Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Is Everything Still Going Smoothly?

Summer’s eyes briefly flickered with a cold smile, but her expression remained composed as she murmured "Mm," and climbed into the car.

She could sense that the driver was much more respectful to her, undoubtedly following Henry Stanton’s orders.

Indeed, once she became the useful "Sadie," all the treatment was different than before.

But ever since discovering that Henry Stanton wasn’t her biological father, this kind of nauseating matter didn’t stir any emotions within her heart anymore.

After getting in the car, Summer looked up toward the hotel floors.

She saw the curtains near the bed on her floor flutter briefly, as if someone had been standing there watching her.

Was it an illusion?

How could Damian Knight possibly watch her leave...

Summer withdrew her gaze, her eyes faint, contemplating how to navigate through the layered mists enveloping her present situation.

Yet she had a premonition that if she could unravel the mystery of her origins, the day she uncovers the truth wouldn’t be far off.

Shortly, the car arrived at the gates of Stanton Manor.

Besides sleeping during the IV infusion, Summer hadn’t slept much all night, but there were two others in the manor who hadn’t slept either.

When Henry Stanton received the news that Summer had arrived at the doorstep, he immediately rushed out of his study to go downstairs.

Meanwhile, Stella Monroe also received the news.

"Did she really only just come back?" Stella’s face was full of disbelief.

The servant nodded and said, "Yes. Sir has already gone downstairs to welcome her."

"Welcome..."

Stella’s hand began to tremble.

Henry Stanton actually went downstairs personally to welcome Summer, which meant Summer succeeded!

Summer had successfully climbed up Damian Knight’s high branch, making it much harder for Stella to deal with her now.

Stella dismissed the servant, pacing anxiously in her room.

After much thought, she called Felix Jennings to tell him about Summer’s situation.

Felix, with an ’I knew this would happen’ tone, said, "I told you yesterday, with Summer’s looks, there’s no way she wouldn’t seize the opportunity if it presented itself, yet you didn’t believe me!"

Stella clicked her tongue and said, "This isn’t the time to talk about me; quickly think of a solution!"

Felix: "What else can we do? Stick to the original plan! Besides, this might not be a bad thing."

"She’s already cozied up to Damian Knight, and it’s not a bad thing?"

"Don’t be anxious, listen to me. According to our plan, she would at most gain a reputation of being wanton, but now it’s different. If our plan succeeds, she’d be betraying Damian Knight! You know, those who betray the Knight Family never meet a good end."

Stella’s eyes rekindled with light.

"You’re right! When Damian Knight erupts in anger, he might even take revenge on Henry Stanton too. If the opportunity arises, we can use this chance to take down Henry Stanton! Let the Stanton Group become entirely ours!"

"Then, you’ll belong to me alone, my dear Moon..."

Stella’s face showed a tender smile: "Mm, then hurry and make arrangements, find the medicine you’re looking for as soon as possible."

"Got it."

After the call ended, Stella went downstairs in a good mood.

She wanted to savor Summer’s final moments of triumph; the more exuberant Summer became, the greater her eventual despair would be.

The disparity between falling from heaven to hell is no ordinary difference.

Downstairs, Henry Stanton walked quickly outside, his face lighting up with joy upon seeing Summer: "Sadie! My precious daughter is back! Was everything going smoothly?"

It didn’t even need asking, judging by when Summer returned — last night must have gone very smoothly!

Summer’s face showed a demure, soft smile: "I suppose... it went relatively smoothly?"
