The Alpha's Blind Fate-Chapter 445: To OutLove Him
ZINA
"Having a daughter that looks just like you won’t be too bad." Daemon suddenly said, breaking the comfortable silence that stayed between the both of them.
It was the next day after their wedding. And the night before had breezed by in a blur of nothingness where the world around her dissolved only into the singular image of Daemon and pleasures he was capable of bringing her that catapulted her so high she was so scared of her eventual fall.
She thought he had been joking. That surely, no matter how much stamina he boasted, he would eventually be worn down.
But when night came, together with her yearN, it was as though he was recharged and all ready for her all over again.
So he kept his promise. He made sure that she felt the weight of his yearning that had been bottled up for a long time.
And now, she was cuddled against him, listening to the steady sound of his heartbeat that was now music to her soul.
She chuckled. "A daughter that looks like me? Is that a good thing to wish for?" She teased.
He gazed down at her, kissing her forehead. "Of course it is. Although on a second note, that would mean I will now have to deal with quite a number of shenanigans when she will come of age. Now that would be quite messy."
She laughed, unable to control herself. Her body vibrated against his, and the gesture seemed to amuse him.
"That wicked glint in your eyes tells me you are not thinking anything good." He growled playfully in her ear, his arms wrapped against her naked waist.
"You will be an old man at that time. Surely you do not think you will possess the same stamina you do now."
He chuckled. "Underestimating my stamina again? I see."
She patted him on the chest. "Fine. I admit it then that in the next twenty years when we will be in our forties, you will be a sexy older man with enough stamina to handle me. And our children."
He smirked down at her, then kissed her again on the forehead. "Our children?" He repeated, a smile glinting in his eyes.
She swallowed. "Our children." She said more confidently, smiling up at him.
She was no longer afraid. Whatever the future may hold, she was determined to chase after the things she wanted with grit and confidence. And that includes having a child.
He hugged her. "That means you’re binding yourself to me forever. Do you understand that?"
She hugged him back, her breasts pressing against his chest. "I want to bind myself to you forever, Daemon. I won’t look back again. I won’t falter. I will stand by your side, forever. I swear it."
She felt him smile against her. "Zina NorthSteed, I love you. So much it scares me as much as it heals me. So much I know I will do awful things just for you."
She sniffled, snuggling deeper into his embrace. "I know. Because I love you that much as well. Times two."
He chuckled. "Trying to outlove me will be tough competition."
She smiled. "Then let it be a competition that I am willing to risk my all for."
"This Zina seems far clingier than the Zina before you were kidnapped."
"Do you like this Zina?"
"Very much."
"How much?"
"Shall I have to show it?"
"Mmm... you should." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"This Zina is even more daring. Dare I say our days going forward will be far more interesting."
"Don’t be such a tease."
He nibbles her ears abruptly, breathing so intimately against her. "Is this proof enough?"
"Umm...no." She muttered while trying to hold back the laughter bubbling within her.
His lips trail down to her cheeks, nibbling her right there. "What about now?"
She swallows. "Umm... no?"
He goes further down, stopping at her neck. Just where her mating mark nestled at. "What about now? Is this proof enough?" He growled against her neck, his teeth grazing the flesh.
She arches into him, a moan escaping her throat before she can make actual sense of the sound. "Da...Daemon I am sore. Surely you must be tired as well."
"Not even close."
She tugs away from him with great effort. Now that sanity was coming back to her slowly, she was realizing that Daemon didn’t attend the council meeting yesterday, same with that morning.
Should rumours of her being a wanton wife who could only lock up her husband in the room go out, she wouldn’t be able to live down the image for a very long time.
Not when the whole world saw her as the Luna Queen of the North. A woman who should be the very image of regality and possessing the aura of the Great Seer.
"You’ve a council meeting. It is morning."
His eyes flicker between charcoal black and smothering gold. "How great is your timing." He smirks, stroking her cheeks. "And I would rather stay here with you all day. The council will survive one more day without me, no?"
That was untrue. The council wouldn’t survive one more day without him. Not when Daemon was destroying and building a lot of long-standing traditions that have long existed in the Arctic North.
Despite the bubble of pleasure that they basked in, the outside world was still chaotic. And Zina wasn’t blind to it. Daemon had just enforced a controversial reform law that has been collecting a lot of heat. The Reform Law intended to rebuild a lot of things—from renaming the Arctic North, to rebuilding the palace of ice for a structure that will accommodate a higher form of centralised rule.
The future will see one family, one pack, ruling over the whole North. And that family and pack will be the NorthSteeds.
That is if everything went well.
So she caressed his cheeks tenderly, gazing into his eyes. "I will help you bring forth this new North you envision. As we have always done it, herald the head. I shall protect the rear for you."
He gazed at her for the longest time. Then his lips descended for hers in a nail biting kiss that had her toes curling. Because their future wasn’t just their love story. It was a fulfilment of the very prophecy that brought them together.
Daemon will unite the North. And she will be the lamp, lighting his way.
That had always been the tale of the Great Beast Wolf, and the Moon Goddess he loved.
