The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 305: Family Lunch

Emily was left completely dumbfounded by Crist’s second confession. She would have never guessed that her younger brothers were acting so rude towards Kaiden all because they were afraid of losing her.

She tightened her hold on his arm as it was the only comfort she could give him, and it seemed to work fine as Crist squeezed her hand lightly in return as he let out a small sigh. "He’s a great guy, Em. I’m so happy that you have someone like him to take care of you and love you for the rest of your life."

A smile bloomed on her lips as she found Crist also finally accepted Kaiden as her mate. She once again found herself looking in her said mate’s direction and found him already looking back at her. The twinkle in his cerulean eyes and the softness in his expression was a clear indication that he had already heard her conversation with Crist.

Her gaze then landed on Simon who was talking about something with Domenic at the farthest corner of the room. "What about that one?" She asked Crist as she signaled in Simon’s direction while she recalled that this particular brother wasnt mentioned in Crist’s confession, unlike Mark.

"That one? He’s just being himself. He’s grumpy and unwelcome towards every single being walking on this planet. Still... I’m not too assure. He could have his own reasons that I and the others aren’t aware of. You will find out if you will talk to him." Crist suggested as he too looked in Simon’s direction.

"What are you guys doing?" The two of them were disturbed by Leo as he moved to take a seat beside Emily and rested half of his weight on her left side, almost making her lose her balance if not for Crist’s hold on her.

"Discussing our brothers," Crist replied as he wrapped his other arm around Leo’s shoulders while his eyes searched for his next victim.

"Then let me join you guys." Leo offered immediately which made both Emily and Crist turn in his direction with raised eyebrows. "Why?" They both asked in unison.

Leo seemed almost intimidated by their gazes for a fleeting second but he was quick to pull himself together before he answered in a firm tone. "So that I won’t become your target. I would rather be the predator than the prey."

Emily didn’t hide the fact that she was literally impressed by his punchline at the end. She gave him a ’thumbs up’ before she turned her attention back to the rest of the people present in the room.

"Have you guys seen Dan’s girlfriend?" She asked when her gaze landed on her second brother who was busy on a call.

"I wish. All I know is that he has finally found someone after all these years." Crist commented as he too turned his attention to Daniel.

"All I know is that she’s a halfling and runs a bakery. She also seems to have a cute daughter... as per Rylan. But no matter how much I requested, he didn’t take me to see that lady." Leo was almost complaining about his mate by the end of his sentence. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"A halfling? That’s news to me. But I know about the other two. He’s going to be a dad soon if they really ended up getting together. I can hardly wait to finally meet her and while I’m being impatient inside, I don’t want to rush him and cause trouble. I’m sure he will introduce us to her once she will be ready." Emily added as she thought about finally meeting her second sister-in-law.

"Out of seven of us, only three have been able to find their love so far. What’s going to happen to the rest of us, especially me? After dating for so many years, I’m still unable to find the one for myself." Crist almost sounded sulky as he complained.

Emily turned to face her brother and so did Leo. "I’m sure you will definitely find your one and only. Just be patient." Leo was the first one to comfort their brother.

"That’s the only thing you know to say, right?" Crist was quick to call his younger brother out which made Emily appreciate for not being the one to speak first because she was going to say the exact same thing.

"Even though my words sound lame, I was being honest," Leo muttered as he gave Crist a very unhappy look for being called out like that by him.

"Are you three going to sit here and chat for the rest of the day?" Mark was there the very next moment, disturbing their little sweet moment.

Emily noticed Kaiden right beside Mark and found him reaching out to her with his palm. "Come, we are heading home. Domenic has already left to take care of the discharge procedure. I’ll drop you off at the mansion before returning to mine."

None of her brothers protested or even looked at him with questioning eyes for the very first time and it made Emily accept his offer without seeking her brothers’ permission for the very first time too. She just placed her hand in his waiting palm and the man immediately pulled her to her feet.

"Let’s go then. We will all set out together." Crist suggested and almost everyone in the room was moving out all at once.

Emily felt a tug on her hand and as she turned to look at Kaiden, she got surprised by the sudden kiss that engulfed her mouth and the gasp of shock that left her lips.

She had no idea which of her family members had witnessed the moment or if they, she and Kaiden, were coincidently the only ones left behind in the room. However, all those thoughts left her mind the moment he slipped his tongue inside her mouth.

A soft sigh left her as she found herself clutching tightly to his white shirt, the same one that he was wearing the previous night during their dinner, as she returned the kiss.
