The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 162: I’m Sorry, Let’s Break Up
Yelena Hughes certainly didn’t believe him, and she was eager to leave here.
"I wouldn’t dare deceive you, so are you going to separate from Miss Alden?"
Jasper Yale didn’t answer her directly, "And you, have you already set your eyes on Dr. Chandler?"
"Like I said, starting as friends."
Yelena Hughes placed her hand on the doorknob, "Can I leave now?"
She had only been here for a short while, and they had actually spoken for just ten minutes or so. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The phone in Yelena Hughes’s pocket started ringing, and she seemed to know who it was from, so she didn’t take it out to answer.
"Why not answer it?"
"It’s probably not an important call."
Jasper Yale stared at Yelena Hughes’s face, feeling more and more like she had the classic look of a femme fatale.
No matter if a man prefers innocence or sultriness, Yelena Hughes could conquer them all.
"Goodnight, little master."
Jasper Yale felt like a hook had been placed in him, waiting for Yelena Hughes to decide when to let him off the line.
Yelena Hughes opened the door, but she didn’t leave immediately.
"Little master," she had rejected him like this several times, and it was impossible for her not to feel nervous inside.
She tentatively asked Jasper Yale a question. "You wouldn’t hold a grudge against me, would you? You should know that if you ever use any tactics, I won’t be able to compete with you."
Yelena Hughes, having just acted tough, was afraid of Jasper Yale’s retaliation.
The man was genuinely provoked by her words, "No, I won’t!"
He repeated with annoyance, "When have I ever forced you?"
All those times in the past, wasn’t it all willingly on her part?
Yelena Hughes feigned relief and patted her chest, "That’s good then."
Jasper Yale wanted to keep her there, with the light inside connected to the corridor outside, wishing to keep her by his side, even if only for one night.
"Dinner hasn’t been eaten yet, have something to eat together."
Yelena Hughes almost immediately refused, "No, I need to get home early to accompany Anne."
After she said that, she glanced up at Jasper Yale, "You said you wouldn’t force me. I don’t want to have dinner with you. You won’t be mad, right?"
Jasper Yale clenched his teeth but let her go.
She had time to have dinner with Dr. Chandler, but when it was him, she hurried home to be with her sister.
Hailey Jenkins was sitting in the car, and as she looked up, she saw Yelena Hughes coming out, surprised at how quick it was.
She quickly got out of the car and heard Yelena Hughes talking on the phone.
"I’m back home too, go ahead with the surgery, alright, see you tomorrow."
For someone as clever as Hailey Jenkins, how could she not guess who it was?
She thought Jasper Yale would stay there for the night, but after seeing Yelena Hughes off, he returned to The Summit Gardens.
Nancy Alden hadn’t slept yet, with piles of documents stacked on the bedside table. When Jasper Yale entered, he saw her with a troubled look.
It wasn’t until he reached the bedside that Nancy Alden realized someone was there.
"Jasper!" She was filled with joy, "You’re back."
"What are you looking at?"
"Company documents, it’s a bit tiring to read."
Nancy Alden wanted to get off the bed, "Have you had dinner?"
Her shoulder was gently pressed by a hand, "Nancy, I have something to tell you."
Nancy Alden’s heart sank, as her intuition had always been sharp—she felt nothing good was going to happen.
"My stomach is still empty, why don’t we go downstairs and have something to eat first?"
"There’s no need."
Jasper Yale glanced at the nightstand, where there were several jewelry boxes, seemingly sent over by Mrs. Yale.
"I’m just here to pack some things before I go."
"You’re... going on a business trip?"
"No, I won’t be living here from now on."
The last bit of hope on Nancy Alden’s face was crushed, "Why?"
"Nancy, The Summit Gardens is still your home; stay here comfortably."
"But... without you here, what am I?" Nancy Alden felt it was too sudden, but a day like this was unstoppable, she just didn’t think it would come so soon.
"Is it because of Yelena Hughes?"
Jasper Yale didn’t deny it, which meant he admitted it?
"Do you like her? Then what about me? Jasper, you are all I have, please don’t leave me..."
Nancy Alden grasped Jasper Yale’s arm, "Don’t do this, please?"
"I won’t leave you unattended; I’ll help with whatever I can in the future."
But that’s not what she wanted; she wanted to be his wife, she wanted to be the Young Madam of the Yale Family.
"Jasper, don’t you like me anymore?"
The man’s eyes were indifferent; he stared at Nancy Alden in front of him. In the past, seeing her cry like this, he would certainly have felt heartache and softened.
But now he just felt very sorry.
"I’m sorry, Nancy."
Nancy Alden knew that if she continued to pester him, she wouldn’t gain anything.
If Jasper Yale began to feel disgust towards her, she would truly end up with nothing.
After a while, Hailey Jenkins knocked on the door from outside, Jasper Yale’s belongings were all packed up.
Nancy Alden’s eyes were red, but she really didn’t want to let go, she hugged Jasper Yale’s shoulders tightly, "Is it because I can’t have children? Jasper, I’ll cooperate with the treatment, okay? I’ll take the most bitter medicine, I’m not even afraid of surgery..."
Jasper Yale’s hand gently placed on Nancy Alden’s back, "It’s not because of that reason."
"Then is it because of my leg? I can stand up now, you saw it, I’m about to leave the crutches behind."
"Nancy."
Jasper Yale just softly called her name, this man, after all, was covered in sharp edges.
When he doesn’t want you, the tighter you hold on, the more his sharpness will pierce, leaving you bleeding.
Nancy Alden understood this principle, she also knew she couldn’t win back Jasper Yale’s heart.
Then let her remind him, even if now he only felt guilty towards her, she wanted him to remember why she ended up like this.
With this little sense of debt, Yelena Hughes wouldn’t have a good life in the future.
Jasper Yale moved out of The Summit Gardens overnight, Yelena Hughes was still at home with Anne Hughes, unaware of the drastic change about to happen in her life.
The next day.
Dr. Chandler called early in the morning, apologizing for running off midway last night, and they arranged to have dinner together after work.
Yelena Hughes was quite busy today; she barely had time to put on some lipstick on her way to dinner.
They had agreed on a pickled fish restaurant, and Yelena Hughes ended up being late.
She hurriedly pushed open the glass door and almost ran inside, spotting Dr. Chandler right away.
Yelena Hughes waved her hand and took a few steps forward, only then seeing that there was another person sitting opposite him.
She reached the table, and the bit of a smile on her face froze.
The small restaurant had narrow seats, with the two men sitting face to face, practically occupying the spaces next to each other.
Dr. Chandler scooted over slightly, "You’re here, have a seat."
Yelena Hughes felt a chill at being stared at by Jasper Yale. Just as she was about to sit, he stood up and grabbed her wrist.
"Why squeeze in next to Dr. Chandler? Don’t I have a seat for you here?"
