Chapter 80: Ch 80: We found Miss Iris- part 2

Damian’s POV

"Boss, we managed to track down Miss Iris’s whereabouts. She is currently in the XX-Hotel. Would you like for us to track her down and get her for you?"

I looked at Jason, who reported this to me. He stood straight, but the dark circles under his eyes told me how exhausted he was.

//He looked like someone who had not slept properly in days.//

But it was not because of my orders. Jason was likely exhausted because of the internal struggle on the mafia side.

It was because of his sister, Lisa, who was causing trouble for him in an attempt to drag him back and make him meet Jennifer and rekindle things with her. But Damian never had anything with Jennifer to begin with.

That name alone irritated me.

Not to mention, he had Jenna and had no intention of leaving her for someone else.

"Boss, do you want me to-"

Jason asked, but I immediately shook my head.

"No, it’s fine. I will take care of her situation myself. You just focus on the family side and make sure to keep Lisa as far away from Jenna as possible."

Jason suddenly looked like he had aged a few years after that order. A bitter smile took over his face as he turned to look at me with a begging expression.

He knew exactly what that meant.

"Boss, is there nothing else... I get it. I will take care of distracting Miss Lisa for you."

He suddenly changed his tone when I started to get annoyed with him. That was for the better, and I decided to make a call to Jenna to tell her what my next plan was.

I was not going to leave her out of the information loop since that was what I promised, but I also did not want to risk her life.

Unfortunately, she decided to invite herself anyway, and I felt like I had no choice but to take her along. Letting her come after me alone was not a choice in this matter.

’Besides, she will be safe by my side, and I will also be able to send a message to the other families to keep away from her.’

Was this the best way to go about things? Of course not. But I would make it work... somehow.

And if not, then I had no problem taking out anyone who could become a danger to me and Jenna.

"Boss, should I call the driver to take you home?"

Jason asked from the sidelines. He had heard everything and was waiting for me to give him orders.

I gave him a nod, and within five minutes, I was ready to head back home. Once there, I just needed to wait for Jenna, and we could discuss what we needed to do once we were in the XX-Hotel.

A small part of me felt irritated at the fact that anyone and everyone would be able to see Jenna in the hotel. I wanted to be the only one who could see her. I wanted to never let anyone else lay their eyes on her body as she breathed...

’I am getting sidetracked now. I should focus on my work more.’

Jenna’s POV

’Ah, now I recall what I was forgetting. How could I bring Nicole’s ID with me? I will need to return it tomorrow.’

The thought nagged at me.

I wanted to turn back and give it back to her right now. But I also needed to head back and head out with Damian. I had a feeling that if I was late, then Damian would take it as an excuse to exclude me.

And that fear sat uncomfortably in my chest.

And that was not something I wanted to see happen.

So I quickly headed back and decided to take care of the ID issue later.

Damian was already home and waiting for me when I reached back, and he did not say much as he watched me head inside.

His presence alone filled the room.

"Is there any dress code that I should follow?"

I asked him, and I noticed that his eyes were looking up and down, almost as if he wanted to eat me alive. It made something in my stomach tingle as well, and I shivered at the attention.

My reaction made Damian’s eyes shine even more, and he licked his lips, causing me to look away from him.

My heart beat a little faster.

"Dress code? Go for something black tonight. Most people prefer that color, and you won’t stand out much."

Damian’s words felt logical. Boldness won’t help me tonight when I need to blend in.

"Alright, got it. I will change and meet you in an hour."

I told him before I went to my room to look for a dress I could wear tonight. I had a few dresses that matched the vibe, but in the end, I went for the most moderate one, which clung to my body, and topped it off with a body-covering fur coat that hid my figure.

I needed protection more than attention tonight.

I also put my essentials in my purse and Iris’s ID as well. I did not want to lose it or forget about it, so I decided to keep it on me at all times.

Once I was ready, I headed down and noticed how Damian was checking me out once more.

"You look nice."

He told me as he extended his hand toward me. I put my hand in his before he pulled me out.

"I will tell you more about the club and what to expect from it once we are on our way. We are heading to a... special club tonight. If you feel like you do not want to come with me after hearing about the club, you must tell me. I will tell the driver to take you back."

Damian warned me, but I doubted he could tell me anything that would put me off...

That was what I thought before I actually heard what he had to tell me about the club. My ears were redder than any other time, and my mouth struggled to give him an answer.

...just what was I getting myself into here?
