The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 770 - 811: The News Brought by Brett Jacobs
"Barnes, go back and tell them to show some respect to Sixth Master, no laughing and joking in front of him. Otherwise, if Sixth Master gets upset and sends you back to the base, don’t say I didn’t warn you."
When recruiting, she focused too much on capability, not realizing character was more important. These youngsters were too cocky, and earlier Adrian was already quite dissatisfied with them.
"Who said we don’t respect Sixth Master? We worship him; that’s why we’re here. Otherwise, why would we follow Sixth Master to find a woman?"
Find Sienna Johnson, boring?
Brandon seriously wanted to cover this brat’s mouth, "Kid, that’s Madam!"
"I heard she’s very pretty?" Barnes gossiped.
"Yes!"
"How pretty?"
"Pretty enough to make Sixth Master head over heels, imagine that."
Actually, Brandon hadn’t seen Sienna Johnson in person, only in photos. From the photos, she was clearly a captivating beauty. Even as a straight woman, Brandon found herself liking her.
Barnes had that spaced-out expression again, as if deep in thought, "Indeed, beauty can conquer heroes, and Sixth Master is no exception."
"Sixth Master is a man after all!"
"Is Xavier Young more handsome than Sixth Master?"
"No."
"Then why did Madam leave Sixth Master and elope with Xavier Young?"
Upon hearing this, Brandon couldn’t even bother cleaning up the liquid on her face in disgust; she just wanted to pull him down and cover Barnes’ mouth to stop him from talking.
"Who did you hear this from? What nonsense are you saying? What Madam and Xavier eloping? Barnes, are you bored with life, daring to say such things?"
"I’m just curious!"
"Curiosity killed the cat! Behave yourself and learn from Marion’s steadiness; Sixth Master likes people like Marion."
"Hmph!"
Barnes jumped down from the tree, hands in his camo pants pockets, walking hunched over.
Watching his back, Brandon shook her head, "Why do I feel this kid will cause trouble sooner or later?" Her mood was akin to a mother worrying over a rebellious teenage son.
The brat left, and only then did Brandon remember why she was here; she didn’t dare go too far, found a place casually to solve the problem.
The sound of rushing water made Brandon’s face turn red.
Really want to go home!
...
Dinner was made by Marion, and Brandon, not knowing how to cook, was brutally mocked by Barnes again.
Brandon also came from the base; women from the base aren’t trained to be model wives or mothers.
Cooking for more than fifty people, Marion was sweating, but Adrian said he had no appetite and didn’t want to eat.
Holding the packed meal, Marion looked at the closed tent and asked, "Is he dissatisfied with my cooking?"
"Probably missing Madam," Brandon said.
Sabrina also looked towards the tent, "Why is Sixth Master different from the legendary Sixth Master?"
"What is the legendary Sixth Master like?" Brandon casually asked.
Barnes replied, "A perfect human weapon!"
Sabrina said, "He’s just another man bewitched by a woman. I think we don’t need to compete anymore."
Marion scolded, "You two shut up! If you don’t want to eat, get lost!"
The two listened to Marion well, Barnes muttered, "I know Sixth Master is your idol. He used to be ours too, but without the idol halo, Sixth Master is just like this."
Brandon swept a glance at the youngsters before her and said, "You all need a lesson! Someday Sixth Master will humble you, and then you’ll behave."
"You guys fear him; I’m not afraid of him!"
People from the base only trust strength. Being the Boss isn’t easy, if Adrian can’t deal with them, he can’t be Boss.
"Someone!" Marion suddenly said.
In front of them, three people set down their meals, quickly drew guns from their pockets, ran to the tent in sync, aiming inside. Brandon hadn’t even reacted to what was happening.
Nonetheless, Brandon was satisfied in her heart; although their words were unpleasant, in times of danger, they still thought to protect Adrian first.
