The Alpha King's Nemesis-Chapter 174: Where Is She ()

Queen Sancia stared after Lucas for a moment, her mind still reeling from the words he had just said but she was quick to snap out of it.

Hurrying down the hall, Queen Sancia made her way to Askel’s quarters, knowing exactly where he would be at this time.

Queen Sancia’s composure was completely forgotten and she ignored every greeting she received on the way till she arrived at the doors to Askel’s quarters just as Dechlan stepped out.

"Askel..." Queen Sancia began to say.

Dechlan lowered his head in greeting, moving aside to let Queen Sancia through.

Queen Sancia stepped in and Dechlan followed in after her, shutting the door behind him.

"After Alpha Zariah ran off, the beast stirred and Askel sensed he could not contain it this time, he hurried to the basement and ordered us to chain him down." Dechlan revealed.

As Dechlan spoke, he walked over to a part of Askel’s quarters and pulled a hidden lever that revealed the secret underground basement by opening a trap door in the wall.

"Fortunately, he provided a timely forewarning and we were able to restrain him just before it made itself known." Dechlan finished

The moment the door was opened, loud, guttural growls echoed from the depths of the basement up to Askel’s room.

Queen Sancia quickly made her way through the entrance and ran down the stairwell leading to the hidden basement.

Arriving in the basement that was more like a dungeon, Queen Sancia gasped in horror, her hands shooting up to her mouth as she laid eyes on her son.

Askel was hung up by two thick silver chains that were melded to an iron bar and his feet were also chained to the ground so he was forced on his knees.

The silver chains were very thick and strong and the smell of burning flesh filled the basement as the silver constantly burned into Askel’s skin.

There was also a silver cuff placed around his neck, keeping him from moving his head too far to either sides.

Askel only had a pair of leather breeches on, his upper body was completely bare and the black markings that swirled over his skin were fully prominent, testifying to the presence of the beast on the surface.

Askel snarled fiercely at Queen Sancia and Dechlan, struggling against his bonds to lunge at them but the bonds were firm and secure, forged especially for him and so all his attempts to escape proved futile.

That did not deter Askel at all, like a complete savage, he snarled and tugged at the chains, dealing even greater harm to himself as the silver burned in deeper.

Tears dripped out of Queen Sancia’s eyes at the sight and she reached for Askel but was held back by Dechlan.

"You must keep a safe distance, Your highness. He can barely recognize any of us in this state... the last thing Askel would want is to end up harming you." Dechlan warned in a serious tone.

Queen Sancia’s eyes went closed and she crumbled to the ground, sobbing quietly.

Another hour went by before Queen Sancia stepped out from Askel’s quarters and when she did, the expression on her face was one of malice.

"And where could the Alpha Zariah be in all of this? After putting my son in such a state, where did she disappear to all on her own?!" Queen Sancia demanded from Dechlan.

"She is not within castle grounds and she is unaware of His Grace’s condition." Dechlan replied.

"That is no excuse! This is all her fault! If she is unaware, then make her aware! She is his mate, is she not?! The woman he is willing to split open the earth for and even disregard his mother for, so where exactly is she when he actually needs her?!" Queen Sancia snarled.

"Your Highness, Alpha Zariah is unaware of His Grace’s condition because His Grace ordered for it to be so. As His Grace’s subordinate, my sole purpose is to execute his orders as they were given and nothing more."

"Forgive me, but I cannot mention a word of this to Alpha Zariah untill His Grace deems it appropriate to let her know of his condition and I would advice you also abide by his wishes." Dechlan relayed to Queen Sancia.

"Do not do this... do not do that! I am his mother yet I am not allowed to do anything!" Queen Sancia hissed and stormed off in a flurry of rage.

Queen Sancia headed back to her quarters, still fuming as she shoved open the doors and stormed in.

In her rage, Queen Sancia had failed to notice the presence of another female in her quarters until a glass of cold water was offered to her.

Queen Sancia’s eyes lit up as she took notice of the young woman who had a bright smile on her lips.

"Your Highness, I have come to bid my greetings." The young woman said with a smile.

"Vivienne!" Queen Sancia exclaimed in delight.

Queen Sancia quickly took the cup of water and placed it aside, pulling Vivienne into a fond hug.

"You silly child. How much longer would it take you to come see your aunt? If you have gone through such an injustice, do you not know your aunt would definitely seek justice for you? You need only say the word." Queen Sancia chided as she rubbed Vivienne’s back comfortingly.

"I do know... I know how treasured I am back home, that is why I have returned after severing all ties with the White Wood pack." Vivienne replied as both women pulled away from each other.

"The White Wood pack is hardly significant enough for aunt to trouble yourself over... and Kevin is not deserving of your attention. Truth be told...he did me a favor, with his infidelity, I could finally break free of the shackles of that dreadful mate bond." Vivienne replied with a casual shrug.

"You are a child raised with so much care and attention in our Royal Lycan pack, how could a beta of an insignificant branch pack be deserving of you?" Queen Sancia agreed, nodding in approval.
