothing like that happened. Instead, the beast egg seemed to be restless. His eyes glinted with understanding. He had seen this phenomenon before when the beast egg found some treasure.

He stood up and started looking around. At one spot, the beast egg’s reaction was stronger. So, he followed the path.

The path led into the deeper part of the wilderness. He frowned. He had been avoiding going deeper.

This was because you could encounter Tier-5 and above Corrupted Beasts. The fight with the wild centipede had forced him to make some decisions.

He had come to the wilderness for a mission. He didn’t want to waste unnecessary time. But he changed his mind right now.

The unknown beast egg had always been picky. If it had selected something, then that thing must be extraordinary. So, he increased his pace.

An hour later.

He reached the location. In front of him was the skeleton of a dead beast lying on the ground. The skeleton alone stretched over 25ft. It was a four-legged beast.

But he didn’t know the species. Then he recovered his thoughts and focused on the beast egg’s reaction. His gaze sharpened.

There were no dangerous corrupted beasts nearby. The beast skeleton appeared to have been left over a long time ago. There was no sign of trespassing. He was the first person to come here after a long time.

Then he started paying attention to the beast egg’s reaction. The egg shook stronger when he stood near the skull.

The huge beast skull seemed to be abnormal. In order to confirm something, he walked around the skeleton.

The beast egg was reacting, but it reacted stronger when he was near the skull. His gaze then became focused.

He started using the second eye ability. The beast skull became transparent in his eyes. He saw beneath the skull. There was a tiny piece of rock. It was smaller than the size of a fingernail.

"What the f@ck?" He uttered the foul word in shock.

Not only that, he discovered that there was a small hole on top of the skull. His eyes glinted with understanding.

The small, fingernail-sized rock must have pierced the skull. The beast would have died from it. He connected the dots.

A cold shiver went down his spine. The four-legged beast skeleton was not ordinary either. From its size, it was possible that it could have been a Tier-6 or above Corrupted Beast.

To think such a beast had died because of a tiny rock. He was shocked to the core. How hard must the defense of the beast have been? Yet it was killed.

No wonder the unknown beast egg was reacting to it. He didn’t wait long. He started removing the fingernail-sized rock from the skull.
