Strongest Boyfriend In The Apocalypse: Every Girl Depends On Me!-Chapter 31: The Woman On White
A young lady was walking in the woods all alone, her eyes observing every point and corner in vigilance.
Dark-faced, sharp-eyed... That was one of the inevitable features of Nina Ortega.
After escaping from the Special Force, Nina had been wandering alone in the woods for hours.
"RARRRRRR..."
A zombie was spotted staggering towards her from the near distance, yet Nina didn’t flinch. With a murderous look on her face, she grabbed her short knife and stabbed the zombies right in the middle of its head before it could even raise an arm, sending it to fall straight to its second, final death.
THUD!
She continued walking, acting so calm like nothing had actually happened. However, if one wasn’t told, they wouldn’t know that Nina had actually been encountering countless of zombies since she entered the woods.
Slow ones.
Fast ones...
Even the zombies that had gotten wise enough to use several objects as weapons.
She had already gotten to understand that these zombies were evolving, and this had given her every to be more careful with the monsters.
While she was still walking to only heavens knows where, she suddenly spotted a creature not quite far behind a tree.
It was a living creature...
Like a really living creature.
She couldn’t remember when she last saw an animal, and most of the zombies already devoured them.
An antelope.
Nina stomach rumbled the moment she remembered she hadn’t taken another meal since after Ethan fed them the previous day.
She knew she needed to kill this one or she might never find something to eat for the rest of the day.
Surviving in the woods isn’t that easy, and she wouldn’t want to get into the streets often not to get caught by the Special Force.
She knew that they were eager to find more survivors, and out of all the group, only Nina happened to have understand what the Special Force were planning to do.
Unfortunately, the Special Force officers had seized her rifle before they led to the van...
The only way she could kill the antelope was to deliver some close range masterpiece attack, which was obviously hard.
Nina still tried her best. It was better to try and fail than not to try at all.
Those words her mother had said to her before she joined the Military Academy.
It didn’t take Nina long before she figured out a plan.
Grabbing hard on the knife, she quickly hid behind a nearby tree, making sure that the antelope didn’t spot her.
And fortunately, it didn’t...
It raised its head after hearing a slight creaking sound, and then without spotting any signs of threat, he returned to feeding on the grass.
Nina smiled.
Time to strike?
Yeah!
After years of training as a sneak attacker in the Military Academy, making aiming strikes was not much of a big deal for her anymore.
She tree she was hiding behind was having an almost straight time to the tree next to the antelope, and at this point, all she needed was a sharp throw.
A sharp, accurate throw of the knife to its head could result to good news, and that was her goal.
Nina gave it a good look and heaved a sigh, and then without wasting any more time, she threw the knife with every force possible.
WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!
Within seconds, the knife hit the antelope, and as hoped, right in the head and gave a strong, deep pierce.
It was a successful strike, and Nina smiled when she noticed it.
However, she soon frowned when the antelope shockingly managed to run, leaving the scene with full speed.
She frowned not because it was escaping, but of course because it would stress her to look for it because she knows fully well that it was going to die.
Immediately, Nina set up and and attempted to follow up before it goes to far.
But then, another sound from another direction suddenly drew her attention.
Turning left, she suddenly spotted a figure on white running deeper into the woods, like it was escaping from something or perhaps... Someone.
It was a human... Nina soon realised it, as her eyes glinted in curiosity.
She quickly dismissed her plans to go after the antelope and followed up with the figure on white.
Not wanting to be left with so much gap, she fasten her pace and soon started observing clearly.
It was a woman who had her hair covered with a scarf. With the way she was running, Nina got more interested to know why, and mostly where she was heading.
Someone running that fast must have where they she was heading, right?
She soon observed the surroundings to know if any monsters was chasing her from any direction, but she couldn’t find any.
At a point she was beginning to consider if this lady from running from her.
However, that didn’t give her any reason to stop going after her.
Nina was following until they got to a sudden opening, and a cleared area could be found right within.
There was a white cottage and a pig farm in front of this building, but there was no sight of anyone except this woman who was trying to get in there.
Nina stopped the moment she gave a good observation of the place, and just when this woman was about reaching the house, she quickly turned to look if someone was following her.
She saw sign, and she appeared to be relieved. She stopped running and headed straight to the door.
Nina who was watching from behind the bushes saw her knock on the door, and watched her go in after it opened.
This revealed that she wasn’t alone in the house, and there could be a group of survivors inside there.
A sudden feeling to retreat suddenly hit her, as she stood up and attempted to head back.
But then, she halted.
She figured that before she saw this woman, she had no idea where she was heading to. She was probably going to starve if she didn’t see the antelope.
The Special Force might even be looking for her at the moment...
Although Nina wasn’t the kind that trusts people, but she figured she might just try to meet up with them, at least for the time being.
"Rescuing them is my priority, and to do that I have to be ready to get through the Special Force," she muttered.
"Let’s see if they can help me..."
"And if they can’t... I’ll do it myself."
She said and headed towards the cottage.
