The Cannon Fodder in the Global Apocalypse Game lives a leisurely life-Chapter 365: Qixi Festival (1)
Chapter 365: Qixi Festival (1)
Haoran was certain that it shouldn’t be Qixi right now unless the system had made modification with the timeline.
This leads him to think what sort of power the system holds for it to be able to make a perfect copy of their world.
It was too real for an illusory trick.
Because it was Qixi Festival, most of the activities were made for couples.
Although a portion of the people strolling on the street belong to the single association and celebrated Qixi as Happy Independence Day, majority came in pairs or with their male relatives.
A group of four students wearing the same uniform bumped into Chunhua and Haoran.
When the group saw the Chunhua, they were surprised, one of them instantly greeted Chunhua, "Classmate Li, I didn’t expect to see you here."
Student Li?
Chunhua looked at the four students, three boys and one girl. One of them was wearing a white cap and was the one who greeted Chunhua.
The other two boys were wearing a headphone and the last one was smiling widely and staring at Chunhua.
"I didn’t know you’ll be coming here. Didn’t you say you’ll be busy for the rest of the day, that’s why you turn down my invitation?" The smiling youth didn’t stray his eyes from Chunhua and ignored Haoran beside her.
The girl snorted at Chunhua and her eyes were showing undisguised mockery.
Haoran merely glanced at the youths and asked Chunhua, "You know them?"
Chunhua perused her memory of the faces of these youths.
According to the original owner’s memory, these four were classmates from West Main High School of City Z.
The one with a beaming smile on his face should be called Xicheng, who pursued the original owner in high school, a typical stereotype of handsome second-generation kid.
His mother was one of the board directors of the School and their family runs a business in the food factory industry and supermarkets. Therefore, lots of girls were buzzing around him including the girl Xicheng is with, his distant cousin named Nuo, trying to attract his attention but Xicheng was only paying attention to the cold cutie Li Chunhua.
The other two boys with him were Fengqi and Boran, the sons of his parents’ business partners.
Regarding what Xicheng said about inviting her. He did invite her during this time and Chunhua was supposed to be her part-time job in a café.
West Main High School is a semi-private school and the school offers scholarship and for impoverished students like her, but she had to take part-time jobs for meals, monthly rents and save the rest for her college.
She had no one to rely on beside her self. Fortunately, some shops accepted high school students, though the pay was very low, it was enough for her to live.
Xicheng also knew of her flight and often tempted her with his money but the original Chunhua was quite prideful and didn’t succumb.
Xicheng had even more become determine and sent her expensive gifts, flowers, offered her high paying jobs at their businesses, and many more.
And because of Xicheng’ aggressive courting, she was isolated by the girls at school.
"You’re Xicheng, right?" Chunhua questioned. Though she still maintained a smile, it was not so warm.
Haoran looked at the youth before him which Xiao Hua identified as Xicheng.
Xicheng was momentarily in a trance when he saw Chunhua was smiling at him. His brain started running.
The whole school knows Chunhua was cold and rarely smiles, so Xicheng and even his friends were taken aback.
And she even called Xicheng with his first name! Is she finally relenting to his advances?
It took a few seconds before Xicheng could gather himself, "I’m glad you still remember my name. By the way classmate, do you have any plans for the rest of the day? If you don’t have, you can tag along and I’ll pay for everything." Gaining some confidence, Xicheng took a step closer to Chunhua and his eyes roamed around her body.
"Yeah, Student Li, Xicheng had arranged at a boat ride later near the magpie bridge when we can see the scheduled play later in the night! I heard that the rising stars from Synergy Entertainment are going to be the actors." Fengqi said excitedly before patting Xicheng’s shoulder.
Qixi Festival was about two-crossed lovers a weaver girl Zhi Nv and Niulang, a cowherd. Separated by the vast Milky Way, these two can only meet during the day of the seventh of the seventh month with the help of the magpies forming a bridge.
The manager of the park would organize a theatric play and hire famous actors to be the weaver girl and the cowherd, and couples would flock to the riverside to get a view and get closer as possible.
But the view from the riverbanks is not as clear as the ones in the boat rides. Additionally, the numbers of boats are limited, so they were very expensive. It was not an exaggerated to say that even a small boat was priced at 1500 yuan, costlier than the buffet.
To a student like Chunhua who earns to hundred yuan a week, a single boat ride cost1500 yuan was equivalent to her two-month salary.
Boran, the youth with a slanted eyes and white jacket over also added, "Student Li, not only we’re going boat ride; we also booked a luxurious room on West Lake Main Pagoda to enjoy the fireworks later. I heard that a prestigious chef will be cooking there tonight."
Just like the boat rides, fireworks was also a common tradition during festivals and West Main Lake Pagoda is a seventh-story building that was constructed dating back thousand years ago and was a hub for scholars.
Someone bought it and turned it into a restaurant but the price of the menu could only be afford by the rich.
"Cousin, why are you inviting her over?" Nuo crossed her arms and appeared to be dissatisfied with the attention Xicheng was giving the other girl.
Xicheng’s smiles grew wider and thought he had a chance but although Chunhua likes free things especially free food, she didn’t have a good feeling from this youth. He gave off the same vibes as Huo Yan.
