Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Trying to Seduce Me Right Under Her Nose?

Transactions always start when he says so, even if I want to stop, Yelena Hughes can’t oppose it.

But those meds, they’re Yelena Hughes’ lifeline.

"Young Master Yale, no way!"

A light laugh came from the other end, sounding slightly mocking, "Why not?"

"Really, it’s impossible. Without the medication, my sister will die. If anything happens to her, I..."

Jasper Yale interrupted Yelena Hughes, "What’s it got to do with me?"

Right, all they’ve shared is a few nights, now Nancy Alden is awake, and she’s of no use.

Yelena Hughes feared Jasper Yale would hang up, "Did my words the other day hurt Miss Alden? I can apologize, whatever she wants."

Jasper Yale listened to her desperate pleas, the fear swallowed her voice.

"Young Master Yale, I really beg of you, the medication can’t stop."

Without a response, Yelena Hughes heard her own heavy breathing over the phone, all she could do was repeat, "Please, please..."

Jasper Yale’s heart is famously cold and hard, Yelena Hughes’ desperate cries aren’t enough to sway him.

But... a part of his heart seemed to soften a little.

"Enough, since there’s a beginning, there must be an end."

It’s because Yelena Hughes understood the benefits of Heart Protection Peace that she’s holding on to this lifeline desperately. She bit down lightly, "But didn’t Young Master Yale say that day, Miss Alden’s health was poor, and I should be on call?"

When Yelena Hughes said this, she broke her pride, even crushed her dignity.

Speaking those words felt like peeling off her own skin.

Jasper Yale lit a cigarette, the sound of burning tobacco dripping with disdain, "Didn’t you disagree?"

She had no choice, right?

"Just give me the medication..."

"Yelena Hughes, I’m no longer interested in you."

She gasped again, Jasper Yale bit his cigarette brutally, "If you want it, there’s another way."

"What way?" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Nancy says, go find her."

Yelena Hughes managed to find a glimmer of hope, however faint, "Okay."

Jasper Yale didn’t hear any hesitation from her, "I’m warning you, she’s in a bad mood lately, better not entertain any wild ideas."

"Don’t worry, Young Master Yale, I won’t."

After hanging up, Dean Holloway approached, seeing her seeming out of it, "What’s wrong, you don’t look so good."

"Nothing, just a bit tired."

"Felix Wood is already inside, you should be celebrating. Speaking of, Young Master Yale treats you quite well. If not for his entire set of evidence, you’d be in trouble."

Yelena Hughes murmured, confiding solves nothing, sometimes, she can only rely on herself.

After working overtime today, Yelena Hughes walked out of the company almost at six, the sky completely dark, the chilly night wind cut her face like a knife.

She arrived at The Summit Gardens, didn’t have time for self-pity, and walked right in.

Josephine seemed to know she’d come, waiting at the door.

Yelena Hughes entered and immediately saw Nancy Alden not far away, even greeted her proactively.

"Miss Hughes, how come you have time to visit?"

Yelena Hughes stood at the door, took off her sneakers, ready to step inside.

"Josephine, fetch the guest a pair of shoes."

"Okay." Josephine opened the shoe cabinet, took out a pair of slippers.

Nancy Alden smiled, wheeling over, "Josephine, you picked the wrong ones, Miss Hughes only likes my stuff, not ugly or cheap, she won’t wear them."

Josephine understood, replaced slippers with pointed high heels.

"Put them on." Josephine glanced closely at Yelena Hughes, her features stunning.

Nancy Alden’s petite, small shoe size, Yelena Hughes didn’t fit at first. The shoes were stiff, but after several attempts, she finally managed to squeeze into them.

These shoes are two sizes smaller than her usual ones.

Yelena Hughes hadn’t walked yet, but already felt the pain. Nancy Alden watched her, smiling ambiguously, "Here to see Jasper Yale? He’s not back yet."

"Not here for him, I’m here for Heart Protection Peace."

"I heard from Jasper Yale, your sister’s really sick, won’t she die without the meds?"

Yelena Hughes didn’t want to recall pulling Anne Hughes back from death over and over, "Yes, so I beg you, Miss Alden, could you spare a few boxes?"

"I asked Jasper Yale yesterday, he said the release date is yet to be decided, once it’s in hospitals, it definitely won’t be expensive."

Nancy Alden wanted to see her suffer, "Just can’t get it now, quite a pity."

In her heart, she despises Yelena Hughes, filthy for sleeping with men for pills, she doesn’t understand why Jasper Yale favors her.

Josephine was about to open the door, hearing noise from outside, "Young Master Yale’s back."

Nancy Alden’s face lit up, "Don’t block the way, or do you want the first thing he sees to be you?"

Yelena Hughes heard, immediately stepped aside.

Jasper Yale entered, seeing Yelena Hughes didn’t surprise him, he walked past her to Nancy Alden’s wheelchair, "How was today, happy?"

Yelena Hughes’ calm eyes waved slightly.

She’s like a worthless toy, Jasper Yale sent her to Nancy Alden just to entertain her, didn’t he?

No matter what Miss Alden does to her, as long as she can vent.

"Not happy, you weren’t home to keep me company."

Jasper Yale lightly patted her face, "Been busy with work."

"I’m starving, let’s eat."

"Alright."

Nancy Alden’s legs are recovering from acupuncture treatment, but she can’t yet walk like before, "Carry me."

Jasper Yale said nothing, bent down to lift her from the wheelchair, Nancy Alden rested her head on his shoulder, proudly glancing at Yelena Hughes.

"Miss Hughes hasn’t had dinner yet? Join us."

Yelena Hughes naturally couldn’t agree, "I’ve already eaten, thank you."

Jasper Yale carried Nancy Alden to the dining table, "I need to go upstairs first."

He returned from outside, he had to change first, Nancy Alden agreed, seeing Yelena Hughes left alone there.

"Yelena Hughes, it’s not impossible to give you the medication, it depends on what you do."

"What do you want me to do?"

Nancy Alden didn’t specify, "Just be obedient."

She waited a moment, still didn’t see Jasper Yale come down, "You go upstairs and call him, I can’t wait."

This... doesn’t seem appropriate.

Nancy Alden saw she didn’t move, curled her lip, "That’s too hard for you? Then forget it."

Yelena Hughes couldn’t refuse, she could only step to the stairs.

She’d almost give out in those shoes, the soles rubbed sore, worsened when climbing stairs, like stepping on knife edges.

Yelena Hughes struggled to reach the second floor, leaned against the wall, saw Jasper Yale coming over.

He saw her, instinctively frowned, "What are you doing up here?"

"Miss Alden asked me to hurry you."

Yelena Hughes planned to go down, her foot suddenly shot with sharp pain, she stumbled into Jasper Yale.

He tugged her, voice like a ghost, "You’re trying to seduce me right under her nose?"
