Harlow watched the two women in front of her with a smirk. The sheer stupidity on their faces was almost entertaining. Did they really think she’d fall for their cheap tricks? Only fools would believe those badly edited photos and videos they had sent.

"This is horrendous, Harlow." Lia scoffed, trying to sound outraged. "How can you be so heartless to your own sister?"

Harlow tilted her head, amused. "I’m heartless? I’m the one who lost millions, I’m the one who missed an important meeting. I demanded an apology and you felt insulted, so I’m asking to be paid the millions your stupidity made me lose."

Claudia’s jaw clenched. Since when did Harlow start having meetings with investors? That wasn’t part of the plan.

They had all expected the business to fail so that they could all laugh at both Alanis and Harlow, but it did the opposite. The business has blossomed since Harlow’s arrival.

Harlow had really cornered them this time. Claudia thought she had won with the prank lies, but who knew Harlow would take it so far?

Who knew this bitch would demand her money?

"Are you telling me, the daughter of Frank Blackwood is broke that she cannot pay me back?" Claudia’s heart raced wildly.

Harlow couldn’t possibly embarrass her before Alanis and everyone in here.

"Hurry up and apologize to your sister Claudia. You did something wrong. Own up to it if you will not pay." Frank said.

Claudia knew she had no money with her, not even a dollar was in her name. She had used the last money she had to pay the loan shark and had still not been able to pay even a quarter of the money. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Frank had no money to squander either. He might have been the richest man, but that was with assets, not cash. Plus he spent almost everything he owned to get his business back up again but nothing worked. The hacker really destroyed him.

"F... Father..."

"Do it quickly Claudia, you’re the one at the wrong this time," Frank demanded. "And you two Lia, we all know you have no money to pay Harlow back so apologize to her now." Lia frowned at this. Never in her life did she think she would kneel and apologize to Harlow.

It seems there is no way out of this, especially since Frank now supports the girl.

Claudia and Lia were both about to apologize when a voice sounded so loud.

"Why would my daughter apologize to you?" Elisa stepped in. She had overheard everything while passing by and refused to stay silent. No one, no one... was going to bully her daughter.

She saw the flower truck drive in early this morning from her window and thought Frank had sent it to apologize for last night’s dinner and was ready to make amends.

Elisa had purposely waited in her room all morning for the flower to be delivered but she saw none, that is why she had stepped out.

When she saw a maid in the hall she asked about the flower and the girl said Alanis Hamilton had ordered it for his wife Harlow. Elisa frowned and found her way over here.

She envied Harlow right now. Claudia should be the one in this position, not Harlow. She should be the one Alanis would love and care for, not her stupid stepdaughter.

"Mother, I already told Harlow everything was a prank, yet she wants me to apologize and pay her for wasting her time." Claudia rushed to her mother’s side. Elisa is the only one who can support her and bring her out of this mess.

"You again!" Elisa turned to Harlow. "How dare you try to humiliate my daughter?" She asked.

"Don’t get involved if you’re not willing to pay for them," Harlow said coldly to see her stepmother frown even more. This useless girl is looking down on her over a little amount of money?

And how the hell does Claudia not have the money to silence Harlow when every week she gets millions from them?

"How much is the money? I’ll pay." Elisa said proudly. Harlow was talking to the richest woman in all of Halkhalls right now. Even if Frank had sold the company, the company is the only thing he sold. They still had their real estate and diamond company. The demise of the company did nothing to them.

"500 million, can I get the money back?" Harlow stretched her hands ready to receive the money from her stepmother, but the woman’s next action shocked everyone in the room.

Elisa turned to Frank who removed his gaze from her. She didn’t have that kind of money now, she had spent everything on Bodhi to buy his mouth.

"Just watch and see how Mother silences you once and for all Harlow. You’ll regret ever doing this to me." Claudia blabbed making the situation more difficult. At this rate, there were a few maids around already whispering something to themselves.

They all stared at Elisa who had big mouth just moments ago staring into space.

"What you and Lia did is highly unacceptable sweetheart." Elisa turned to Claudia, her voice shamefully calm. "If Harlow wants an apology, then apologize to her." Claudia’s eyes went wide at her mother’s words. She couldn’t believe Elisa would demand such a from her.

"Mother!" Claudia cried out.

"But Aunty, I thought you had the money."

"Shut up Lia. This is all your fault." Elisa barked. "Even if I have the money, I’ll never give a dime to this girl." She spat and Harlow smiled.

"In other words, you don’t have the money. And neither does the two of you." She mocked.

"Hurry up and apologize to her quickly," Frank said again.

"We’re sorry Harlow for messing with you." Both Claudia and Lia sang in unison.

"But how do we know Harlow’s not lying?" Elisa suddenly asked feeling so embarrassed about not being able to pay Harlow back her money. Her useless stepdaughter has managed to embarrass her and even disgrace her daughter before everyone. She would never let this slide. So she must embarrass Harlow back herself.

To Elisa, there is no business meeting and her niece is only lying about everything. If only she could prove her thought.

"That’s enough Elisa." Frank’s cut her off this time. It’s enough that she has already embarrassed herself before Harlow, doing it a second time would be truly shameful, especially before Alanis who hasn’t stopped staring at his wife.

"What, you’re taking Harlow’s side now?" Elisa asked irritably. She had no idea why Frank decided to change all of a sudden. Why did he decide to support Harlow?

"Don’t come back begging when I prove that Harlow lied about everything." She said turning to her stepdaughter.

"The Hamilton’s Corp isn’t even that big, so why would Harlow have a meeting with someone willing to invest that amount of money?" Elisa asked her confidence spilling and Harlow only smiled.

"Or did you want to extort money from us?" Elisa asked.

"How can you do that Harlow? You made us beg you over a little Prank when you were lying all along?" Claudia cried out.

"This is straight-up bullying." She added. "Alanis, I know Harlow is your wife, you should talk some sense into her. Treating her family like this is totally unfair." Claudia continued with her speech, but Alanis didn’t say a word to her.

He knew his wife could handle little situations like this, there was no need to intervene for her.

Elisa smirked as she stared at her stepdaughter. She has her right where she wanted her, now she would see how Harlow would get out of these.

"Even if Harlow lied about the investor’s money, Claudia and Lia are still wrong for locking her in her room like that. We should forget about all of these and just have one peaceful breakfast together." Frank said but Elisa frowned at him.

She has always known her husband to be useless, in fact, his supportive attitude towards Harlow was not surprising at all.

"It was alright when Harlow insulted us before everyone with her lies, but when it’s our turn to laugh, it’s a problem." Elisa spat. "Keep showing how much of a biased father you can be." She said.

"Now you better show us proof or you kneel and kiss our feet." Elisa turned to her stepdaughter only to see her smile.

If she could prove that Harlow had lied about the business meeting with investors, she would make her pay easily. This time, Elisa was very sure Harlow had lied.

Harlow turned to her stepmother with a slow, knowing smile. "Are you sure of what you’re saying, Elisa?" She let out a light chuckle. "You really think I’m like your daughters?"

Elisa crossed her arms. "It’s easy to say you met with investors. But where’s the proof?"

"If I have proof, you and your daughters will kiss my foot. Agreed?"
