The Billionaire's New Wife in Chief-Chapter 992 - 391: Song Qiao Meets Her Son
Little Wangshu immediately nodded, his face beaming with a bright smile, looking very happy.
However, just as Lu Jingchen lowered his head to start washing the vegetables, he heard Little Wangshu cautiously say, "Dad, will Mom... will Mom like me? What if she doesn’t like me?"
Lu Jingchen looked up at his son in front of him and saw the little guy with a look of loss and fear, truly afraid that Song Qiao wouldn’t like him.
His hands were all wet, and although Lu Jingchen wanted to habitually ruffle his hair, he quickly put his hand down as he lifted it, but his tone was gentle when he spoke, "She won’t, Mom will definitely like you, after all, you’re her child too, and she’s been asking Dad to bring her to meet you..."
As soon as Little Wangshu heard Lu Jingchen’s words, his eyes brightened with some surprise as he asked, "Really? Dad?"
Lu Jingchen nodded his head and responded, "Yes."
"..."
Aunt Chen handled all the ingredients and put them in a bowl, then said goodbye to Lu Jingchen and left.
In the past five years, Lu Jingchen rarely cooked. When he first married Song Qiao, he didn’t know how to cook either, or rather, had never even stepped into the kitchen, for he initially thought that cooking wasn’t something a man should do.
However, later on, it was because of Song Qiao that he learned to cook, and he found that seeing Song Qiao eat the food he made gave him a great sense of achievement.
Lu Jingchen made four dishes and one soup, just enough for the two adults and the child. Making more would only result in waste.
The little guy couldn’t help much, but he refused to leave the kitchen, standing quietly in a corner just watching.
It wasn’t until the last dish was almost done that Lu Jingchen had Lu Wangshu go upstairs to call Song Qiao.
...
Song Qiao was awakened by a soft, tender child’s voice. At first, she wasn’t sure where she was, thinking she was still in her home in Paris, even assuming it was Little Nianhuan calling her to get up, and she said with some dissatisfaction, "Nianhuan, stop it, let Mom sleep a bit more..."
Lu Wangshu stood by the bed, facing the bed which was only slightly higher than himself, but he could still only reach Song Qiao’s hand.
When he first entered the room, he hesitated a bit... even felt scared and worried, worried that Song Qiao wouldn’t like him, worried that waking her up would make her dislike him.
But then he remembered what his dad said, that Mom hadn’t eaten much today and was surely hungry, so he suppressed his inner worries and fears, walked in, and gently shook Song Qiao’s hand on tiptoe.
However, when he heard what Song Qiao said, he froze because he realized that his mom had another child...
Thinking of this, Lu Wangshu suddenly felt a sense of fear, fearing that his mom might like other kids and not him.
After saying those words, Song Qiao suddenly felt that something was off, and without opening her eyes, she remembered that she wasn’t in Paris.
The next second, she sat up abruptly and, upon opening her eyes, was faced with the surprising and unchanged room setting that left her with her mouth agape.
She quickly looked around, and if her memory was correct, this was the bedroom where she and Lu Jingchen lived when they first got married?
The furnishings in the room hadn’t changed a bit; it was still the same wallpaper, the same chandelier, the same desk, and still the same dressing table... exactly as it was five years ago when she left.
Instinctively, she turned her head to look behind her and then lifted her gaze upwards, her body stiffening slightly before quickly averting her gaze.
She seemed to have realized something.
Above the headboard of the bed behind her, the wall still hung the wedding photo she and Lu Jingchen took...
Lu Wangshu obediently stood by the side, watching Song Qiao’s series of reactions, his little lips moved, but he couldn’t say anything, not knowing where to place his little hands.
Song Qiao sensed a gaze falling on her. When she turned her head, she saw the little guy standing by the bed, her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t look away for a moment.
Her first reaction was, this was the son she bore after ten months of pregnancy...
Lu Wangshu saw Song Qiao steadily watching him, and his little body first stiffened, then instinctively ran towards the door.
Song Qiao saw him running straight for the door, her words catching in her throat. Seeing the little guy about to run out, she hurriedly called, "Hey... wait, I..."
However, the little guy seemed not to hear her, opened the door, and ran out, closing the door behind him.
Song Qiao felt as if a large piece of her heart had been dug out, causing a sharp pain inside.
Without thinking or hesitating, she threw the covers aside and got out of bed, but she wasn’t fully awake yet after taking a nap, and her legs gave way, her vision going momentarily black as she fell back onto the bed.
When Song Qiao opened the door to exit, little guy’s figure was already absent.
Her feet were bare, stepping directly onto the slightly cold floor. Not seeing the little guy in the hallway, she turned towards the stairs.
After walking a few steps, she suddenly saw a small head peeking out from around the corner at the bottom of the stairs, looking at her with big eyes full of caution.
Song Qiao’s anxious heart finally calmed down. While regaining her senses, she had thought she was hallucinating, but seeing the little guy looking at her not far away reassured her heart.
However, she was still not sure if the little guy in front of her was real, or if it was a figment of her imagination.
She bent down in place, looking at the little guy not far away with caution and fear, her voice softening, "Can you come over here? I want to hold you... is that okay?"
Lu Wangshu heard Song Qiao’s words and wanted to run over. After all, he had never been held by his mother since he was born.
But in the end, he didn’t move and instead remained standing there, his voice soft as he quietly asked, "Are you... are you really my mom?"
Song Qiao nodded directly, her eyes suddenly reddening, "Yeah, I’m your mom... come here, let Mom hold you, okay?"
