The Broken Halo-Chapter 136: Child’s Heart
’A wife and son? This bastard has a wife and son?’
Simon’s pupils could not help but constrict in shock and disbelief as time seemed to slow down in his eyes.
He could see the little piglet running into the house, his little brain could not comprehend what his eyes saw on time.
As for the mother and the wife of the damned pig beneath his feet, she also did not look in their direction after opening the door.
Her eyes were on the multiple bags she was carrying, ensuring that they did not fall while trying to lock the door of her home.
Simon could see everything in slow motion, and this was not an ability of his, but his brain working on pure overdrive.
It was brain realizing that he was in a flight or fight response, and it was not false in the slightest but true.
Pellin’s wife and child were obstructing the view of those who passed by their house, preventing anybody from seeing what was going on in the house.
A little scream from either the wife or child would definitely attract the attention of those nearby, and this would cause Simon so many problems.
As Simon saw the wife and kid in a slowed world, the gears in his mind spun at lightning speed as he thought of what to do.
However, he already knew the answer the moment he saw the wife and child.
He had to kill them.
He had to kill both of them unless he wanted to risk his life.
A part of him which represented the life he lived as the Hero of Earth was telling him that killing the wife and child was wrong.
Maybe he could try to convince his conscience that killing the wife was okay, but the child?
Pellin’s child seemed to be no older than four, and his eyes contained an innocence that could not be seen in a grown demon.
But Simon knew, he knew that he had to kill the wife and child.
Countless thoughts were fired in Simon’s mind like a ping-pong, but at the end of the day, he had already made his decision.
Pellin beneath him was no longer moving and trying to fight back. Instead, his entire body seemed to be struck by true lightning as he was in immense shock.
How could he not recognize the voice of his beloved son?
But why?
Why had the come now?
Couldn’t something have delayed them?
Couldn’t they have come after Simon left?
Just why?
Was this karma?
Pellin’s mind was filled with chaotic thoughts, and before he could get himself, the world in Simon’s eyes went back to its normal speed.
The wife turned the key and locked the door, then she turned while still looking down and her lips parted open to speak.
"Junior, you-"
Her words were cut short as the Chaos Sword impaled her forehead, killing her as swiftly as possible.
She never even got to see her husband or her son after entering the house.
Thud
Thud
Thud
The bags and objects in the bag fell to the ground as her arms slowly fell and became limp.
Her legs slid forward, along with her back which slowly slid down the door.
Her body dangled lifelessly on the door, and the entire house became silent.
Pellin could not see, but he could imagine what had just happened.
His wife was about to speak, but now she was silent.
He knew that she was dead, and he felt a sting in his heart he couldn’t even properly describe.
"Mama? Ma-"
Whoosh!
The little piglet turned and stared at his mother with a blank expression, unable to comprehend what was happening.
However, Simon suddenly appeared before him and covered his mouth with a cold and indifferent expression.
He said nothing, but the sound of Pellin getting to his feet with his snort emitting visible heat waves could be heard.
Pellin looked around, then his gaze landed on his wife before shifting to his son whose mouth was being covered by the killer of his mother.
Pellin gnashed his teeth in fury and pain, and he was about to roar, but Simon indifferently swung two of his fingers at pig.
Puchi
Slash!
The Chaos Blade moved as Simon controlled it with his mind. It cut off Pellin’s remaining arm- his right arm- then the blade moved and went straight into Pellin’s mouth, piercing right through it.
Pellin was wracked with so much pain that he wanted to scream, but he could not.
Thud
Thud
He fell on his knees before falling on his face while groaning in immense pain.
He tried to get up, but he couldn’t. He had no arms, and getting up without arms was a difficult feat.
With fiery determination, anger, and pain burning in his eyes, he tried to get up once again, but he failed.
But he tried once again.
’My son. I need to save my son. No matter what, my son must live.’
As Pellin tried once again, he felt the familiar Chaos Wraps wrap itself around him and then lift him up.
His throat was bound, and he was forced to look at Simon with the ’help’ of the Chaos Wraps.
"You cannot even begin to imagine the shock I’m feeling seeing your love for your wife and most importantly... your son."
"Really?... A twisted bastard like you can love this much? I don’t even know what I’m feeling... No... I know... It’s disgust."
"I’m disgusted by the fact that something like you can show this much love. I am seriously disgusted by it, and honestly, since I can’t torture you to my heart’s content, I’ll just allow you watch your child die before your very eyes."
"Don’t worry. I’m not sick and twisted like you, so... I’ll make it painless."
Pellin’s eyes widened in fear, hatred, anger, disbelief, and chaos. He vehemently shook his head as he stared at Simon and his son.
Simon’s expression was cold and indifferent, and in the next second...
Puchi!
His claws went straight through the child’s heart.
