STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 739: Frustrated Leader
Dark Swamp
The Tier-6 Beast Tamer saw that the target had managed to escape the spider web trap.
Gasp!
The Tier-5 Beast Tamers reacted with great shock. They didn’t expect the target to evade the attack from the Tier-6 spider.
They wanted to comment, but the fear of their leader stopped them from saying anything.
The face of the Tier-6 Beast Tamer turned ugly. He felt as if he had been slapped in the face by the target.
He had been avoiding killing the target personally at first because he feared potential trump cards, but he didn’t have that fear anymore.
He had seen the firearm; he thought the abnormal bullets were responsible for the injury.
He didn’t relate it to the Tier-3 Beast Tamer’s own power. Instead, he thought it could be a safety object given by the higher-ups of the Red Moon Chamber.
Swoosh!
He ordered the spider to chase, intending to follow it from behind. Before leaving, he told the members to stay near the dark swamp.
If someone ditched the mission and went back to the hideout for recovery, they would face enormous consequences.
Swoosh!
Seeing the fear on their faces, the Tier-6 Beast Tamer nodded before leaving. Once he was gone, the members looked at each other.
"What do you guys think of the mission?"
"The target has an unusual firearm which could hurt our lifeline beasts."
"It could be some latest tech."
"I saw it with my own eyes. It doesn’t appear to be the latest tech. The handgun was a basic model. There is something wrong with the bullets instead."
"Were they laced with poison?"
"But our lifeline beasts were not poisoned."
"Don’t know what’s going on. Only the leader can capture the person and interrogate him."
The five Tier-5 Beast Tamers discussed the situation.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Night was running non-stop towards the border without turning back. This place was new; even the border area was going to be new to him. He hadn’t visited this area before.
He felt tremors from behind. He was going through the forest cover to avoid the Tier-6 Spider Beast, but he was shocked to feel the ground shaking.
It showed that the Tier-6 spider had caught his scent and was now following him.
Jeremy’s expression darkened. He was already moving fast, but the boulders along the way were hindering his speed.
If he were delayed, he could face another spider web trap. He kept going through the forest non-stop, so much so that he ignored the possibility of other corrupted beasts hiding nearby.
Time passed.
The green cover behind him was overturned. The Tier-6 spider had already launched a few spider webs to trap him, but none of them caught him.
He was able to escape, but his mind was already weighing another problem.
He could take a detour to go back to the dark swamp and hunt down the Tier-5 Beast Tamers, but it involved high risk. If he made even a small mistake, the Tier-6 beast would easily kill him.
Meanwhile, the Tier-6 spider found it annoying. It had been chasing from behind, but the prey was slippery and it could not trap the target.
More than the beast, the Tier-6 Beast Tamer was getting frustrated.
He could come across higher-tier corrupted beasts; if other Tier-6 beasts saw his lifeline beast, a fight would occur. Then he would have to leave the target and escape. He didn’t want that to happen.
His face distorted. He ordered the lifeline beast to use poison. The poison spread fast; if the target smelled it, he would faint on the spot.
Boom!
After getting the order, the Tier-6 spider made a huge jump into the air. The next second, it sprayed venom all over the ground. The droplets fell like raindrops.
Sssh!
Upon touching the ground, it corroded the vegetation and the land. In the blink of an eye, the trees and plants in the surroundings withered. The poisoning was spreading to a large area.
The speed at which it happened was faster than the Tier-5 Black Snake and Red Scorpion from earlier. Neither of those beasts had a large-range poison attack that could affect acres in minutes.
Jeremy, who was fleeing, felt a sense of crisis. His X-ray vision showed the deadly green fog spreading rapidly. Wherever the green fog went, the vegetation on the ground withered at a faster rate, showing how potent the poison was.
Jeremy was sure that if he took even a small breath, he would die. His life would be over. He felt like he was dancing on the edge of a knife. One mistake could cost him his life.
Fortunately, because he had X-ray vision, he could see the green fog clearly, whereas it was invisible to normal eyes. That made the situation even more dangerous.
On the other hand, the Tier-6 Beast Tamer was unaffected by the poison because the poison was his awakened ability.
He saw the area becoming a poisonous land and was sure the target would be dead. He asked his lifeline beast for confirmation, but the answer left him speechless.
Their target was still alive and running away from them.
The Tier-6 Beast Tamer got angrier. He regretted not killing the target earlier. If he had made a move sooner, perhaps the target would have died in his sleep inside the tree hole. But he had underestimated him.
Not only him, any other Tier-6 Beast Tamer would have made the same decision in his place. He had never seen such a Tier-3 Beast Tamer before.
If the target were a Tier-5 or Tier-6 Beast Tamer, then he and his team would have been dead long ago.
A cold shiver went down his spine. Now he understood even more why the client wanted the target dead.
If you made such an enemy, you had to kill him fast. Otherwise, if he grew, the client would have sleepless nights.
At the same time, the corrupted beasts and the Beast Tamers nearby felt changes in the environment.
They were warned by their lifeline beasts and left the area. The corrupted beasts that were slower were poisoned to death quickly.
