She hated him...
She... wanted him?
How was that even possible? When had it happened? How had it happened?
Harlow felt her mind warring with itself. Every logical part of her screamed to push him away, to remind him, remind herself, that she despised him.
But her heart... her body...
They betrayed her.
Alanis has been nothing but good to her. He has slowly crept into her heart with his annoying attitude.
Alanis tilted his head closer, his warm breath fanning against her parted lips. She could stop him now. She should stop him.
But she didn’t...
She couldn’t...
Instead, she stayed perfectly still, waiting, wanting, for what was coming next.
Then it happened.
His lips finally met hers.
A soft gasp slipped from her throat as warmth spread through her. Her heart pounded so violently she was sure he could hear it.
Alanis didn’t rush.
This kiss was different from all the others they’d shared before. It wasn’t rough, wasn’t filled with anger or desperate need. It was slow, unhurried like he was savoring every second, every taste of her.
His lips moved against hers, coaxing, exploring, making her forget all the reasons she shouldn’t be doing this. Making her forget she hated him more than the devil himself.
This man was her sin. Her temptation.
Then his tongue slid between her parted lips, deepening the kiss.
Harlow’s breath hitched as he stole the very air from her lungs.
Her fingers curled into the front of his shirt before she could stop herself, pulling him closer instead of pushing him away.
He groaned softly in response, his hands finding her waist, his touch gentle yet firm, as if holding onto something fragile.
She didn’t expect this.
Didn’t expect him to kiss her like this, like she was something precious.
Maybe... just maybe... she could forgive him?
Her mind barely had time to process the thought before Alanis tilted his head, deepening the kiss even further.
And just like that, she was lost.
After a while, Alanis pulled out gently and watched her catch her breath gently. "Let’s go in Villian, I don’t want you catching a cold." He picked her up without warning and carried her back inside her room.
"Have you fallen in love with me now?" He asked with a smile and Harlow ignored him. Her face was still so very red from the kiss. It was indeed hot, hotter than she had imagined back then.
It’s quite comical he was fulfilling all of her wishes one after another. She had been upset at first, but right now, she was curious about what fantasy he would be fulfilling this time.
"Stop dreaming," Harlow responded after moments of hesitation. This was just a fling and it was the last time she would let Alanis kiss her again. She could not forget her revenge, Alex and her other children would be frowning at her now.
This time, she has really failed them by letting Alanis close to her again.
The next morning, Harlow woke up to the sweet smell of rose flowers all around her. As she opened her eyes, she could see roses placed all around the room again.
When she said she wanted to be waking up to roses, she hadn’t meant it this way. Harlow sighed. She wasn’t as angry as she was the first day he did it, but that didn’t mean she liked it.
She wondered how the roses got here if the door was locked. Unless Alanis lied to her and has locked her here himself. Harlow frowned and got out of bed.
Harlow walked up to the door and twisted the doorknob to see if open freely. Her frown deepened.
Alanis had kept her in here just to kiss her? She stormed out of her bedroom and over to the living room only to see Alanis seated with her father. freēnovelkiss.com
"I’m so sorry Alanis for Claudia’s childish behavior. I don’t know why she keeps acting like a child." Claudia glared at her father stylishly for bad-mouthing her before Alanis.
"It was all Lia’s fault." She defended herself but Frank shot her a glare and she was silent.
"You’re a woman now Claudia, and soon a mother, if you continue to act this way, what lessons will you be giving
You should have called or asked someone for help Alanis, why didn’t you?"
"I had a fantasy to fulfill. But locking us in there and trying to frame my wife and label her a whore is unacceptable." As if noticing her presence, both men turned to look at her.
"You’re awake?" Came Alanis’s voice.
"Yes, and apparently with so much roses again." Her words made him smile.
"I’m glad you like it my villain." Both Claudia and Lia rolled their eyes at their words.
Of course, they had all seen the roses Alanis got for his wife. He brought a full truck of different rose flowers, even the rarest of roses were there.
It’s the reason Claudia and Lia had been exposed too.
Staring at Harlow, Claudia felt so jealous of her sister. Everything Alanis is doing now was supposed to be for her. When she was reborn, she had hoped to win him over again, but it seems her sister was one step ahead and even now. She was still a step ahead at winning his love.
Claudia knew she needed to do something to make Alanis hate Harlow, but what could that be? There is no trick she hasn’t tried out yet.
She got up immediately and moved towards her sister. "I didn’t mean to harm you, Harlow. I and Lia just wanted to play a game with you." Claudia grabbed Harlow’s hands gently as she spoke.
Since Alanis sees her as a bad person she would have to change his mind again.
"That is true. We were only messing with you and Alanis, we had no idea things would get to this point." Harlow smiled at their words.
Since the tides were no longer in Claudia’s and Lia’s favor, they decided to turn everything in their favor again.
"Yes Harlow, you don’t have to take things to heart," Claudia said. "We know Alanis loves you so much. Why would he listen to our silly jokes?" Claudia laughed out and Lia followed suit.
Harlow knew they weren’t joking when they tried to set her up. If Alanis wasn’t with her, they would have succeeded with their plans maybe. She had read the text, she knew their plans.
"It’s bad if you take things to heart Harlow. We truly meant no harm." Lia added.
"That little joke was far too expensive. I’m sure I’m not the only one aware of it." Alanis said calmly.
"Brother Alanis." Lia hurried to his side. "I had no idea our little prank joke would lead to this. I’m so sorry." She said.
"I’m not the one you should be apologizing to." Alanis turned to his wife, "Apologize to my wife. She’s the one you wrongly accused." Alanis casually remarked and Lia’s eyes turned wide.
"Why would I do that, I was only joking?" Lia asked with a frown. She would never apologize to Harlow. She can’t apologize to this bitch.
"You locked me in my room, Lia, sent a message to Alanis, lying about me being with another man," Harlow said. "You sent fake Photos to my husband, telling him how much you pimping Claudia to him." Alanis felt so proud to be called her husband and Lia’s eyes went wide at her accusations.
"I never did such." Lia lied.
"Wonder who responded to your messages?" Harlow smiled.
"That’s enough Harlow, there’s no need to try to bring back whatever had happened. We told you we were only joking." Claudia said.
"By sending how pleasing you are in bed to my husband. Your child would be so ashamed to call you its mother."
"Don’t make this any bigger than it is Harlow. Claudia is pregnant with brother George why would she try to seduce Alanis? I’m the one who sent the messages to brother Alanis because I prefer Claudia to you." Lia said like her hatred for Harlow meant anything to her.
"Good luck with that, I don’t care what you think," Harlow said. "But I need an apology for even playing such tricks with me. You made me lose lots of money last night, or do you want to pay me back?"
"That is too much Harlow, you want your sister-in-law to kneel before you? Are you trying to humiliate her?" Claudia asked.
Harlow smiled at her words, when will these people know that she doesn’t care about their little feelings? "Well, since you don’t want her to be embarrassed, you could pay for her." Claudia pressed her lips together, embarrassment washing over her.
After she bragged the previous day, she couldn’t let Harlow know she was broke. What has she gotten herself into? She should have known Lia’s sabotaging plans were stupid.
