Super Template System In Marvel and Beyond-Chapter 173: Yatan Church
Chapter 173: Yatan Church
As Malacus bound her and was taking her away, the only words that flashed through Irene's mind were, "Doran... please save me... Doran, save me, please!" She continued to repeat the plea mentally as Malacus dragged her along.
He emerged from the castle, which had turned into a bloody battlefield, with the Yatan Church clearing the path for him.
"Going somewhere?"
But suddenly, a voice echoed through the chaos.

Dave appeared in a flash, slashing through the Yatan priests blocking his way.
Irene looked at him as hope flashed in her eyes.
Malacus dropped her to the floor and sneered, "You're strong," he admitted as he eyed Dave.
"But I am more," he added, raising his hand.
"Dark flare!" he chanted, unleashing a cascade of dark flames infused with malevolent magic.
Malacus was a Third Advancement Black Mage NPC, a high-level dark mage, and his attack carried overwhelming power.
Dave looked at the incoming attack, dodging it effortlessly before countering with the 10,000 Army Killing Sword.
Unlike Malacus, who had to cast his spells, Dave's sword strike was instantaneous. Malacus wasn't able to dodge in time.
Dave was no longer the weak Level 1 warrior he once was. He had now reached Level 212, and with Advanced Sword Mastery, he had also unlocked Sword Sense, making his attacks faster, sharper, and far more lethal.
Sword Sense was another perk of Dave's legendary class—Undefeated King Madra's Successor.
It allowed him to be aware of everything happening within a 100-meter radius, extending his perception like sword energy itself. However, it came with a drawback—he couldn't use Sword Energy while Sword Sense was active. But that wasn't a major issue.
He rarely relied on Sword Sense unless he needed to avoid super-powerful magic spells. Most of the time, he used his Ultra Instinct to sense his surroundings, which worked just as well. That way, his Sword Energy remained available for combat.
Kuckok!
Malacus staggered backward, coughing up blood from the slash.
"You're really strong," Malacus admitted, his voice shaky.
But before he could finish his sentence, Dave attacked again and again, each strike faster than the last.
The best thing about the Madra's Successor class was that it carried the destructive damage of a magic class but without the long casting time. Unlike mages who needed to chant, Dave's attacks were instantaneous—and he unleashed them relentlessly.
Malacus gritted his teeth as he clutched his bleeding side. Dark energy surged around him, forming eerie purple flames.
"You may be strong," he growled, his voice laced with malice, "but power means nothing if you can't resist absolute darkness!"
He slammed his staff into the ground.
"Dark Judgment!"
A massive black sigil formed beneath Dave's feet, and within seconds, thousands of shadowy hands burst from the ground, grasping at him, trying to drag him into an abyss of cursed energy.
But Dave's expression remained calm.
"20,000 Army Killing Sword."
He swung his blade once—just once.
A sharp golden arc of sword energy expanded outward, cutting through the shadowy hands as if they were nothing but mist. The force of the attack shattered the sigil beneath him, dispelling the dark magic completely.
Malacus' eyes widened in disbelief.
"Impossible!"
Dave vanished from his position.
Ultra instinct allowed him to read Malacus' every movement, predicting his next spell before it was even cast.
WHOOSH!
He reappeared behind Malacus, his sword raised high.
"100,000 Army Massacre Sword."
A massive wave of sword energy erupted, swallowing Malacus in a golden storm of slashes. The entire battlefield trembled as the shockwave tore through everything in its path. The ground cracked. Buildings shattered. The Yaan Church's forces nearby were instantly obliterated.
Malacus let out a deafening scream, his body cut countless times, his dark robes now drenched in blood. He barely managed to stay on his feet, his breathing ragged.
Dave pointed his sword at the battered mage.
"I told you," Dave said coldly. "you are going to die today"
Malacus' vision blurred. His magic was powerful, but against Dave's sheer destructive force, he stood no chance.
Yet, he wasn't finished yet.
Coughing up blood, Malacus let out a twisted laugh.
"Fool... You think... you've won?"
Suddenly, the sky darkened. The air grew heavy.
A massive dark portal appeared above them, swirling like a vortex of pure corruption.
"Let me show you," Malacus whispered, his voice merging with the wind, "the true depths of Dark Magic..."
But before Malacus could attack, Dave struck once more.
"The thing is... I don't want to know what true depths of Magic is."
"100,000 Army Mortality Sword!"
Dave slashed, his muscles tightening. This wasn't just a simple horizontal swing.
As his sword moved, a massive cross-shaped slash erupted from the blade, cutting through the air at blinding speed.
Malacus' eyes widened as his body suddenly froze—locked in place by the sheer force of the technique.
"W-What...?!" he gasped, unable to move.
"100,000 Army Mortality Sword" wasn't just an attack—it was a binding and execution technique. The moment the slash connected, it paralyzed the target, forcing them to take the full brunt of the strike without the ability to dodge.
Malacus could do nothing as the cross-shaped energy sliced straight through him, leaving a deep gash across his chest.
He coughed up blood, his vision darkening.
Dave lowered his sword, looking at the defeated mage with cold, unwavering eyes.
"This is the difference between us."
He said as Malacus' health plummeted, his body trembling.
He fell onto the ground, his form beginning to dissolve into motes of light.
In this world, when NPCs or any strong entities die, they don't leave behind a corpse—they simply fade into light and vanish.
And Malacus was no exception.
"At... least... I... am... going... to... God... Yatan's... feet..."
Malacus muttered his final words, his voice weak and fading.
His body shimmered one last time before completely disappearing into scattered light, leaving behind nothing but the remnants of his dark magic lingering in the air.
