Chapter 375: Chapter 174: Silvermoon and William’s Collaboration is Stunning

The God of Smithing actually knew that if he lost this struggle, to avoid losing the Divine Artifact, he would probably have to fly off with it to who knows where.

And there was a fifty percent chance that he wouldn’t be able to hold onto the Divine Artifact and then he’d completely lose the hammer he’d struggled with for hundreds of thousands of years.

So even though he was enduring torment, his Divine Power fluctuating, he still held on.

Seeing him look anxiously towards the direction of the Dwarf Kingdom several times, Hill suspected that the battle there hadn’t ended yet.

When the God of Smithing began his surprise attack, the fortress of the Undead Tribe had already started to fight.

If William stayed there, then the Noble Church would have to perform one less divine summoning ritual, as their resources were not so abundant; saving a bit was still something.

Hill had always felt that if the God of Nobility didn’t place so much importance on face, those Cardinals would definitely do something like auctioning off deity goods.

Losing the offerings from three countries was really hurtful to them.

In order to keep the faction of the Noble Temple from sliding further into evil, those actively participating Cardinals were said to have dug into their own pockets.

Having schemed and lived humbly for hundreds of years, they were reluctant to suddenly empty their coffers, which made many of them unable to resist the urge to cry and complain.

In just this period of time, Alice had already told him several jokes about this.

Looking at the God of Smithing who seemed to want to flee, Hill rubbed his hands together with ill-intent, thinking that if a tornado came by now, it could wrap him up with his hammer and whisk them away to the ends of the earth. Perhaps they would land on the very edge where the earth split open, falling straight into the chaos of elemental flows.

Just thinking about it was thrilling.

Then his gaze shifted to Spencer, who was nervously watching, and he let out a sigh of resignation.

This guy would look at the sky for a while then glance in Hill’s direction twice, probably worried about him acting impulsively.

Still, the task at hand was more important; it was just a shame that he couldn’t indulge his mischievous urges, leaving Hill a bit frustrated.

Feeling some activity from the Magic Tower nearby, Hill quickly took the sofa and flew to another window.

Alice cheerfully meowed a few times, "Hill, do you think a cat can grow wings?"

"A flying cat?" Hill recalled briefly, he only remembered flying pigs, but did those pigs have wings?

"You’re legendary now, you can fly! A cat with wings might not look good." Hill decided to crush the cat’s fantasy; after all, it was the Spirit of Nature. If it entertained the thought too much and truly became a cat with wings, he’d be the one with the headache.

Cats and birds are completely different creatures; this isn’t a fantasy world where biological structures have no limits.

Alice would definitely regret it.

If she grew wings and didn’t use them, wanting to return to her original form would be a hardship with Alice’s habits.

"Even if you had wings, you’d still have to fly with your own strength; wings don’t fly on their own," Merkel stated bluntly.

Alice meowed in resignation and lay down, giving up on the idea.

Hill couldn’t help but pat her little head, his thoughts unable to keep up with a cat.

Fortunately, Merkel understood Alice’s thoughts better than him and nipped them in the bud.

Otherwise, Hill’s kind of reasoning would hold no deterrence for a cat wanting to be lazy.

Suddenly, a burst of silver light emerged from Fran’s study.

It enveloped the entire land in an instant.

Holding Alice in his arms, Hill instructed Merkel, "Illusion Magic, just don’t react to anything you see."

"If I go mad, knock me out," Merkel suddenly blurted out.

"What’s wrong?" Hill didn’t understand why the usually stable Merkel thought he might lose control.

"The influence of my ancestors has weakened greatly, but they’ve always had a strong reaction to the Silver Wolf." Merkel’s tone was grim, "Although he doesn’t show me all the reasons, he was fooled by the Silver Wolf’s Illusion Magic many times. Eventually, the sight of silver light drove him mad, and he would attack anyone who approached. I’m worried I might not be able to suppress him."

"Then maybe you should take a nap first." Hill gestured for Windmill Jasmine to bring in a vine, "Smell it?"

"Alright," Merkel agreed immediately when he saw the silver light enveloping the whole camp, his nose almost buried in Jasmine’s petals.

Hill peered out, with Alice poking her head out too.

Neither of them was affected by the illusion at all, so they had no idea what was happening.

All they saw was the Dwarven God of Forging suddenly stopping amidst the silver glow; although he quickly recovered, he was still repelled by the force of the Array, and since he was not willing to let go of the hammer, he had to fly off with it.

And then he was caught in midair by someone.

The God of Smithing actually snapped out of the illusion very quickly, being a deity, and having any effect on him for a few seconds was already quite a feat for William. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

But those few seconds put him at a disadvantage.

Luckily, his Subordinate God had arrived at some point.

Although he had been hanging in the air and grabbed onto the God of Smithing for quite a long time, although the first reaction of this Subordinate God was to clutch the Divine Hammer, he did manage to catch it.

Hill sighed regretfully; his target was gone.

The God of Smithing had already woken up. He grabbed back his hammer and, along with his subordinates, walked away without looking back.

