Strongest Demigod System-Chapter 70: Lead
What would Azrael do if that was the case? Was he just going to give up on that mission until he could find someone else who had a similar God Aspect?
No, he wouldn't.
If the man was dead, then Azrael would look towards finding an artifact that had a similar property. There is a saying amongst the students of Divine Academy:
They say that there isn't a single God Aspect in the world that didn't have a corresponding artifact crafted for it.
That meant that if the child of Apollo was no longer alive, Azrael would have to find an artifact that was crafted to mimic the blessing from Apollo and use that instead.
The only questions now would be if that artifact was in the mortal realm or if it was still in the Null Zone.
The only way for an artifact to come into the mortal plane was for demigods who traverse into the Null Zone to bring them back. These artifacts are sold for very high prices – the most expensive known artifact was an A-ranked artifact brought back by a woman named Haoshu a long time ago.
The auction for the artifact was rumored to have gotten as high as ten billion dollars, but the actual price was unknown.
Even the least ranked artifacts, like the F-Rank [Shard of Aridite] that Azrael stole, would still go for an unbelievably high amount of money. Selling this artifact would probably make Azrael a few hundred thousand dollars on the black market.
But it was more useful to keep it and use it himself.
Azrael released a breath as he decided not to let the possibility of the man being dead get to him. Azrael was simply going to keep moving forward. If the man was dead, then he would find another path and walk that instead.

Azrael opened his eyes less than an hour later to see that it was nearly two in the morning. He had been meditating for a short time, so there wasn't much of a difference in his Lithany progression, but he could feel a sense of peace taking root in his heart, and he felt far less bothered by the things that were outside of his control at that moment.
Azrael went to sleep.

The next time Azrael saw something related to Harold Javier was when he was talking to Maddison the next day at dinner.
As usual, both of them were seated alone at a table close to the corner of the cafeteria. Students were muttering and chattering all around them, and the constant stares and jeers of distrust were still being thrown their way.
Azrael and Maddison were still keeping up the act that they were dating, and Azrael knew they would have to keep it up for a while longer so that the school didn't suspect anything. Azrael had already planned to fake a breakup soon, so for now, he didn't mind the attention.
Azrael was watching Maddison as she downed another large plate of spaghetti. Her mouth was slightly oily, and she used a hand to push a strand of her hair behind her ear before slurping up the spaghetti and chewing in ecstasy.
There was sweat on her neck, and she had loosened her tie and unbuttoned the first button in her uniform. This allowed Azrael to get a small peek at her fair skin when she bent over, exposing her collarbone and a flash of pink under her shirt.
Azrael felt the stirrings of arousal growing in him again at the sight of her pleased face, and he had to push it down quickly.
Azrael was a lot more in control of his emotions now that he was already meditating with the Lithany, but that didn't mean he was capable of erasing his emotions.
Instead, Azrael seemed to feel them more completely than before.
While his emotions were once only a small river surging through his body in an uncontrollable pattern, now they were like an entire ocean raging against a wild storm.
It was so much easier for Azrael to notice them.
And yet, Azrael felt more in control than ever before.
Azrael could not deny his attraction to Maddison, and he didn't blame his arousal on his lack of contact with women.
Azrael admitted that there was just something about Maddison that attracted him to her physically.
Maybe it was the way she always seemed to go along with his twisted plans. Or maybe it was because she was also a child of darkness who knew the same ostracization that he did.
Perhaps even, it was because of her appearance.
Azrael didn't bother trying to figure that out.
For now, it was nothing but a physical attraction. The kind of attraction that could be pushed down and forgotten about in time if you stayed away long enough.
Azrael felt his emotions more strongly, and yet he was more in control.
Maddison finally finished her plate of spaghetti, and Azrael pushed his own plate toward her with mild amusement. Azrael had already eaten before coming to school, so he wasn't really hungry.
But Maddison looked like she could eat a horse, so he made sure not to eat much so she could take the rest of it.
Maddison blushed at his gesture and thanked him gratefully before digging into the food.
They stayed in each other's company for the next few minutes, and Azrael just allowed his mind to trail back to thoughts of Harold Javier while listening absentmindedly to the chatter of students in the cafeteria.
Azrael had a meeting later with Scar to talk about the grouping for the bi-weekly team exercise that was happening this weekend.
Apparently, as the class captains, Azrael and Jane had to stay in the same team to show the rest of the class that they were a unified pair.
Scar had already gone out of his way to create their entire team for them, and Azrael just knew that it was going to be filled with people he couldn't stand. The smile Scar had on his face promised that much.
The meeting that Azrael had with Scar was for the creation of the other teams, and Azrael figured that Scar just didn't care enough to be bothered about the other students, so he was leaving the task to Azrael and Jane instead.
It was just like Azrael thought—they were nothing but glorified servants to the teacher.
"– Sunny said it was going to be held in the Harold mansion."
Azrael blinked and suddenly came back to reality as he heard something from someone at an adjacent table. It was a pair of girls that Azrael recognized from his year. They were not in Azrael's class, so Azrael didn't know anything about them other than their appearance, but it was what they said that caught Azrael's attention so suddenly.
Harold?
Harold Javier?
Azrael thought about walking up to the girls and asking them what they had been talking about, but that was only going to draw more attention to him.
Instead, Azrael turned to Maddison and asked,
"Hey, where is Sunny holding his party?"
Maddison had been wiping the oil from her mouth while setting the plates aside, and she looked up at Azrael in surprise when she heard him ask this question.
