STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 749: Search operation!
City-B, Wilderness
Jeremy moved through the barren land. His whereabouts couldn’t be hidden, and he felt the gazes of the Beast Tamers on his back.
However, they didn’t do anything to him. As he got closer to the location, he came across corrupted beasts, but they were all lower tiers.
If it were the City-A wilderness, he would have come across Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts already.
He quickly went past them; the beasts posed no threat to him. He wanted to reach the rumored location faster. Soon, he came across more and more Beast Tamers.
They were all in groups, searching the ground. Seeing this, he stopped in his tracks.
His gaze swept across the area. He took out his device and checked the coordinates to see if this was the original spot.
He verified that this was the place and that he could start looking for the relic now. Unlike the others, he didn’t just pick a random spot.
He directly used his second eye ability. His X-ray vision activated, allowing him to see through objects, trees, and rocks.
As time passed, someone noticed a strange kid standing near a tree, observing the people. They were surprised; they thought the young Beast Tamer might have come here with a team.
They didn’t disturb him at first. As more time passed, some people became annoyed by the kid’s presence because he wasn’t doing anything but looking at them. It made them uncomfortable.
Among them was a hot-tempered individual. A burly, middle-aged man nearby grew annoyed and walked toward the kid to drive him away.
"Hey, kid. What are you doing here?"
"If you want to search, then search. Don’t just stand there and stare at people," he said.
Hearing that, Jeremy was stunned. He hadn’t been looking at the people, but at the ground. There was nothing underneath the earth here.
The barren land exposed everyone, and their actions couldn’t be hidden. He nodded to the burly man before turning around to leave.
Seeing the kid’s reaction, the burly man was stunned. Regardless, it was good for them. He then went back to his team.
The others nearby were surprised as well. They hadn’t expected the kid to leave so easily, but it was a relief for them.
Swoosh!
Jeremy moved fast toward the next location. He had thought the place would be dangerous, but the semi-desert land was plain and vast.
If they wanted to do a wilderness mission, they might have to go deeper to a place filled with vegetation.
Just as he was moving across the plain, he saw small rocky mountains ahead with a path running through them.
Seeing this, he quickened his pace. When he got closer to the entrance, he felt an uneasy sensation. He immediately used his second eye ability.
His X-ray vision saw through the area, especially the boulders blocking the view.
He saw black-clad Beast Tamers hiding behind the rocks. They were there for an ambush.
Jeremy’s eyes turned cold. This place was perfect for an ambush. The footpath cutting through the rocky mountain area was not ordinary.
He unsheathed his blade and started moving forward.
Swoosh!
Not long after, the black-clad people appeared. They were carrying weapons. Six of them were there, and they were all Tier-4 Beast Tamers.
"A mere Tier-3 ant. Kill him and take his storage ring!" one of them shouted.
A middle-aged man with a sinister face rushed forward, a knife in his hand.
Seeing this, Jeremy smiled. He didn’t even use his starlight power; it was the right time to test his sword skills.
Swoosh!
The sinister man launched the knife at him. When the blade was about to land on his face, Jeremy moved.
His senses were heightened and his eyesight was sharp. He caught the trajectory of the knife and shifted his body to avoid it.
Punchak!
He swung his blade. The edge traced a small arc before sweeping through the neck of the man.
A red line appeared on his throat. A second later, a torrent of blood emerged from the wound.
The man fell to the ground, clutching his neck.
Seeing this, the others gasped in surprise.
Boom!
The next second, they summoned their lifeline beasts and continued the attack.
Jeremy saw plant- and tree-type lifeline beasts. It was rare to see these types, though everyone here seemed to have similar species.
He figured it was related to the city; such beasts were likely commonly found here.
Boom!
A mass of roots rushed toward him. It was a standard capture attack. They thought they could defeat him by restraining him.
But they were wrong. He moved his blade and struck the roots before they could touch his body.
Cut!
The roots were cut into small pieces one by one, falling to the ground. In a flash, his blade penetrated the trunk of the small tree-beast.
Pfff!
A green liquid splattered across the ground.
Jeremy withdrew the blade and struck the others. Each move landed with precision.
His blade passed through the lifeline beasts easily; the plant types were simple to chop down. These Tier-4 Beast Tamers had unfortunately met their match in him.
In the blink of an eye, they all received the backlash from their beasts’ injuries and fainted on the ground.
Jeremy spared their lives before continuing his journey. When he walked out of the mountain area, he saw a massive dry lake ahead.
There was only a small quantity of water left, but there were a few groups of Beast Tamers there as well. There was nothing obvious to find in the dry pond.
Yet, these people were desperate. They wanted at least a clue. Jeremy moved closer to the dry lake.
He saw a few of them in the middle of the lake, digging. He was stunned by their effort.
He approached the lake and began using his X-ray vision once more, seeing through the rocks, pebbles, and the dry earth.
He wanted to find what was hidden underneath the ground. There could be some important hidden underneath the ground.