Only the Dwarven Shield Warrior was left, having been knocked far away and smashed to the ground, but he had been unconscious the whole time and likely didn’t feel a thing.

Hill could feel that his life force was very weak now; the Life Fire was about to go out.

If the Dwarves didn’t come out soon to save him, he would probably be completely done for in 3 or 2 days.

Spencer said goodbye to Hill neatly and jumped down.

It seemed he was completely unaffected by that Illusion Magic Array.

Hill looked down and saw that the Guardians were moving freely below, currently fishing people out from his Forest Array.

It seems that William wanted to test not only the Array but also a tool that could function within the Array without being affected by illusions.

But what kind of story was William weaving with his illusion?

Hill grew somewhat curious. For the first time, he felt that the feature that made illusion completely ineffective against him was a bit too comprehensive, leaving him no way out. He didn’t understand Illusion Magic and couldn’t see what exactly was inside.

He was really keen to know why those guys from the Mage Association had all rushed into his Forest Array.

Hill looked eagerly for a while before finally turning his head towards Fran’s study.

Spencer was entering the Magic Tower, probably to discuss the issue with the Illusory Realm.

Hill decided to wait until he left before asking Adrian, believing that with Adrian’s curiosity, he would definitely get a good feeling of the Illusory Realm.

"Master Fran, thank you for your hard work." Spencer bowed in greeting upon entering the study.

"There’s no need for such courtesy when I’m compensated for my services," Fran said indifferently. "The attack Array wasn’t even used."

"No matter, there will be opportunities to use it," Spencer said with a smile. "His Majesty the King isn’t too concerned about it; when he was still in Saral, the attack Array was only a secondary tool, hardly needed."

As for William’s ascension to the Divine Throne, Saral wouldn’t likely have a King who could afford an Array that required the deployment of six giant ships.

Of course, if someday a prodigal son emerged, it wouldn’t be William’s treasury getting burned, so he probably wouldn’t care.

"What’s the deal with the content of this Illusion Array? Isn’t it too evil?" Adrian asked, looking pale.

"Didn’t you wear the bracelet?" Spencer raised his own hand, revealing a Crushed Stone Chain set with a Moonstone, the silver light flashing on it confirming that it was Alchemy Jewelry.

"I wanted to see for myself the Illusory Realm created by His Majesty the King," Adrian said, a ferocious smile on his face.

"Not just His Majesty the King, but also the Goddess of the Silvermoon," Spencer immediately added. "They worked it out together. His Majesty the King only contributed some legends from his world. The content was perfected by the Goddess of the Silvermoon, and she really likes it."

"Are we going to see such undead resurrection in this world as well?" Adrian asked uneasily, thinking about his family’s vast cemetery.

"Her Highness the Goddess of the Silvermoon said that’s something that would emerge only when darkness develops to a certain extent. In this world, it won’t happen for hundreds of thousands of years, so you needn’t worry so much," Spencer chuckled. "Making you watch such a disgusting scene for no reason, just one glance at it made me want to vomit."

"Hundreds of thousands of years!" Adrian calmed down at once. "By then, even my bones will have turned to dust. When it’s time for me to die, I’ll ask Hill for a favor, to arrange a Purification Array for me, just to make sure I won’t suffer that fate."

Spencer couldn’t help but roll his eyes at him; except for him, no one would dare make such a request to a legendary warlock.

Fran cut off their pointless conversation.

"What’s the situation with those from the Mage Association?"

"His Majesty the King is right not to get too deeply entangled with them," Spencer said. "Some people there, in the pursuit to extend their lives, have become reckless, and many mages from the Mage Association are getting involved."

"The true higher-ups of the Mage Association won’t interfere," Fran said, stopping Spencer as he was about to speak. "In the world of mages, everything is a matter of personal choice. They don’t stop them because that’s the path to self-destruction.

Moreover, they only tempt others to participate; in the eyes of these Legendary Laws, those who are swayed don’t deserve the title of mage.

A mage is only responsible for oneself, not for others."

Spencer was silent for several minutes, then he asked, "What do you think about His Majesty the King’s suggestion, Master Fran?"

"I can’t completely detach myself from the Mage Association, but it’s fine not to participate in their activities," Fran replied.

Spencer smiled happily. This was the first time Fran had explicitly stated that he would no longer participate in the Mage Association’s activities. Previously, he had only expressed dissatisfaction and anger due to Hill’s matters, but had never been so resolute.

Watching the cheerful figure of Spencer departing, Adrian stood up and started tidying the desk: "It’s because I’m useless that Teacher has made this choice."

"It has to do with you, but it’s not that significant," Fran interrupted his self-reproach. "Becoming a legend is just a matter of time for you, and I’m not worried about that. But if you get too close to the people of the Mage Association, I’m worried about your students being drawn in. We’ve gone to great lengths to distance ourselves from various forces and remain independent, and I’m certainly not willing to get wrapped up in power struggles again."

"Does Teacher mean that there is going to be an internal conflict within the Mage Association?"

Fran showed a dismissive sneer: "Currently, it’s the Kind Alignment that has the upper hand, Adrian."
