Surviving The Fourth Calamity-Chapter 335 - 134 Human and Wolf Alliance, a Glimpse of the Goddess of the Silvermoon’s Skirt
On the Silvermoon Altar, the cold moonlight was already shining.
This indicated that the deities worshiped by the wolf pack were watching this place at this moment.
Hill was somewhat distracted: Was it only the Wolf God they were watching? Was Silvermoon also looking?
He looked around the valley again, feeling that everything today was very strange.
Was this just a lavish play staged for others to watch by the Silvermoon and Time and Space Systems?
If the Main Gods, who possess great Divine Power, wanted to see this alliance ceremony, then the power of the Silvermoon Wolf God could not possibly conceal it.
Hill gently summoned a cloud ship, a small white cloud that hovered high above a kilometer away from the altar.
He sat on it, waiting for the curtain to rise.
Spencer, leading the Knight Corps, formed an offensive formation and moved forward with grandeur.
There, six huge demon wolves of different colors stood, their eyes cold and sinister.
Spencer, who was walking at the tip of the cone formation, held a document in his hand.
Among the six wolves, the leader was that black wolf.
He was also the largest in size, looking up at Spencer with ghostly green eyes, his gaze cruel yet sly.
He gently lifted a paw, and a beautiful stone platform rose from the ground.
Spencer, expressionless, opened the document in his hand and read aloud.
It was a very loose mutual defense alliance.
It only promised non-aggression. During the war between the elves and the dwarves, if needed, they would cooperate with each other and not stab each other in the back.
There wasn’t even a requirement for one to rescue the other if they were fought.
Actually, the main issue was probably the division of territory.
It seemed that the wolf pack was planning to fight independently; they requested that if they independently occupied a territory, humans should not interfere.
The humans’ requirement was first come, first served—whichever side conquered a territory first would own it.
Even if the wolf pack was interested in the areas humans were attacking, they could not drag their feet.
Of course, if the humans were defeated and withdrew, the wolf pack could continue to fight.
The wolf pack had no objections.
The few leading giant wolves stared at Spencer and his group for a long while, seemingly feeling that these humans did not threaten the survival of the wolf pack, so they were relatively amicable.
But Hill also felt that they were earnestly observing the human knight corps’ formation, perhaps wanting to learn from it.
The wolf pack still didn’t possess the ability to integrate their collective strength into a single entity for joint use. Their so-called collective cooperation was just the utilization of individual strengths.
If the wolf pack could learn the kind of cooperation found in knight formations, utilizing human bodies to form a formation and achieving a power nearly similar to a level-up, then they wouldn’t fear anyone in this world.
The wolf pack’s current upright attitude was still because the number of humans far surpassed them; the high-leveled humans exceeded the entire wolf tribe’s numbers.
That’s speaking of the Undead Tribe; as long as they were still there, the wolf pack would honestly keep developing on their own and wouldn’t dare extend their claws toward humans.
William’s attitude toward the wolf pack and even all magical beasts was cautious but fearless.
He believed that even if the Undead Tribe retreated, the strength of humans would still be formidable, unattainable by the wolf tribe, and these wolves would still behave themselves.
After Spencer read the document aloud, he placed it on the stone table in front of him.
A few giant wolves scrutinized the text on it once more, then took turns pressing their paws down.
The last wolf, the instant it pressed down, transformed the document into a silver glow.
Hill felt that, although both were silver lights, he could sense they were two different shades of silver.
Then, these two shades of silver split into two beams of light and flew into the sky.
Spencer looked up as the silver light from his side flew towards the River of Time and Space and nodded in satisfaction.
He didn’t care where the light on the opposite side flew, whether to the moon or the Silver Wolf constellation beside the moon.
After politely bidding farewell to the few wolf kings, Spencer led his people towards the entrance of the valley.
Hill didn’t intend to communicate with the wolf kings; he also flew away directly.
They didn’t need Hill to do anything; just by being there, Hill naturally became a witness to this alliance.
But the wolf pack indeed still held hostility toward the human race, so he wouldn’t take the initiative to reconcile with them.
No matter how much nature favored Hill, he firmly placed himself on the side of humans.
He wouldn’t utter naive statements like neither side was wrong, so he must stand in a neutral position.
If a battle broke out, Hill would only help the human race.
After Spencer and his group left the valley, they then boarded Hill’s large ship.
Hill didn’t feel any divine power, but they seemed oppressed.
That wolf was indeed no good creature.
Seeing Spencer and his group board the ship and then head straight into the room to wash up and change clothes, Hill helplessly maneuvered the ship to quickly leave the canyon.
Then he shot straight into the sky, heading directly for his own territory.
No wonder William didn’t pay much attention to this matter; the deities in the starry sky had already negotiated it, leaving only the contract between the followers.
And Hill heard the names signed at the end of that document.
