Surviving in a School of Ghost Stories-Chapter 91
The plan had been uncovered.
If I die this time, I really die. If I die this time, I really die. If I die this time, I really die.
They hummed the words like a song. It felt as if they were mocking me.
Cold sweat trickled down my temples.
I swallowed dryly as I watched the figures reaching out to me.
Run away!!!
A scream that felt like it would tear through my eardrums struck my ears.
For a moment, I heard a ringing in my ears, as though blood was flowing from them. I furrowed my brow and barely managed to hold on to my dizzying consciousness.
They grew closer, and once again, they collapsed on top of me like liquid, pouring down.
I didn’t run away.
I still held onto the holy water in my mouth.
The graffiti from the bathroom ghost story survivors remained etched on my arm, undisturbed.
I guessed that the medium for these evil spirits was this graffiti.
Now that I had found the medium, I just had to get rid of them and find the door.
I struggled through them and stood up, turning all the faucets in the bathroom sink. The water began to overflow and spill onto the floor.
As the water overflowed, the things that had been attacking me disappeared. But they didn’t vanish entirely.
When I looked back, I saw that all five bathroom doors were closed. The soles of shoes were visible beneath them.
Slowly, I took off the cross necklace hanging around my neck, gripped it in my hand, and opened the first bathroom door.
Inside, I sprayed the holy water in my mouth at the motionless female ghost and pressed the cross against her «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» forehead.
Sizz-
Kaaack!!!
The ghost began to burn and turn to ash from the spot where the cross was pressed to its forehead.
I continued, spraying holy water and pressing the cross against the foreheads of the next ghosts in each bathroom stall, eradicating them.
When I had finished dealing with the last one, I ran to the sink, knelt, and sat down.
The water continued to flow in torrents-
The bathroom floor had already turned into a sea of water.
As I tilted my head, I faintly saw my face reflected in the water.
As soon as I confirmed that the water had taken on the role of a mirror, I plunged my hand into it.
Splash.
I sank into the water for a long while.
I sank endlessly, endlessly into the black water.
I was running out of breath, and just as I felt like I was going to die, someone grabbed the back of my neck.
I was pulled up, and soon, I was out of the water.
Gasp!
Cough-
As I breathed in fresh air, I immediately spat out the water, and after regaining my senses, I lifted my head to see students staring at me in shock.
To be exact, it was Teacher Rachel and the student council members.
And the man holding the back of my neck was Noah.
I realized I was sitting by the sink and turned my head. Behind me was the bathroom mirror.
Apparently, the place I had emerged from was the bathroom mirror.
While I was staring at my own dazed face, Henry, who had regained his composure first, stammered and asked me.
"Y-You, you, you were definitely outside just now, weren't you?"
Then, with a look of disbelief, he turned to Noah.
"Hey, Noah. How did you know Hastings was in the mirror?"
This time, everyone turned to look at Noah.
He was suddenly under scrutiny, but he didn't panic. When would he ever panic?
He calmly rubbed the sleeve of my school uniform with the tips of his fingers.
"There's blood on it. Looks like you threw up blood again. The evil spirits seem to have been eliminated."
Only then did I look down at my sleeve. Just as he said, there was blood on it. I must have bled while dealing with the spirits. How could he tell so quickly?
"Why are you changing the subject?"
Henry asked again, his face filled with disbelief.
"I’m asking how you knew Hastings was in the mirror."
Noah let out a tired sigh.
"I have a different sense than others. Even if I can’t see it, I can sense a lot of things. Hastings is clearly visible to those things."
I had heard similar words from Noah before.
"I can't see things like evil spirits or spirits, like you can. But I can feel their energy more strongly than others."
Seeing the invisible and feeling things differently from others.
"What do you mean, I don’t get it."
Henry scratched the back of his head and muttered.
"Teacher, I have no idea what the students are talking about right now. What in the world is going on...? Is Hastings really okay? You're bleeding from your nose."
At that moment, Teacher Rachel came up to me with a worried look on her face.
It was only when she spoke that I realized I had been bleeding from my nose.
I looked down at my forearm. The cross marks were etched like a brand before fading away.
The spirits had been completely eliminated.
"My goodness, Melody!"
Erika rushed over, horrified.
But more than Erika, Raven was the one who made the loudest commotion.
"Are you okay? Melody!"
I covered my nose with the back of my hand as I was held in Raven’s arms.
Then Noah quietly pulled out a handkerchief and blocked my nose for me.
The whole process felt like it was happening in slow motion. My vision was dimming, and the voices calling me grew fainter.
‘I did it again.’
Feeling proud, my vision finally went dark.
