Buji’s message phone alert sound ringed two beeps and he turned his head to the direction of where he had dropped his phone on the stool beside his bed. It was at the wrong moment, the beep had distracted him but he needed to give in to it.

He saw the highlight.

’From a Friend?’

"Possibly, who else if not Kira... But she’s there at the..." Buji tried to reside with a conclusion as he picked up his phone from where he kept it by his bed side.

The message came from an unknown number, so, he couldn’t dictate at the moment who it was. He felt the urge to click it open immediately, and, he did just that.

He clicked the message open and it read:

Hey,

I wondered why you decided to count yourself off from the team as we were going for the health check up. I mean, everyone of us must have sustained a lot of injuries from that raid. That alone is enough reason.

It didn’t shock me though when Instructor Jean narrated your performance after we’ve left. What he said wasn’t a surprise to all of us there in the lorry ’cause we also witnessed it as well, but what was our question, "since when?"

Something’s crooky isn’t it?

Instructor Gib during the discussion told us that they were those who were called Fake Hunters. According to her, they possessed the power to manipulate Kyrexis. I’m not sure your are able though, like, I lived with you barely your whole life so I could tell what you did and what you didn’t.

As a token of my gratitude anyway for your help in there, even the Instructors testified that you were the utmost saviour in there, I will just be rather straightforward. "JUST BE VERY CAREFUL, BUJI!"

"Emra?!" Buji exclaimed before realizing he could be disturbing other students were already sleeping. "Is he for real?"

But then, was she even making any sense to him? Maybe.

The last statements were what he picked up from the text message. For some reasons, he didn’t care what people might think or will think about somethings he does.

He just needs to be very careful.

All these Fake Hunters concepts, the fact that he had been their saviour in there, and it’s subordinates were his less concerns. The second thought amused him the most. He wondered what it was and how it was that his performance had outwitted that of the Instructors and even Lobby or Emra.

"If only they knew me," Buji paused. "They will be aware I dream of being like them or better than them one day."

"What a world..." Buji muttered, staring at the ceiling above him.

He dropped his phone back on the stool by his bed side and summoned the system.

The screen appeared in front of him, so he navigated to the Acquisition Tab and clicked on it. Afterward, amongst his acquisitions, he selected the Level Up Hunter book.

He set up how he wanted to receive the information from the book. Like he had done previously, he selected the audio button and up on the right side corner, he searched for ’how to level up,’ and the system began echoing in his mind.

’But are there even other protocols to consider for leveling up?’ Buji asked.

[The Player should note that Leveling up is dependent upon the class the player has attained. A Class 2 Player will surely have a few features added to the level up requirements to assist in both strengthening and otherwise. This is due to the fact that as the Player advances in class, he gets to more difficulty and requires enough ability and high level ability to deal with equivalent situations.]

Buji interrupted the system immediately. He didn’t allow allow it to finish.

The system seemed to want to prevent any occurrence that will trigger it’s anger. So, it flickered and went off.

’But I’m not done reading...’ It was late already. The system wouldn’t be coming back at the moment.

However, Buji sat meditating on what had happened. He didn’t know how he had behaved towards the system, but he was not over himself then. The system’s last word rang in his ears.

The system was obviously the feeder in this aspect and he had just fucked up.

’It’s just the work of the devil 👿’ Buji muttered.

That’s the usual excuse whenever one does something that is irreparable or not actually good. It’s assumed the devil is always bad and all blames should be on it. Humans!

Buji brought up his phone to check what the time was.

’11:57 PM.’

That was the time and yet, Buji didn’t feel any atom of sleep in his eyes. Maybe Morpheus had gone on vacation.

He thought of what to do and nothing came to his mind. His mind dropped on his phone again and he decided. He decided to check up on Kira.

After sending her a text message, he dropped his phone back on the stool and his head on the pillow. He wanted to have some rest but his phone beeped.

It was 12:00 AM already.

As if sensing what would happen next, Buji sat up immediately to see the screen appearing once again.

’Thank God you hadn’t totally gone.’
