Chapter 769: Chapter 810: The New Team Wants to Challenge Adrian Desmond

Himakati, the helicopter hovered over the Himakati airspace, ready to land.

Brandon Potter gently woke Adrian Desmond, who was dozing, "Sixth Master, we’ve arrived."

Adrian opened his eyes warily and looked out the window to see the vast green stretch. In the distance, Adrian could vaguely spot the gorge area, which was Xavier Young’s territory, a place called Woodenshade Village.

His woman is there, Adrian felt a bit excited, his hand on the chest clenched tight.

"Sixth Master, we’re ready to land."

"Hmm."

Their landing spot was twenty miles away from Woodenshade Village, originally a village where most people had died in the skirmish; those who hadn’t were gone, thus abandoned.

The helicopter slowly landed on the open ground at the eastern end of the village, its rotating blades whipping up dust and leaves, obscuring vision.

The group disembarked from the helicopter, ready to set up camp.

"Sixth Master, this village is so rundown, it seems uninhabitable."

Brandon Potter gazed at the dilapidated, decaying village.

If night falls, with some sound effects, it could totally serve as a ghost film set. She couldn’t understand why Adrian insisted on setting up camp here.

"Go check if there’s anyone left in the village?" Adrian ordered.

"Sixth Master, I’ll go." Barnes Smythe proposed.

Barnes Smythe led a team into the abandoned village for an investigation.

The village wasn’t large, many houses had collapsed with no sign of habitation.

Barnes confirmed there were no people and returned to report to Adrian, "Sixth Master, the whole village is deserted."

Adrian observed the terrain and told the group, "Alright, we’ll encamp here."

Brandon Potter inquired, "Sixth Master, why not find somewhere in the village to stay? Despite the decay, there should be houses still inhabitable, better than tents surely?"

"Those houses, long dilapidated, are simply uninhabitable. If we sleep inside, and they collapse at midnight, buried alive, not even an excavator could find us." Adrian explained.

Barnes Smythe chuckled, "Sixth Master, you’re quite humorous."

Brandon Potter regarded the red-haired, gum-chewing Barnes and scolded, "How dare you speak to Sixth Master like that?"

"What’s wrong in saying Sixth Master is humorous?"

Adrian retorted, "I don’t enjoy joking!"

"OK!" Barnes shrugged nonchalantly.

Barnes, unfazed by Adrian, spoke up, "Sixth Master, I’ve heard your close quarter combat is formidable, let’s spar once your injuries are healed."

Most people around Adrian feared him, so Barnes’ talkativeness surprised Adrian. He looked at Barnes, his talk of sparring revealed the excitement of wanting to ’teach a lesson’ from his eyes.

If the tiger doesn’t display its might, do they really think it has become a sick cat?

Maxwell Robertson also chimed in, "Sixth Master, I wish to learn your gun assembly technique. I heard you can assemble an AC556 in just five seconds, but after much practice, I can’t surpass seven seconds. Could you share the trick?"

Adrian observed the young group, each face full of vigor, like calves unafraid of tigers, their temperament still requiring some polishing.

Sabrina Conner interrupted, "Sixth Master, my name’s Sabrina Conner, 24 years old, previously developing various weaponry, you’ve always been my idol. I’m very pleased to work beside you... Sixth Master, if you help, could I request an autograph?"

"Alyssa Potter, were these folks recruited by you personally?" Adrian found the group increasingly unreliable.

Brandon Potter smacked those few on the back of their heads, scolding, "How dare you speak to Sixth Master like that?"

"Auntie, could you stop hitting my head? I depend on my brain, you ruin it, can you afford it?" Barnes teased.

Brandon Potter mercilessly hit the back of Barnes’ head again, scolding, "Auntie? Who’s your Auntie? Mind your words!"

"Calling you Sister, will you answer?"

"Why wouldn’t I? You call me Sister, I’ll respond."

"Auntie!"

"I’ll whack you brat!"

Brandon Potter chased and beat Barnes, while he scampered up walls and climbed trees, monkey-like. Seeing Adrian’s frown, Barnes tried to explain, "Sixth Master, although they seem somewhat unreliable, each has their skills, and are very loyal, you can trust them."

With a complete reshuffle around him, many faces unfamiliar, he couldn’t even remember them all, "What’s your name?"

"Sixth Master, I’m Barnes Smythe, from a base. We’re honored to be chosen to work beside Sixth Master."

Briefly acquainted, Barnes proved the steadier among the group, unsmilingly fitting Adrian’s temper.

"Do well, I won’t let you down."

"Yes, Sixth Master!"

The group encamped where they were, unloading essentials from the helicopter, setting up tents. To the unfamiliar, it seemed as though they were camping.

The mosquitoes here were all around, descending like a black cloud when night fell, making Brandon Potter miserable, especially when it came to convenience issues.

Men simply procured their tools for urination, stood there, and went with ease, whereas she found it inconvenient.

The leap from simplicity to luxury is easy, from luxury back to simplicity is difficult,

After years of comfort, adapting to this life was hard.

"Auntie, what are you looking at?"

Brandon Potter planned to find a secluded spot for urination, startled by the voice overhead, she looked up to find Barnes crouched high on a branch, gazing at her.

"Brat, are you a monkey? Why perch on a tree?"

"Peeing." With that, he stood, turned around, unzipped his pants, standing on the tree.

Splashing... Brandon Potter felt some liquid splattering onto her face, fearful of exposure, she could have screamed.

Urine!

"Barnes, get down! I’ll break that weapon!" Brandon Potter roared.

Barnes calmly zipped up, turned, and crouched staring at her, back in the same pose.

"I came to pee, why’re you here? You’re skulking around like a thief."

She intended to urinate!

Yet this wasn’t something she could comfortably admit.

Adrian brought fifty people, only she was a woman, personal lives were truly inconvenient.

"Barnes, focus on your work, don’t meddle." Brandon Potter regretted recruiting them.
