System's POV-Chapter 871: I Was Born This Way
Finally, the time to go to the Cygni Continent had arrived.
Just as the Grand Marshal had ordered, the 60th and the 69th Battalions, respectively commanded by Aiden and Thirteen, were to escort the supply ships that would bring military supplies to the front lines.
As per their agreement, Aiden’s Destroyer and two Cruiser Ships would guard the front and side of the Supply Ships while Thirteen’s Cruiser Ship would guard the rear.
Unlike the 69th Battalion, which only had about four hundred members, the 60th Battalion had over a thousand.
Despite the difference in numbers, no one looked down on Thirteen’s troops. After all, the one leading them was the Supreme Commander of the Alliance.
The Green Lanterns, the moniker Thirteen gave his Soldiers, had become very popular in the Central Government.
They were even jokingly referred to as the Mascots of the Military because of the unique uniforms they wore in battle.
This was Sherry’s first time seeing the Green Lanterns. She couldn’t help but sigh in relief, feeling lucky that her uniform wasn’t yellow-green in color.
She wore a white uniform that made her stand out from the rest.
When Thirteen’s soldiers discovered her identity as the future wife of their commander, all of them treated her with respect.
Thirteen was currently seated at the command station of the Cruiser, doing some final checks with their own supplies for the journey.
After making sure that everything was in order, he contacted Aiden and told him they were ready to go anytime.
"Our final preparations are almost done as well," Aiden replied through the intercom. "We will be leaving in an hour."

"Understood." Thirteen nodded.
After that brief exchange, Thirteen browsed the news of the Cygni Continent using his smartphone.
Seeing that only Rank 1 up to Rank 5 Monsters had appeared, he believed the front lines should be mostly intact.
The teenage boy then secretly sent a message to Jubei using his Communicator and informed Cristopher’s High Orc Strategist to wait for them to stalk them in their travels.
Right now, Jubei was the Commander of Thirteen’s trump card, Nautilus.
Although the High Orc was only a Rank 3 monster, he was very competent in giving orders, so Thirteen had given him this important position in his army.
The Trolls and Ogres had also been sent to Nautilus to help perform the tasks needed to operate it.
The only ones left inside Rocky’s Mobile Fortress, who would be accompanying Zion, were Giga, Blacky, Hercules, Drazzat (Lizardkin Commander), and Stacy.
All of them were now Rank 6 Sovereigns and could easily obliterate anyone of the same Rank and below.
Rocky was now a Rank 8 Hellfire Bal-Boa, which was also a Sovereign.
With the lineup under his command, Zion could move unhindered in the Cygni Continent, unless several Rank 8 Sovereigns or Rank 9 Jinns appeared.
After Jubei gave Thirteen his reply, the teenage boy then sent a message to Clark, Vincent, Joshua, and Char, who had arrived at the front lines a few days ago.
He asked them for any relevant news and information about the latest monster stampedes, as well as the overall atmosphere within the military camp.
"So far, everyone’s morale is still high," Clark replied. "In the city I am currently in, Roland makes an appearance every day. His presence helped the soldiers feel less anxious and more motivated to fight.
"There had been no casualties as of late. The monsters were killed before they created massive damages in the city."
"I’m also doing my best to care for the ladies and make sure that they are in the right state of mind to perform their duties," Vincent replied.
"Yesterday, I slept in Piper’s room and made sure she would be able to sleep comfortably. But for some reason, I keep getting glares from the other soldiers after I left her room this morning. I mean… I know I am handsome. But what can I do? I was born this way."
The corner of Thirteen’s lips twitched after seeing Vincent’s reply. He was starting to wonder if he made the right decision of enlisting his former best friend as one of the soldiers of the 69th Battalion.
Piper was one of Thirteen’s Squad Captains, and was in command of fifty people.
The guys whom Vincent might be talking about were her direct subordinates, who probably wished they could cut the handsome young man into countless pieces to feed to the fishes right now.
’I wonder what will happen if Vincent and Penny Tration meet each other,’ Thirteen mused. ’Will they become good friends or treat each other as competition?’
Thirteen shook his head helplessly, wondering how his Battalion accumulated several troublemakers in its rank.
Fortunately, Cristopher and Colbert were competent enough to make everyone obey their orders.
They made sure that disagreements and tension within the Green Lanterns wouldn’t escalate, nipping any problems in the bud.
"Hugo, do you have any experience fighting against a monster stampede?" Thirteen asked the tall young man, who was standing on his left side.
He had drafted Hugo as his personal bodyguard, and true to his duties, the latter remained at Zion’s side unless ordered otherwise.
"No, Sir," Hugo replied. "At most, I only fought a group of Wolves in Solterra, but there were only seven of them. I never participated in the defense against monster stampedes."
Thirteen nodded. "If there is an opportunity, I will let you experience a few of them. During that time, you will obey the Squad Captain’s orders.
"Yes, Sir," Hugo answered.
"Sherry, when Hugo is away, you will serve as my bodyguard," Thirteen ordered.
"Yes, Sir," Sherry replied.
Although she was engaged to the commander of the 69th Battalion, she understood that she should keep her public and private matters separate.
That said, she treated Zion as her superior officer and acted as a model for everyone in their camp.
This also gained the approval of Zion’s subordinates, making them look at her favorably.
Suddenly, a loud honking sound spread in the surroundings.
The Supply Ships were now starting to leave the port, a sign that their escort duty was about to begin.
"Men at your stations," Thirteen ordered. "You have ten minutes to do that. Anyone who’s not in their respective places would be punished by cleaning the deck later!"
His command spread into the entirety of the ship through the loud speakers, making the soldiers lazing around on the deck scramble and run to their designated places.
Ten minutes later, the 69th Battalion’s Battle Cruiser also left the port to follow behind the Supply Ships that were headed to the Cygni Continent.
