Super Soldier in Campus-Chapter 771 - 776: Dare You to Pursue It?_1
"Ah!" Chen Qingyun looked down, finally letting out a scream of utter horror. "My hand is gone! AARGH! Save me, I’m bleeding so much! Save me! Ah... it hurts so much..."
Just then, the pain signals finally, belatedly, registered, and Chen Qingyun realized what was wrong with his hand... well, his entire palm was simply gone!
Long Xiaoyun watched Chen Qingyun hopping around, a mix of excitement and alarm on his face. He didn’t dare make a sound, terrified of provoking Chen Qingyun’s underlings and getting himself killed instantly. But Long Xiaoyun knew one thing for sure: his savior had arrived!
When the Qingzi Sect members saw Chen Qingyun’s gruesome state, they knew things had taken a turn. After a moment of panic, several men armed with guns moved to guard the doorway. No one dared stand in the unprotected entrance; they didn’t know what the dark shadow that had just emitted that piercing shriek was.
Meanwhile, a few other Qingzi Sect members frantically administered first aid to Chen Qingyun’s arm. They even found his severed hand, and one of them, fighting back nausea, took off a piece of clothing to wrap it. Modern medicine was very advanced; if a severed hand was sent to the hospital within a few hours, there was a chance it could be reattached.
By now, Chen Qingyun had somewhat recovered his composure. Gritting his teeth against the excruciating pain, he commanded in a low voice, "Everyone, grab your weapons and get ready! There’s an expert outside! Be careful!"
As the son of the Qingzi Sect’s Battle Hall Master, Chen Qingyun had encountered many experts. People like Long Tianyi and Long San were his father’s subordinates, and Chen Qingyun had even seen them injure people from a distance. He naturally knew he had just been ambushed by an expert using a hidden weapon. A flying knife?!
I can’t believe Long Shaotian has such a skilled flying knife expert backing him! I was careless! Chen Qingyun thought with regret. To ensure this operation to capture Long Shaotian remained inconspicuous, he hadn’t brought any experts, only ordinary underlings.
Chen Qingyun had assumed Long Shaotian was completely cornered, with no one left to protect Long Xiaoyun. Indeed, his capture of Long Xiaoyun had met with no obstacles.
But who was this flying knife expert who had suddenly appeared?!
...
Long Xiaoyun was curious, and so was Chen Qingyun. Both stared intently at the doorway, knowing that an expert of this caliber would have no fear of showing themselves.
Sure enough, they weren’t disappointed. Two tall figures appeared in the doorway, one after the other.
The man in front was tall and rather sturdily built, with short, bright hair. His smile was like ice, sending a chill through those who saw it. It was Lin Feng.
The tall, slender, and handsome young man behind him wore a roguish smile. As he walked, he casually flicked away a cigarette butt. His captivating, almost wicked gaze fixed on the Qingzi Sect members holding guns, a hint of mockery in his eyes and an expression like a cat playing with a mouse. He followed Lin Feng at an unhurried pace. It was Zhou Yang.
"Brother Feng... Brother Zhou... You’re finally here! I knew it... You really didn’t give up on me..." Seeing Lin Feng and Zhou Yang, Long Xiaoyun was so excited he almost jumped up. Unfortunately, the ropes binding him were too tight; he wanted to move but lacked the strength. He could only lower his voice, muttering to himself in a voice only he could hear.
"Chen Qingyun, what a coincidence. We meet again," Lin Feng said, glancing at Chen Qingyun’s severed wrist. His tone was cold, devoid of any emotion. "Aren’t you surprised?"
Surprised... To hell with your surprise!
Chen Qingyun’s face was ashen, sweat beading on his temples from the intense pain. He suppressed his agony, glaring fixedly at Lin Feng with furrowed brows, as if deep in thought. Surprisingly, he didn’t respond to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng wasn’t bothered by Chen Qingyun’s "rudeness." He glanced up at Long Xiaoyun, who had been badly roughed up, and his brow furrowed slightly. Then, ignoring the nearly ten Qingzi Sect members aiming guns at him, he strolled directly over to Long Xiaoyun. With a flick of his fingers, he severed the ropes binding Long Xiaoyun’s hands behind his back and helped him down.
"Brother Feng..." Long Xiaoyun looked at Lin Feng, both grateful and alarmed. He couldn’t understand how Lin Feng and Zhou Yang dared to walk into this house unarmed. The enemy had over a dozen armed men. Could Brother Feng and Brother Zhou really be impervious to blades and bullets?
"Don’t be afraid," Lin Feng said with a smile, shaking his head. He whispered, "Move your arms and legs a bit. I’ll take you home." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Home... Such comforting words. Hearing them, tears finally welled up and streamed down Long Xiaoyun’s face.
"Boss... what... what do we do now?" a subordinate standing beside Chen Qingyun asked, frowning as he watched Lin Feng. He didn’t understand why Chen Qingyun hadn’t ordered them to open fire. In this situation, with over a dozen of their men armed, they could take out the enemy with a simple twitch of their fingers. Why weren’t they attacking?
"Don’t act rashly," Chen Qingyun said through gritted teeth, shaking his head. His voice was hoarse.
The other underlings might not understand the true capabilities of real experts, but Chen Qingyun knew very well. A dozen or so guns might be enough to intimidate ordinary people, but against two experts, they were likely meaningless. Even if they all fired at once, the enemy was capable of wiping out at least half of them!
Chen Qingyun didn’t need to think hard to guess that Zhou Yang, covering Lin Feng from behind, was definitely no pushover.
Of course, if Chen Qingyun hadn’t been there himself, he might have ordered his men to open fire. But how could he risk his own life? Lin Feng’s flying knife just now had already scared the piss out of him.
This is what he calls not acting rashly? Is the Boss an idiot? The subordinate beside Chen Qingyun frowned, glancing skeptically at him and thinking resentfully. From his perspective, Lin Feng’s current actions were pure bluster and recklessness. All he had to do was gently squeeze the trigger...
The subordinate was tempted. His right hand, holding the pistol, involuntarily rose slightly, aiming at Lin Feng’s broad back...
"No..." Chen Qingyun saw the subordinate’s movement and frowned slightly. He was about to shout a warning, but it was already too late...
WHOOSH...
A short, extremely faint whistling sound passed by. Chen Qingyun couldn’t see anything at all, but he saw the subordinate beside him tilt his head back slightly. His body then stiffened. With a THUD, he fell backward. After a brief convulsion, his eyes stared wide, and he quickly stopped breathing.
"Ah!"
"What happened to Mr. Qi?"
"He’s dead?!"
Seeing the man beside Chen Qingyun suddenly collapse and die so bizarrely, the Qingzi Sect underlings erupted in commotion. They were terrified because no one knew how Mr. Qi had died.
"Enough!" Chen Qingyun suddenly roared in a low, angry voice. "All of you, quiet! Lin Feng, take him and go! We will not pursue this matter!"
"HEH..." Lin Feng suddenly turned back, a cold smirk on his face. He looked at Chen Qingyun and said lightly, "Would you even dare to pursue this?"
