The Best Actor Insists On Living With Me!-Chapter 1666 - 1656: Constellations (Part 1)
After finishing dinner and tidying up the pots and pans, the desert night finally arrived slowly.
Bo Yan’s campfire wasn’t extinguished, serving both as a light source and warmth. Despite the night falling, the sky was filled with twinkling stars, a clear night sky that would never be seen in a big city, making it a perfect and breathtaking canvas.
Having just eaten, no one felt like going back to the tent to lie down—and there was nothing much to do. They couldn’t just scroll on their phones all night until sunrise, could they?
Han Yifan and Shang Feifei went out for a walk. Xia Siyu, who couldn’t sit still at all, had to go out for a stroll as well. But Bo Yan called out to her, "Wait. I’m going to find something."
"Is it a military coat? It’s not that cold yet, just find me a jacket. Also, I’m a mosquito magnet, bring some insect repellent."
Though the temperature in the desert varies greatly, the sun had just set, and it was still warm, not yet time for a military coat. Bo Yan nodded and returned to the tent, coming out with a backpack, "Let’s go."
The two of them wandered slowly in the desert.
But some young couples liked going out for a stroll, while others preferred to go back and lie down. The senior couple was like that; after eating and drinking their fill, they leisurely headed back. Upon seeing Zhou Weiwei’s tent, they remembered they seemed to have missed something:
They’d forgotten this group.
The woman called from outside, "Weiwei, Wenyi, are you there?"
"Yes... cough cough, we’re here." Zhou Weiwei replied first, but it was clear she had something in her mouth, making her speech a bit unclear.
"Hey, what are you eating?" The woman lifted the flap and came in, only to see the two sitting on the ground, holding a piece of bread and a bottle of water.
"Why didn’t you join us for dinner earlier?" The woman was about to say, aren’t you and Xia Siyu quite close? But then she remembered the recent trending topic, hinting at Xia Siyu’s group edits, which included a main fan of Zhou Weiwei.
The entertainment industry is full of best friends and brothers turning against each other. When benefits are involved, even blood brothers find it hard not to bear grudges. Many can support each other during tough times but start quarreling once they become successful.
The woman didn’t want to say much more, so Zhou Weiwei had to explain, "I’m afraid of gaining weight. I have a role coming up, and I need to lose weight. My manager’s been keeping an eye on me. Besides, I ate a bit too much at lunch."
Zhang Wenyi added, "Me too, I have an upcoming period drama, and the director wants me to lose another forty pounds."
As if to prove she had eaten a lot at lunch, Zhou Weiwei burped.
Burping isn’t embarrassing, but facing the camera and two seniors, it felt a bit awkward. Zhou Weiwei quickly bowed her head, and Zhang Wenyi patted her back. But hiccups aren’t something you can control, each one louder than the last.
The female senior quickly stepped back, "Get some rest. It’s been a long day."
Zhou Weiwei nodded, "Okay... hic."
...
Meanwhile, Xia Siyu and Bo Yan were strolling.
The last time she came to the desert, she only took a cursory glance from the outside and had never ventured deeply into it.
Now it was night. Although there weren’t any streetlights making visibility low, the sky was crystal clear today, with a large full moon and glittering stars. The weather hadn’t cooled yet, and the Milky Way was particularly radiant. In the desert, if one ignored the camera crew following them, it felt like the whole world was illuminated. Standing on the dunes, it seemed they could shout to the world, "This is the land I’ve conquered for you."
This was the Ancient Silk Road. Along the way, besides the endless sand and wind-eroded mushroom-like formations, there were also some ancient ruins, all very majestic.
Xia Siyu stretched lazily; the desert was unbearably hot during the day and had just started cooling, the temperature now just right. She turned to look at Bo Yan, noticing how large his backpack was, "What did you bring? Why’s your backpack so big?"
Bo Yan laughed and took off the backpack, "I’ll show you something good."
Xia Siyu watched as he took out a metal frame from the backpack and assembled it into a tripod. Xia Siyu looked excited, "Are you going to take pictures of me?"
She glanced at the nearby mushroom-like formations and ancient ruins, "Could we capture them? The lighting isn’t great right now."
Because of filming "Sunrise," she had been reading books, starting from ancient times and moving to the Republic of China period. She’d read "Love of the Fallen City," and seeing some relics of the Ancient Silk Road and the formations reminded her of Fan Liuyuan’s words to Bai Liusu: "This wall, for some reason, reminds me of phrases about the permanence of earth and sky... One day, if our civilization collapsed entirely, with everything burnt, bombed, and collapsed, maybe this wall would remain. Liusu, if we met at the foot of this wall then... Liusu, maybe you would have some genuine feeling for me, and maybe I would for you too."
Of course, Bo Yan’s true feelings for her didn’t need any proof, nor did hers for him.
But here, in the desert, in front of these ruins, with him, one’s thoughts naturally wandered far.
Bo Yan finally took out something from his bag that looked like a DSLR lens, quite large. Xia Siyu asked, "What’s brand is this camera? Does it take good pictures? If not, don’t post it on Weibo, edit it for me first."
It’s normal for celebrities to have their pictures airbrushed. But directly asking for photo edits left the camera crew speechless.
However, when Bo Yan set the "DSLR" on the tripod, Xia Siyu finally felt something was a bit off, "Why is this pointed upward? This angle will make my face look big and won’t capture my beauty."
Bo Yan finished setting it up and then smiled, "Silly, this is a telescope." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Not taking pictures of me? Xia Siyu was a bit disappointed, but when Bo Yan adjusted it and invited her over, "Come, come, look at the moon."
Xia Siyu scoffed, "What’s so special about the moon? I can see it just by looking up."
Yet her actions were more honest than her words as she quickly ran over, "Wow! Why does the moon look like a moldy mooncake, all bumpy?"
Bo Yan explained beside her, "This is for convenient outdoor use, so it’s not too refined. But through this, you can see Jupiter’s nebula. It’s a pity there aren’t any meteor showers or other celestial phenomena recently. But viewing this from the desert is the best."
Xia Siyu beamed with joy, "Can we see the Leo constellation?" At the end of July, she’s a Leo.
