The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 53: Have feelings for her
Once Leon left, Radulf brought Zenna to the chamber. The servants were dismissed as he desired to speak in private with her.
Zenna rested on the chaise. "Don’t act brazenly from the next time. Father is hellbent to destroy you. And don’t mind Prince Leon’s words. He wanted to provoke you so that you could tell the truth," she stated.
When Radulf didn’t respond, Zenna lifted her head and found him lost, his gaze was fixed on her.
"Say something," Zenna said.
"Don’t protect me like that," Radulf replied and sat on the same chaise.
"Why? Prince Leon could have dragged you to the palace for further investigation. Don’t you think you need to do something about it? Father is a dangerous man," she muttered, feeling worried suddenly.
Radulf wryly laughed, confusing her. He tilted his head. "And I am more dangerous than your father," he stated. "What he did to my family, won’t happen to me."
"I sometimes wonder from where does that confidence come," Zenna asserted. "Aren’t you scared?" she inquired.
Radulf just stared into her eyes. "Did you have breakfast?" he asked.
"Yes, I already did it. Why didn’t you join?" Zenna questioned when she got wine’s smell from him. "Did you drink in the morning?" she frowned.
"What if I did?" Radulf asked.
"Nothing. Drink as much as you want," Zenna said and stood up to leave when Radulf held her hand. She tilted her head, startled when he suddenly pulled her down, right on his lap.
"I drank because of you. Your pheromones are strong," Radulf said. "And I don’t want to make the mistake which I made on the night of my rut," he asserted.
"Are my pheromones these strong?" Zenna asked.
"Hmm. I can’t help but..." He paused, realizing how once again he was losing himself. His wolf was taking over, which he didn’t like.
"You can’t help but?" Zenna asked, wanting him to complete that sentence. She waited for him to respond but he didn’t. She found his arm loosening from her back and she stood up. "I will keep my distance from you then."
"Where are you going?" Radulf asked. "You should stay in the chamber," he opined.
"I am bored. I will take a stroll in the garden. You should do your work," Zenna said and strode out.
’Should I follow her?’ Radulf thought to himself. ’No, there’s no need. I can’t stay distracted for long because of her.’

While strolling in the large garden of the estate, Zenna saw the raspberries bushes and started picking them up. Since she was alone, she couldn’t ask anyone to bring the basket for her. So, she collected them in her gown while holding it up.
"Zenna," Gregor called her out and she turned around, her long hair danced in the air as a bright smile formed on her lips.
"You look better now. I’m sorry for not being there when you needed me the most," Gregor apologized. A part of his heart was happy seeing Zenna in a good state.
"It’s fine. You can’t follow me around all the time, Gregor," Zenna said. "Here, taste this." She forwarded a raspberry to his mouth. He took it in his mouth and chewed it.
"Umm... It’s sweet. You should eat too," Gregor said, pushing one between her lips.
"Yes, it is." Zenna collected many from the bush and decided to give them to Radulf later. However, what she didn’t know his mood had already turned sour.
From the window of his office, he ended up watching Zenna and Gregor, laughing and talking with each other. The two pack elders, who were speaking in the background, their words didn’t reach his ears as his entire focus was on his wife.
’Why she smiles and laughs so radiantly with him? She never does it before me. Am I scary?’ Radulf thought.
"So, Alpha, what do you think about our suggestion?" asked Walter, the first elder of the Shadow Hunter Pack. "Don’t you think we should organize a grand party on your success? It can bring many packs together, even those with whom we are not allies yet," he stated.
"You two should leave," Radulf said.
Elder Walter and Elder Niles were shocked to hear the sudden command from the Alpha.
"I will think about that before giving my decision. I still have many official work to finish. Parties can only be distraction to me at this time," Radulf stated with a stern tone.
"We understand, Alpha." Both the elders stood up from their chairs.
’She refuses to eat when I feed her,’ Radulf thought, looking how Gregor was feeding Zenna. ’And why he has not found his fated mate yet?’ he frowned.
"Alpha Radulf, may I speak my heart out?" Niles deep voice interrupted his thoughts, but he didn’t turn away from the window.
"What do you want to say?" Radulf asked.
"You should consider a stronger luna for this pack’s future growth and safety," Niles advised him.
Radulf’s brows scrunched and he turned on his heels. "Niles, I hope you are aware what you are saying," he said, clearly displeased. "Behind my back, didn’t Zenna build this pack from the scratch? I’ve been reported by my trusted confidants how much efforts she has put for this pack."
"I understand that, Alpha. However, Luna Zenna has the blood of the King. Even if the others don’t wish to help you or anyone in the pack, they willingly did it because of her family. Forgive me if you feel offended by my advice. However, for the growth of this pack you need someone more capable. The pack was happy seeing Miss Nina and even considered her for this position," Niles stated.
"You are forgetting that I married Zenna to keep this pack safe. Have you forgotten the three conditions I needed to fulfill to keep all of you alive?" Radulf growled, his eyes turning into a deeper shade of green.
"I haven’t. But I think you can now hold the enough power to make your own decision. Everyone knows in the pack that you and your wife don’t have any feelings for each other. Zenna is wolf-less and she may not produce the offspring that can benefit you, Alpha Radulf," Walter explained to him this time.
"Why are you interested in my offspring more than your own? And who said I don’t have feelings for Zenna? You two were elders for my father, not me. So, keep your mouths shut before me if you want to spew such nonsense ever again," Radulf warned them, causing the two elders to tremble in fear. The two of them apologized to Radulf and left the office.
He ran his fingers through his hair and turned to check on Zenna. She wasn’t in the garden anymore. Sitting on the chair, he read the document he had left in the middle.
"How can Zenna be wolf-less? She is Phillipe’s daughter. The entire royal family is born Alpha. Then, why not Zenna?" Radulf murmured. "Loretta doesn’t like Zenna. What if she has done something to Zenna when she was young?" he made an assumption and decided to look into Zenna’s past.
’Maybe her wolf is suppressed because she has never been loved. Why don’t you snuggle her to sleep daily and spend more time with her?’ Black suggested him.
