The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 383: Back In The Nightmare
"Messing up with your life?" The man looked like he was being accused unfairly. He let out another laugh before he spoke, "No, my dear. I was doing no such thing. Instead, I was trying to help you by putting you in situations where your powers would have finally woken up to protect you."
"Why do you even wanted my powers to awaken?" Emily asked, her voice so sharp and loud that it echoed loudly through the room.
"Because I wanted to use your powers!" The man answered in a tone which said he wasn’t liking at all that she was accusing him for his actions. He immediately became silent when he saw the horrified look on her face. "No, wait! That’s not the right term. I must say, I wanted your powers to awaken so that you can help me conquer this entire world so that the two of us can rule it together. Doesn’t that sound so perfect?"
Emily couldn’t help but shake her head as she stared at the man in front of her. He looked more like a monster in that moment and she knew that if she didn’t get away from him soon, things would turn out for the worst for her.
The man let out a small sigh before he spoke, "I was so mad at you when you suddenly ran away from this place. Most importantly, you became smart enough to keep yourself hidden from my men who were searching for you everywhere. But then, I finally got news of your whereabouts after your mother’s death, only for your brothers to suddenly step forward and snatch you away from me."
He sounded so angry as he talked about her brothers and Emily suddenly found herself feeling relived that she made sure of their safety before leaving the mansion. Little did she knew that while she was busy facing the biggest nightmare of her life, her brothers had successfully convinced Aleron to allow them to join the fight along with him and the faes.
"Once you went to live with your brothers, it became hard to keep track on you, let alone kidnap you again. Despite being mere mortals, I must say that those Alessandro men are a tough competitor." It was so weird to see him praising anyone at all.
Without any break, the man continued, "Yet, there were times when they couldn’t keep you safe. I was all set to get you back when two more menace entered the story - Sullivans and the Supreme Sire. After that, it became impossible to reach you at all despite our efforts."
He shook his head recalling how hard he tried to get her back but failed miserably everytime because the most powerful Alpha of the werewolves and the Supreme Sire of the vampires were protecting her themselves.
"Later on, you left for academy and I completely lost track of you. After your return, I again tried to get to you but found that you started training and learning more about your powers. While my idea of waking your powers didn’t work, I saw your training doing that miracle. You also came of age and your powers officially awakened. So, I waited patiently for you to get powerful while I did the same in the dark."
He turned his attention back on Emily, his gaze so sharp that it almost made her forget how to breathe. "Now, my dear. We both are powerful. It’s time for us to work together and fulfill our dream."
"Your dream! Not mine." Emily said as she untied the last thread of the formation spell. "Don’t you dare think that I will ever help you in hurting any innocent being. A monster like you don’t even deserve to exist let alone rule this world."
Emily almost froze all over again when her words angered the man beyond words and he reached out to her with one of his hands raised high. She knew that he was going to hit her and just that realization brought back too many unhappy memories. Yet, she didn’t allow herself to succumb this time.
Calling out her magic, she broke the formation completely and used a spell to throw the man across the man. He was completely unprepared and thus ended up hitting the far wall of the room. His body landed on floor with a loud thud but he was still able to get up quickly.
He wiped away the little trail of blood from the corner of his lips as he spoke to her. "Very well, dear Emilia. I wasn’t expecting you to give up this quickly either. Don’t worry, I have made proper arrangements for everything. My men will keep you occupied here and I will take this moment to shred your brothers apart."
The threat made Emily’s brain stop working all together as fear took over her. Shaking her head, she spoke, "You can’t. They are safe in the-"
"They are no longer in the fae realm, my dear. They have come to join the war." The man told her much to Emily’s horror.
"No... no... NO! You won’t do anything to them. I won’t let you hurt them!"
She immediately called her powers and was ready to launch an attack on the man when a group of people suddenly appeared in front of her.
"Don’t hurt her. I need her alive to get rid of those three stupid men. Make sure to tame her properly though." The man advised his people before his silhouette disappeared from the room much to Emily’s horror.
She was ready to follow him but didn’t get the chance as a woman suddenly attacked her with a huge sword. Not left with any other choice, she turned her attention toward the group of people who were ready to fight her.
She summoned her own sword and laced it with her elemental magic before she faced the incoming attacks. The sound of sword clashing against swords filled the room as almost all of the monsters attacked her at once.
