"You should eat more my dear, it’ll make your babies healthy." Charlotte beamed. Grandma Hamilton knew Claudia was pregnant with her great-grandchild but she needed to see her favorite grandson’s children before she died. She knew her granddaughter-in-law would produce beautiful great-grandchildren for her.
Harlow said nothing to the older woman as she knew the Charlotte that knew about her past was somewhere in there. She had forgotten everything about the past completely so she would never understand why she doesn’t want to have a child.
Harlow opened her mouth to speak, but Charlotte beat her to it. "This beautiful mansion is the best place to raise my grandchildren, you did great-grandson." Charlotte praised him.
"Tell me when we’re moving in completely?"
"We’ve already moved in completely," Alanis responded as he threw the freshly cut tomato in his mouth avoiding the gaze of the woman who sat across from him.
"I never agreed to such." Harlow bellowed her mouth filled with berries. And Charlotte didn’t stop adding more to her plate. She wanted her granddaughter-in-law healthy enough to bear great-grandchildren for her. She didn’t care if Harlow took care of them, she was more than willing to care for them as she did Alanis when his mother died.
"We made an agreement remember?" Harlow frowned at his words.
"I said..."
"You gave me three days and I did as asked." He shrugged.
"You never asked me if I liked it." She emptied her mouth ready to face him. She will never let Alanis win this time.
"I know you do."
"No, I don’t."
"Come, on, you two don’t always have to fight." Grandma Hamilton said.
"Grandma, tell Alanis to take me back to the Villa, I don’t want to stay here," Harlow said to the older woman.
Charlotte turned to her grandson, it’s not nice to force her. If Harlow doesn’t want to stay here, then she can go back.
"Alanis..."
"It’s already demolished," Alanis said shocking both women.
"What?" Charlotte asked.
"Then I can stay with grandma till we renovate the Villa."
"I demolished Grandma’s Villa too." Charlotte’s eyes went wide. Alanis had demolished her home because of his little fight with his wife.
"This must be a joke, Alanis, you can’t go about threatening us with stuffs like that." Charlotte huffed feeling so frustrated already. That Villa had hidden things, things she promised her late husband she would never let any eyes see until she died.
How dare her notorious grandson destroy her property without telling her.
"Stuffs like what? I did demolish the Villas because I felt it wasn’t useful anymore Grandma." Charlotte’s mouth hung open, she couldn’t believe he had really destroyed her treasure.
"You think we’re fools, don’t you? Where’s the proof you did demolish the Villas." Harlow rolled her eyes. She would never believe a word he says until he provides proof.
Alanis turned on his phone and with a few clicks, he showed them the demolished building. Both Harlow and Charlotte’s mouths were hanging open. Alanis had really destroyed their home.
"Kidnapping us and keeping us here would have been a better option. How dare you destroy our home?" Charlotte smacked the table before her.
"If I kept you two here, you would escape and give me more hard time. You have nothing to worry about, I kept your important document including your little secrets safe and in your chamber." He said calmly.
Charlotte paused her lips, too shocked to utter a word. This rascal... And here she thought George was her problem, Alanis was more troublesome than George.
"Uhm Harlow..." Charlotte turned to her granddaughter-in-law who looked so furious right now. She looked like she could kill Alanis at any moment.
"Let’s just stay here, besides this place is even much better than the Villa."Charlotte bellowed. "But you have to rebuild whatever you destroyed Alanis, your father worked so hard to make that place perfect." She yelled at him.
"I’d rather live in a hotel than stay with you." Harlow voiced out amusing the man seated across from her.
"Don’t speak like that granddaughter-in-law, this mansion is better than whatever hotel you think you’d love," Charlotte said trying to coarse her daughter-in-law into staying, but Alanis’s next words scattered everything.
"Let her be grandma, let’s see what hotel will accept her." He bragged, his words only turning her more angry.
What hotel will accept her?
Did he really think she didn’t have where to live?
She had her own mansion, she had estates to her name. Did Alanis really think she has nothing?
"Don’t come begging when I leave because you’re fond of that." Harlow rose and started walking away. She’ll show him what it means to be in charge. He’ll look for her, but he will never be able to find her.
Harlow stepped back into the mansion to get her cell phone and her keys before leaving the mansion. She picked up a car key when she reached the lounge without an idea what car it was and found her way to the garage. When she got there she pressed a key, got into the car and started driving out.
"What are you doing sitting here, your wife is leaving go after her," Charlotte yelled at her grandson but he didn’t move. He only threw another freshly cut tomato in his mouth and started chewing.
Alanis loved the catch-and-chase, he wanted to see how far she could go. How long she’ll be away?
"When Harlow drove out of the estate, she called Richie. There was no point staying in a hotel when that man would easily find her or staying in one of her homes. He could trace her. She needed a place she’d never been to before.
"Boss," Richie called wondering why his boss was calling at this time of the day. He wondered if something bad had happened after the way Alanis stole her away.
"I need you to find a house for me," Harlow said.
"B... Boss?" Richie called wondering if he had heard wrongly. With the way his boss agreed to go with her scumbag husband and her recent peaceful life, he thought things were changed for them. Maybe he had been wrong.
"Don’t make me repeat myself. I need a new apartment in a place no one would ever find me. Make sure it’s rented under a name that is not related to us." She said.
"O... Of course." He had no idea what stupid game his boss and madam were playing this time but the last thing he wanted was to get involved.
"I... I’ll send the address when I’m done." He hung up.
"What did she say?" Edward asked.
"To find a house for her." Came Richie’s confused words.
"Did that asshole already mess with their boss again? Oh, he’s going to get it from us this time." Elena clenched he’d her hands into a fist.
"This is why I never trusted him in the first place."
"Those people really don’t know who boss is do they?" Elena said. Harlow would be the most feared person in the city if they knew who she truly was. A top hacker? The same person who had singlehandedly brought down the Blackwood’s multibillion-dollar company because she got into a fight with her father.
"We don’t know what happened this time, let’s not be quick to judge," Richie said and left the room. He had to find a place for his boss as soon as possible.
After a while, Harlow got the address of her new apartment and quickly went to the location. It was far away from the Hamilton’s or Blackwood’s mansion. Or even Alanis’s new mansion. If he thinks he can control her however he likes them he must be joking.
Harlow was so focused on her fight that she had no idea the media was in shambles after the big reveal. Not only was the media in shambles, but the Blackwood’s mansion was on fire.
After the big embarrassment and betrayal last night, Frank had only woken up to the news of his daughter buying his company.
"What am I hearing Frank?" Elisa asked. She would have let things go if the buyer was someone else, but the buyer was none other than her stepdaughter. The same Harlow she had deemed a fool and that would amount to nothing.
This was the biggest humiliation.
"I... Had no idea." Frank confessed sincerely.
"You have one week to prove yourself to me Frank, or else it’s over," Elisa warned. Claudia said nothing as she stared at her father, right now, there was no difference between Frank and the father she had rejected.
She could care less if the truth finally came out, it would do her no harm. It’s a good thing she had married George Hamiltons and was already pregnant for him.
"Elisa please don’t leave me too. You know there’s no way out of this. I already sold the company weeks ago." He said. There was truly nothing he could do.