The signatories were the King of Saral, King Noah, King of Deodysseus, Sorcerer Tower Master, President of the Mage Association, and that Noble Sacred Alliance.
The Church represents time and space, contracts, knowledge, and of course, the nobility. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Hill had not expected that the Noble Temple would send someone to sign this contract, while other countries had not.
Moreover, the Noble Sacred Alliance, having acquired all the countries’ resources, surprisingly skipped over those middle countries to sign the agreement.
Could it be that although the Noble Church was split in two, both halves actually still obeyed the will of the God of Nobility?
Were they, after all the conflicts, still one family?
Hill even wondered if the God of Nobility planned to split himself in two, learning from the God of Time and Space who had severed half of his divine soul.
The benevolent half went to the Holy Alliance, the darker half remained in the demonized Dionysio.
However, a malevolent deity had signed all the contracts making enemies of elves and dwarves.
Those so-called human nations, however, chose to remain neutral.
Hill wondered how William planned to deal with them.
As for Noah, ever since aligning closely with Saral, their king had essentially shed all shame.
Had it not been for William’s restraint, King Noah would have recognized him as his father.
Spencer came out quickly, shaking his head as he walked, and his damp hair was quickly dried by his own fire element powers.
He was a knight quite accustomed to using his powers in daily life.
Many knights possess this power but do not mind having damp hair and do not bother with it.
Hill could somewhat understand why William always got along well with him; he was a person with a zest for life, not rigid at all.
When he stepped onto the deck, he casually grabbed and nibbled the pastries Hill had left on the table.
He had no intention of maintaining any proud and proper noble image in front of Hill.
That’s why even arrogant mages like Adrian could get along well with Spencer.
Walking to the bow, Spencer, looking at the scenery, said to Hill, "Is there nothing else to see but the clouds?"
"There is, but I’m reluctant to use it. We’re almost there anyway," Hill replied with a laugh.
"So soon?" Spencer looked enviously at the ship. "When can I afford one like this?"
"Spencer Family, got any mages yet?" Hill laughed.
"A keen response. A nephew of mine has shown aptitude as a mage and has already entered the King’s Academy," Spencer tossed the fruit in his hand. "The family thinks it’s best if he learns alchemy and asked me to speak to Adrian upon my return to the Royal Capital."
The impenetrably dense clouds around the ship suddenly dispersed.
They had entered the domain of the God of Time and Space.
The power of the Wolf God was completely useless here.
Spencer suddenly laughed: "Saral’s scenery is still the best, isn’t it?"
Yet they were still over a thousand kilometers from the northern borders of Saral.
Though below the spaceship, they could already see cities of the Undead Tribe, far in the distance.
In Spencer’s eyes, the domain of the God of Time and Space belonged to Saral’s sphere of influence.
It’s just that, for now, there weren’t enough hands to occupy these places.
Hill remained silent, understanding that Saral’s future direction of development seemed set, and Spencer no longer cared how much desire for the northern territories he showed outwardly.
But then again, the other human nations could probably only thank William for his disdain for their lands; who else could compete with Saral?
"You planning to bring the Knight Corps back with you?" Hill asked Spencer.
"Don’t you have a teleportation array there?" Spencer laughed. "Our horses are magic beasts; they can travel by teleportation array too, and His Majesty the King won’t charge us. The business is completed, no need for secrecy, why not use it?"
So, the performance just now, the deities in the starry sky saw it all?
Hill felt a distinct Power of the Silvermoon at the altar; that extremity of purity could only belong to Silvermoon herself.
Anyone focusing on this alliance ceremony would surely feel it.
The deities are even more sensitive to distinctions in divine power.
So, the Goddess of the Silvermoon, was she using this alliance to straighten her skirt and wave to the whole world?
Hill’s town was now in sight; Spencer turned and went below deck to call his knights to get ready.
Seeing the excited Undead Tribe quickly gathering around the airship, Spencer couldn’t help asking, "Why are there so many of the Undead Tribe here?"
"I have an alchemy workshop here; they come to make things," Hill answered nonchalantly. "Others might be here to seek magic beast contracts."
"Got any herds here?" Spencer asked earnestly.
Hill then understood why he was asking knowingly.
"If large herds come by, I’ll have List ask around, but it’s highly unlikely," Hill responded. "High-level magical beasts, many tribes won’t be able to contract with the humans of this world in a short span."
Spencer knew this himself.
Their magic beast horses were raised from infancy, and those in the wild didn’t care about them either.
But he just wanted to ask; these were high-level magical beasts, after all, a complete bargain for the Undead Tribe.
When he saw a group of elephants in the capital, he was downright envious; Spencer felt if he had an armored elephant Knight Corps, he’d be overjoyed!
However, those of the Undead Tribe took even greater pride in having a rabbit!
A damn rabbit! What’s the use of that thing?
